Why Would A Christian Commit Suicide? by Nobody:
Just saw the sad news on Nairaland of a pastor who died following complications from attempting suicide.

Some may shrug it off as "not my portion" but global suicide rates have increased by 60% since 1945. According to WHO figures, one person commits suicide every 40 seconds.

Even more worrisome is when a professed follower of Christ decides to take his life.

Think about it

This was a man who preached to people regularly, giving them advice on how to manage their lives.

What could have gone wrong? We may never know the full story.

But no matter the circumstance, a person who has discovered true meaning and purpose for his life will not see any reason to end it.

Could there be something wrong with the kind of Gospel popularly being preached today?

These days, many wounded people are hiding their deep insecurities with "positive confessions".

They claim "it's well" when all isn't well; they declare "I'm rich" when they are dead broke.

Where is the fellowship of the brethren spoken of in the Scriptures? Why wasn't there anyone who the pastor could be real with?

Let's spare a thought for each other today. Reach out to someone with a kind word.

You never know whose life you may be saving...

Indeed

But must every depressed person decide to end it all?

The pastor in the news story I saw left behind a wife and THREE kids.

Can you imagine the trauma those kids will have to endure?
