The autocheck report showed 2 reported accidents with the vehicle, one a right rear impact and the other unspecicified. No mention of the airbags was made in autocheck report.

Is there a way one can, by inspection, detect a previously deployed airbag in a car?

It is a 1998 Accord, I4.

If the airbag light goes off after you start the car then the airbag is intact.
It is possible the airbags were not deployed-probably becos it was not a frontal impact.

simple the air sign will show on dashboard, unless depending with instrument cluster, some people pull off the airbag light

the passenger and drivers are easy, dashboard passenger side would be torn and same with driver's steering one

My airbag's hvnt deployed but the airbag light is constantly on, its an 03 Avensis, I got it Nigerian used tho,any remedy?

Have the SRS scanned. The same goes for the OP.

its currently at a mechanic garage having the auto transmission replaced, unfortunately the garage doesn't have any scanning tool, will have to take it somewhere else to get it scanned, I'm guessing this will show more errors because :
1)ABS light is also always on
2)The speedometer guage reads 25kpmh when the engine isn't even running(mechanic says as soon as the tranny's replaced,it'll be back on 0)

It means the SRS/ airbag module, through its occupant detection sensor, has not detected anybody on the front passenger seat.
