I think we should learn patience. Waiting 12 months will not kill him, it will help him grow physically and emotionally enough to handle peer pressure better, he also can learn skills while waiting which he can use in future. It takes wisdom to understand these things

What makes him a genius, 336 over 400 in JAMB or A1's in agric, biology, geography et al? Do you know the meaning of 1 in a million? I put it to you his dude has just above average IQ.

It hurts badly when we hide under laws to deny the poor advancement in life and bend the same laws to favour the affluent. didn't Adeosun break the NYSC law? Is she not being celebrated? Where are the likes of Prof. Sagay who says when you oerform the law should take a back seat? Injustices and double standard are reasons why this society cannot move forward.

Not for Medicine, though. In the US, you have to have degree first, before you can study Medicine - that way you would be in your 20s. There is a reason for this; maturity counts when it comes to come courses, especially.

I am amazed how we reason in this country. Just Google it, to find out the youngest persons to be admitted into universities you'll see that the boy is fall older than them. Do you think that those universities that admitted them don't have an age standard?

Speaking much grammar does not translate to making sense at all. So of every institution bend rule, so an academic institution should do the same? Geez! am not sure you have even seen the four walls of a classroom with the way u reason

Imagine being the best graduating student in a Federal University and you are officially given 5k with one coloured A4 paper, while your mates that ate free food for 3 months were given cars, 25M, endorsements, vacation overseas etc. I still took my coloured paper to the student affairs department and I was told to come back during the next convocation to collect 5k. Age only count when you are not as brilliant as this. I just hope that the extra one year this boy will sit at home without being in school, will not affect his zeal and drive to education and what he aspired to be. this nation has a lot of things to address and definitely this is one of them. I believe that the youngest hot headed graduate in the world started his university same year if not earlier than this brilliant boy.

There should be an exception to that archaic law. Gifted kids like this shouldn't be demoralised in any way or form. Let them ride on.

Efforts to contact relevant authorities as to whether he could be considered for special admission has proved abortive as authorities say the law must be followed.

The lad however has come to terms with the surrounding suituations and says he will wait for the next year's admission.

According to sun news, David who hopes to become a neurosurgeon, had his passion activiated when he watched doctors battle to save the life of his late father when he was 8 years old, and since then vowed to study medicine so he can save lives.

With his father late, david is currently been sponsored by his mother and family members who are proud of him.

They can start by contacting their PH office close to Uniport if they are in Delat State. The embassy helps secure schlorship for a boy with good results like this in the USA university. They will coach and pay for him to do TOEFL and SAT and if he does well, they will take care of the rest. He still may have to wait till next year for admission there too because they will not take someone less than 16 years.

When a man exhumes the remains of a man he doesn't know how he was buried, he usually starts on the wrong spot. The child's problem is not about finance or spornsor. The boy sabi book pass him age. He will not be admitted because he is still a minor. so, politicians and priorities as you put it, have nothing to do with this discussion. Please always read and understand before you comment, so you will be able to make good contributions.

My logic is that for breaking grounds academically, he should have been sponsored to a western university. Something his widowed mother might not be able to afford. Or do you mean that is age isn't eligible for a university oversees too? Let his dad be one heavyweight politically and see whether your viewpoint will count even in the eyes off the law. That is if we still have any.

Educational qualification is not the only criteria and the age requirement involves emotional intelligence. Especially in an institution like the University of Lagos.

After one year, I still couldn't collect the 8k that accrued to me from 3 awards, and I actually went to Exams and Records Office about 3 times within that one year to see if they could give me the cheque to go and claim the money. It never happened. I gave up.

According to JAMB, u are eligible to write their exams as from age 16 so let him rewrite the exam next year. They shouldn't bend any rule because he did well, his exceptional performance is for himself so he can redo it again bot besides, academic whizkids are most times not streetwise on real life
