Underpaid tax? In what way? Govt says one thing without proof, and you chaps recycle it without knowing the facts, or the way the industry works. The telecoms equipment were imported by different companies (not related to MTN), using their own company names, and not
MTN's name. Such equipment was only sold to MTN after it had arrived in the country. And the names and identities of the consignees are well documented, and known to govt. Their offices are also open and still doing business. MTN did not import the equipment, or clear the goods. So on what basis are they holding MTN?

And using cars as an example, is a totally wrong illustration which cannot apply to the telecom industry. Sp do not go down that route, unless you want people to laugh you to scorn.

Recent news claim govt acted on information from a whistle blower inside MTN. I really don't understand why Nigerians that should be happy that govt is ensuring companies pay correct taxes are advocating for MTN. Why are you more Catholic than the Pope?
