So you bitch do not know that we have enough schools on Nigeria? Which is better is it to build new university and underfund them or to fund the existing one to meet international standard? Don't we have enough schools to build manpower? How I forgot you so blind you couldn't see at all. And yes government also build industries and as well provide enabling environment for industries to thrive. Ajaokuta Steel company, Okomu Oil palm etc are they not government companies even though they are maribound due to corruption? No you don't know cause u are blind. Incase you failed economics in your olevel, Nigeria is not yet a capitalist economy but a mixed where both individual and government control resources including industries. Madam I say it again, we need industries and businesses not transport university. We need jobs not advance secondary schools with empty laboratories and libraries.

Also u asked who sites a school on a populated area? where else can they site a school? Inside Sambisa or inside d jungle? Schools should be sited where the society can easily access it to have their problems solve as a school is a place of knowledge...why am I telling you this when you can never understand it?
Lol you did a very good job at stating rubbish.

1. If the capacity of universities we have is enough then everybody that writes jamb each year would gain admission. Until then, its not enough.... You must have enough before you talk of quality.

2. Okomu palm oil company is a private investment and not government. While Ajaokuta steel mill was established as a government business yet see the mess made out of it. After realising that government has no business in business the Nigerian government opt for PPP (I am hoping you know what that means), though currently there are a lot of controversies surrounding it.

3. If I give you job and you don't have the set skills to handle it how will you survive on the job. After crashing out of the job then I go employ the white to do them for me because my own people don't have the expertise to handle it. In essence don't put the cart before the horse.

4. University are sited in remote places because of access to land and also help the community to grow. Go check out 70% of universities in Nigeria where they are located.

You talk as though you have knowledge but its obvious to me that its either your knowledge is obsolete or you need schooling. Get sense.

The construction of the $50 million (N18bn) Transportation University to be located in Daura, Katsina State will start by next year, the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has said.

The university is to be built by China Civil and Construction Company (CCECC) and is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to develop qualified manpower that will manage the many railways facilities across the country and other transportation facilities, Amaechi added.

The minister told journalists in Abuja recently that in addition to Katsina, another Transportation University might be built in Rivers State to meet the growing demand of manpower in the transportation sector.

He said the contract has already been awarded to CCECC and the construction would have commenced if the governor of Katsina State had provided land for it, adding that once the state government provided the land, CCECC will mobilize to site and fence the land for construction to start.

He said the young Nigerians being trained on scholarship in China on Railway Engineering upon completion of their studies would be deployed to teach in those universities for a period of time before they are allowed to do other endeavours.

“If we get the land, the fencing will start this year. The CCECC has written to ask for land from the state government,” he said.

What evil? Establishment of a University? or in Daura?
So what do we call the establishment of Federal University Otuoke? Righteous?
Federal University Otuoke was established alongside eight universities to make sure every state has atleast one university.

Maritime University that was suspended the same time with Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo is currently functional because the Governor and his people fought for it.

Did you complain too...when GEJ sited university in Otuoeke?

Thing is, politicans HAVE always sited prestige projects in their hometown.

Now, I don't like the idea, and I also think we don't need new universites....but that is always how it has been. And that is how it would conmtinue to be, unless your governors and LG chairmen get serious and start developing every nook and cranny of their locality.
The Federal university sited in Otueke was one o the several Federal universities created by the former adminstration spread across the 6 geopolitical zones. So please be careful while trying to compare it with this glaring anomaly the present adminstration is trying to venture into. Note. 'Another one MIGHT be sited in Rivers state' I'm sure the transport minister added that preempting the reactions Well meaning Nigerians will accord this news.

And the transport university is.... A federal university.

Note that I don't think we need the University. I just think it is weird that we can bash Bubu for siting a university in his hometown while others like GEJ get off Scott free.

And Bubu too is setting up other universities as well.the laws establishing them were passed earlier

Anyways, my ultimate point is we don't need these new universities, especially as we are still having finding money issues for the older ones

GEJ was actually clueless and foolish!..... (I'm holding myself back not to use really harsh words).

Look at PMB, that's what brotherhood is all about.
But for 6 years, ogogoro GEJ couldn't even clean up Ogoni land. He didn't even give portable water to his people building good roads for them.

Shame on GEJ!

By the time we get so indebted to china, Nigerians will know that borrowing without investing to get returns is bad and catastrophic.

If the Objective of Otuoke is so that every state got a University (an excuse that's evasive of reality), what is wrong if the Objective of the one in Daura is that every locality at least gets a University

So, that PMB "fought for" a University for Daura is evil but the one at Otukpo "fought for" by a Governor is righteous?

Keep making unnecessary round-about looking for logic grin
