Btw 300 - 400k should be able to cover it since it is only external. But location plays important role when it comes to project costing. So i will advise u get someone to physically inspect it & give u an estimate.

Your structure type will depend on type of foundation to use and other considerations to adopt in the process.

Given normal conditions for good soil/land type
A foundation depth of 450mm/600mm (bungalows/single storey) can be used.
Run your blinding with appropriate concrete thickness, run a plinth beam (chain beam) after 5 course block work all round existing wall.
Assuming it will take 8 course of block work to attain a desired level above the existing road, you'll run your plinth beam on the 4th course and repeat the process on the 8th.

thanks, why we tried not to include a television is to reduce the electricity consumption but we have just discovered led flat screen televisions that runs only on 33watts. the biggest headache is electricity supply, a typical Nigerian hotel runs on 300kva generator that consumes a drum of diesel, every 4hours. that means a thousand litres of diesel per day. we're trying to cut it down by at least 70%. thanks for your contributions, we really appreciate it.

lol, not at all it wont, i use solar, and the wiring is done from the CB,fans, light points, and select sockets are wired to be on the solar line, while other loads are put on the normal/phcn phase in the CB, the avg electrician wud be able to carry out the job

Interior : if your walls are not prone to water or dampness , you can go for the normal White screeding pop plaster and pop paint and ensure it's mixed with BOND. If your walls are prone to dampness ensure it's treated against dampness before screeding and NOT after

Exterior: I would not recommend pure cement screeding, you can go for premixed ready made putty and should be water proof just to be on a safer side .

I think for EXTERNAL pvc ceiling, that's if it's for the roof overhang... Pvc should preceed plastering.

This is to ensure all the holes in the ceiling are covered against lizards and crawling insects.

Those kind of paints reveal the uneveness of a wall after plastering.
The need for screeding is to hide such.

Hello Sirs, I want to embark on this project, precisely next week. We're planning to move here from our 4 year old bungalow. Same city( Abeokuta) but different environment. The land is quite small, we have another structure beside the proposed building so we are left with this piece of land to build this. The project is going to be supervised by a builder. 3 designs were sent and I chose this. I just want to have an idea of what to expect in terms of cost. I told him that I want us to do it in phases.
The first phase will be from foundation to completion of the decking, second will take it to level and parapet, 3rd
will be roofing and all that and we continue like that, non stop (In Sha Allah).
Please what's the reasonable amount to expect in the first 2 phases? Any suggestion as regards the design?
Nb: the land was sloppy but it's been sand filled to level 1 year ago
