Even in advanced countries where social programs exist, this is how they began.

What I would like to see is a social program that cater for elderly, for poor, for disabled.

This one they are doing now should be institutionalized and etched into an ACT so successive governments will comply to it rather than using it to abuse the recipients and coercing them solicitously.

My brother this social intervention has been going on since October 2017. Nobody is using it coerce anybody. The poor, elderly and disabled are being catered for through it and if you go through the pictures, you will see that is so.

All you listed is currently ongoing but in the interim the people cannot be left to die while waiting for all you listed. That is the essence of social welfarism.

This is done in saner climes despite the availability of all you listed.

Here, most of these very poor do not own bank accounts which is why cash is preferred unlike in developed countries where social security is paid directly to their accounts.

Ever heard about sustainable development?
Are you aware of the condition of pensioners in the country?

ln those climes you referred to, every individual who is qualified is captured in a data base and they get their benefits regularly.

You may have to give us the definition of "very poor".
I can tell you that where I come from, the coverage won't be up to 1% if anything happened there at all.

This kind of programme is a flash in the pan.
When was the last time you had uninterrupted power for a mere week or had your bath under the shower with water from the public utilities?

You are still repeating the same thing you said before which exposes your ignorance.

Sustainable development is ongoing side by side with this. Sustainable development is not like painting a room which is done in a day is it?

These people are mostly not government retirees so are not entitles to pensions.

Pensions are also being handled. FG does not owe. Only states do and the same FG has been bailing out these States so what exactly is your problem?

Nothing becomes all inclusive immediately. It has to begin from somewhere and this has begun and will last for 2 years and while it is ongoing, same people are being introduced to other government empowerment programs like Tradermoni, marketmoni, farmersmoni which are all collateral free loans from the FG to help petty traders, larger sized market people and middle level to top level farmers.

All is going on side by side and a littler research would have availed you of this information in order to stop you from asking ignorant questions which are so elementary to a federal government with a qualified and well experienced economic team.

Let me school you a bit.

This program has been on since October 2017 and did not begin now nor is it because of the election.

It has been going on monthly to date without much noise and this should let you know it had nothing to do with elections.

This program is sustainable for another 2 years which is the aim of the government which is why they rolled out other empowerment programs like Tradermoni, Marketmoni, Farmersmoni which are all colaterla free loans from the FG to care for petty traders, small scale marketers and large / small scale farmers . Enough to get them self reliant and out of poverty levels. Over 300k people nationwide have already taken advantage and are directly benefiting from them.

This government may have borrowed but they did so to fund infrastructure and not to pay salaries which is something the past administration cannot boast about despite having huge returns on soil sales.

This government even with half of that in cost of crude has never borrowed to pay salaries but has consistently been given bail outs.

At $130 per barrel of crude, the PDP government still rendered about 30 states bankrupt and unable to pay salaries but even when oil was $27 per barrel PMB was still able to pay bail out funds to States and has never owed any till date.
This government is better than what we had and keeps getting better.

If with what you said you actually thought you were economically sound, you simply succeeded in deceiving yourself.
sometimes you just have to ignore this people sometimes I wonder if they are from another planet the Agric department in my LGA have been busy given out loans to farmers curtsey of the fg

I beg to differ my business has grown and is still growing under this Nigerian economy so stop with your beer parlour gossip. I have first hand experience.

Since you claim you didn't hear that then confirms my "quietly" position. However it was loud enough for beneficiaries and those who truly needed it to hear

You've been doing a great job sir, I salute your courage. Its very evidentful that we can't all sleep and face the same direction. People with diverse point of view and interpretation of gestures.

I don't blame those who don't see anything good in what the current government is doing, we all have a past and some people are just so stuck in it that it'll be hard for them to get over.

I for one is an entrepreneur (for those who truly understand what it means anyway) and I must say, if you can package your idea well, you have the best market in the world to sell it despite any condition the country is. But we are in a country where we are so used to bail outs, cheap and free money/incentives.

It's hard for someone who is not of like mind to see your vision. And it takes more than a binoculars to see into the future.

Please keep up the good work sir, your likes and many others like you are needed in the country in order to keep our dear land moving.

PS: For the conditional transfer, I'm so aware of when it started, at the beginning, most beneficiaries believed it was a state owned programme, I guess it's a reason why the FG had to announce to the world that it's their project.

The SME program was not announced last week. It began in 2017. Stop with your ignorance.
