Number one killer are religions like Christianity where pastors encourage members to pray their health problems away then arrange health miracles to enforce that belief. by the time the gullible finally decides to seek medical help the sickness has either gotten worse and incurable or they're at the brink of death or its caused some permanent damage. pastors still win even if that's the case as they can fall back on "god works in mysterious ways"

We are saying the same thing. God's protection is the reason life expectancy keeps going down in Nigeria and to make it rise as in other countries, we need more of God's protection. Is that not smart enough?

Reckless driving & bad roads

Eating & drinking poisons calling it enjoyment. A man that drinks fresh unadulterated palm wine once in a month for example will be more healther than those expensive fake oyinbo wines drank in same period. (I know people who drops chemicals in water & it turns to "ogogoro" in hours. A man was caught making can malt (very popular brand) in his backyard here. Most Nigerians poor or rich living in Nigeria are desperately very very wicked & heartless & will do anything to make money. . No regulations of supply & so any scorpion can set up counterfeit brand & sell to his fellow man - drugs, food, drink, alcohol. Some consume 'agbo' sold by vendors, many youths fucckk their lives away with various drugs to please or punish a hoe. Well whatever a man sows he reaps lol. What am I saying sef because to them something "must kill them" lol

Being shot dead with a gun or any weapons in the dream & not countering it when you wake up

Careless living, abominations, life of hypocrisy & swimming in sin calling it Grace lol

Worrying over the vanities of life. I want to hammer without engaging in profitable & meaningful ventures. You cheat customers, import & produce fake stuff. you yahoo, money ritual etc.

The love of money brings about untimely death

If you like believe or not, the above is what brings about the most dreaded sicknesses that defiled all medications & lab test. No computer & drugs can cure you. Lack of money/hunger is not why people die but sickness. A healthy man has everything but no health to enjoy your so called money, you will be miserable & watch while others enjoy your money

Above all, Godliness, contentments & moderation will see you through .

You missed out the major factor which is failure of government!

Government ought to regulate every sector of the economy but they have failed woefully! For instance, how do people get medications they self-medicate on? Through drug vendors! Other countries strictly regulate their drug markets but Nigeria is a different kettle of fish where just anybody can wake up one day and start selling drugs.

Do you also know the number of Nigerians that die from road accidents on daily basis?? That is also due to failure by government to regulate the road transport sector and to maintain our roads to ensure they are motorable.

Even our healthcare sector needs to be well regulated! Many people die in our hospitals due to errors from the medical doctors most of whom claim to know it all even in areas where other professionals would have handled better.

So, the whole thing boils down to failure of government!

If government wants to improve life expectancy in Nigeria, then they should empower all the government agencies involved in regulating those sectors that have direct impact on life. They can do this by not only providing funds but also make necessary laws to punish defaulters. They should stop playing politics with people's lives, period!

When a typical Nigerian is told the age at which an average Nigeria may die is one or two years less than 50 years, he may look at the person who make such a statement with so much disdain. He believes such a talk is not meant for him. However, the real truth is that some Nigerians sometime go beyond their limit in their day-to-day activities. Many Nigerians over use their body, and place unnecessary burden over their head in order to survive the Nigerian daily hustle.

Some of the briefly stated reasons below are responsible for cutting short the life of many Nigerians.

1. Pollution
Everywhere is polluted in Nigeria, especially fumes coming from generators in the neighbourhoods which has carbon monoxide (CO). The noise, air, water are other forms of pollution.

2. Poor nutrition
Poor feeding due to excuse of trying to save money for the rainy days. The economic situation of the country is telling on many people also.

3. Self- medication
There is a wrong notion that the doctor is not needed. Or sometimes, prayers taking over the functions of drugs due to extremism in faith

4. Stress
Society-created stress or self-created stress. No time for vacation. No time to relax with family or friends or to socialise. The hustling and bustling in a state like Lagos, is sometimes abnormal. People leave for work very early and close very late.

5. Little of rest, sleep, exercise and medical check-up
A person that works late into the night and sleep less than four hours everyday should know he is joking with his health and his life. Medically speaking, the average hour a person should sleep in a day is a minimum of six hours. How many Nigerians observe this, not to talk of going for at least an annual medical check-up

Most especially alcohol intake.I chew garlic and drink ginger tea.The Korean doctor I meat for my acupuncture treatment recommends it.We need to start taking care of our inner health.Before you eat anything, ask yourself, what will it give my inner body.

Guy, where do people travel to for Christmas, Salah, new yam festivities et al or no be vacation be that again?

The life expectancy here is still 45 years of age and that is if people live up to it.
I lost two uncles over an eight year gap. One was 35-36 and the other 46.
The painful part is they both died from otherwise simple complications: there was a power outage during the first one’s appendix surgery and the second died from an ill-managed peptic ulcer.

Vacation does not only mean going to Dubai, USA or UK, it can be done outside where you stay not necessarily travelling far.

Reasons the average Nigerian does not live long:

1. Poverty

2. Stress due to the Nigerian factor

3. Bad roads leading to numerous avoidable car accidents

4. Poor and negligent healthcare system in Nigeria

5. Marital stress

6. Inability of the Nigerian to mind his/her business and always carrying other people's wahala on their head like gala

7. Spiritual attacks

8. Poor eating habits

9. Risky sexual behaviour. Example, having multiple sex partners thereby increasing their chances of getting infected with sexually transmitted diseases

10. Drug and/or alcohol abuse

At the end of the day, Nigerians not living as long as they should has more to with the Nigerian factor and the Nigerian mindset more than anything else.

Well I actually wasnt thinking about travelling to Dubai or the US. Most average or just rich Nigerians re either not buoyant financially to go on vacations( within Nigeria) or are to busy hustling next term fees or something.
