Bro, no matter what home is home. Yes things are well structured in the western world but that doesn't mean but that doesn't make there your home. No matter how much we try we will always be second class citizens outside naija.

I am surprised McGill even accepted such a person. What a mistake. I have lived in the so called greatest and richest and freest nation in the world, the United States. For 18 years of my life. I do love Nigeria. The food, the culture of hospitality and respect and rich community life, you will never find in the so called advanced nations. The huge reservoir of Human Resources, all the talents here, the rich endowment from God and how all these can be harnessed into the making of a truly great nation, is up to us. I use to be so blind like this guy. It took me living in another man’s land for many years and returning to mine to truly understand the depth and height and width and length of what a truly great nation Nigeria is. I have vowed wherever in the world I go henceforth, I must return to Nigeria and never stay long away from it like I did before. I have been the happiest and freest here because this is home. It’s not a shithole. The bad things in Nigeria that I see, have embued me with moral strength to help change things and develop my country and help make it a better place to live.
true talk Sir and please guys don't let us say bad about our national cause we got the chance to go to developed nations.

My application is 10weeks. Nothing has changed in my status page. The application length was 9weeks as at when I applied. I've sent a mail to both Lagos and London offices. I hope to get a positive response soonest. May God be praised.

Hi guys, how else can one prove employment status without payslips or bank statement reflecting montly salary when applying for study permit. You know how some private firms can be in Nigeria, they pay you in cash and in instalments. Will employment letter suffice?
Thanks

What drove to the bolded statement? If McGill made a mistake on accepting him, then inform them about it or better still correct it yourself. Since you seem to know very well more than the university and visa officers that granted him visa. The young man has poured out his heart about the wrong deeds in this country and further used a Lebanese man as a clear case study. The word "shithole", I personally don't acquiesce with it and I have cautioned him. But seriously, the above statement looks so impractical of you and doesn't potray you in unequivocal view. Moreover, it's not all comment you see here you must respond to or drag attention. You talk as if you will truly return to Nigeria after studies in Canada, Fine!. I refer you as an "Attorney" because you're born of knowledge and persistence purpose. So, let's go with that narrative. The young man has secured his TRV and nobody can change it. Let him be and let's face what brought us here.

Yes we all want to leave our country to where the system works but in my opinion is not enough reason to call it a shithole, it still a country that nursed us, i remember feeling safe in this country as a child, playing and moving about freely with my peers without the fear of earthquake, tornado or the likes, the fact that this country is like this today is as a result of man's greed and selfishness which if we can come together as one we can make it better.

Congrats on your approval and please dont because you feel your country is a shithole kowtow on your rights as a human being over there.

Pardon my ignorance please
A sponsorship letter is a letter, written by the sponsor, usually containing;
1. Introduction of the sponsor
2. How he intends to fund the applicant (the amount he will provide every year, his business, properties......)
2. The relationship between the applicant and the sponsor
3. The reason for sponsoring the applicant
4. The sponsor can also put in a few good words, like how passionate the applicant is about the course of study.

The affidavit of sponsorship, is the actual declaration of sponsorship, where the sponsor swears to give out a specific amount of money to the applicant. It is usually done in a court.

GCMS note is a case specific note, written by the visa officer when he/she denies an application.
The note contains the exact reasons why the visa officer denies an application

Utter failure? I see! Stay tuned man! Just as our faces are different so are our destinies! The same USA you claim you have lived, there are people who came in and stayed for a shorter time than you but can buy off your net worth without battering an eyelid! Visitor patriot! Ajala travel the world. You agree with my comment about Nigerian being a shithole, but go on to fault my logic, you are confused man! If you wanna be patriotic, be it and don't waiver with all these sad failure stories and negative vibes, ok! I have highly successful friends doing legit businesses in Canada just as there are many highly successful people doing business here too!

You sound like you have given up on your country a long time ago; I don't really blame you sha, but I want you to remember that there's a God up high watching, His ways are different from ours and so is His thoughts, He's full of surprises, He has the power to use the most foolish things to confound the wise, believe it if you want, but people are praying for this country. Whatsoever is happening now is not new, the worse has happened in these same greenish countries before they became what and where they are today. I still believe that Nigeria is not a mistake, one day things will turn around for good. cry cry cry

People get visa's without including their salary bank statement. You can include your employment verification letters, work ID, and resume.

Bad leaders dying is not a good thing to us. We are suffering in this carton. Greenish countries as you used it, had problems and came together to iron out their differences. In Canada, some provinces have French as their language and control their immigration and resources are distributed and facilities developed on the needs and comparative advantages. We hate what Lugard did but since we can't come together to trash out things, we say we have a country we shouldn't called a shit hole. There is no way the north and others will agree on equity and merit and you still call here home. You can't run for office in Kano as a southerner. You are afraid of your business and houses outside your region and we want God to come and restructure.

My brothers, sorry I hurt people's feelings with my shithole rhetoric. But in the real sense, is this country moving forward? If Nigeria is so good, why aren't we queuing to pursue degrees in UNN, UNICAL, UNILAG et al? Why are consultant doctors and health professionals of allied sciences leaving in their droves? We're still having the same old sets of cargoes want to rule us again. We are deeply divided on ethnoreligious lines. We scream that Nigeria is home, but is Nigeria truly home? Can an Ibo man fearlessly build a house in Kano without worrying about ethnoreligious fights? Yes, it's true you'll miss the culture, but there's simply more to life than just the people!
The other day in Abuja, a Lebanese man slapped a Nigerian man, and called the cops on him and the Nigerian was malhandled by the cops on the order of the Lebanese! Is that normal? A Lebanese man beat up a pregnant staff and she got a miscarriage, guess what, the police still detained the woman on the orders of a foreign national!
A sibling who had a first class in Engineering, and distinction in two masters degree all from overseas came home and looked for job but couldn't find any until God opened the way for him and he relocated. He was simply rejected at home, and you expect him to be proud of his roots tomorrow? On many occasions, 3rd class graduates who had connections were chosen over him, and we expect this country to work?
Look at our current president, is he intelligent enough to pilot the affairs of this country? 2019, people will queue up for 1k. Some people are earning 18k as salary! Is this a country? Nepotism, tribalism are all forms of racism!

My brother abeg go and enjoyed.......who be the person wey want cancel your visa.....when God don stamp already wetin.........
