sarrki: I also dont know you to be a hypocrite and you should not start now! The question he asked is very legitimate. Would you rather pretend something does not exist, rather than actually try to find out if it actually exists? Is it right, if that is the case that Soldiers who had spent three years on tour and were heading home, are suddenly told at the Airport that they are starting another tour round? Do you know what it means to be on tour duty for THREE YEARS.... and to come back alive when most of your mates are "wasted" (I said "wasted" because that is the best way to describe the situation where Soldiers on ground are not protected with all means (assets) possible and have to die avoidable deaths For example, why dont we have or deploy aerial reconniasance planes or drones equipped with heat & infra red capabilities, to IDENTIFY location of enemy combatants, then use aerial bombardments to soften them before using Boots on ground to do final mop-up operations, in that order, so as to minimise casualties .......... as opposed to just 'ordering soldiers' to proceed to face enemy fire? Is it that the officers dont really care about the number of Soldiers they lose in battle (in sane climes, Generals that lose the number of soldiers we lose in battle regularly would have been disgraced out of the military for tactical incompetence) or are they saying our soldiers are incompetent, ill-trained and cowards (l refuse to accept that) or that Boko haram Commanders are better and more tactically intelligent than our own commanders? Let me quote the COAS: "Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Yusuf Buratai, yesterday, described the action of the soldiers as strange and unacceptable. Speaking for the first time since the incident in Maiduguri two weeks ago, Buratai said: “The incident at the Maiduguri airport that happened just about two weeks ago is an issue, which ordinarily is unimaginable, that disciplined troops, soldiers will behave in that way. So, he agress that our Soldiers are Disciplined. he agrees that their actions are unimaginable. Then, he should be asking himself: WHAT WENT WRONG, what did he do or did not do, to make disciplined soldiers do that which is unimaginable? It is too easy to just order that they be court-martialed (that could mean death by bullets, at times) because this is not the first time this sort of thing is happening and it is not likely to be the last. Judging by the number of soldiers in the NA, why is it that a few number, (l wont speculate on whether they belong to a particular region though that would throw light on the 'state of mind' of the protesting soldiers and any investigating superior officer worth his pips ought to look at that "statistics", why is it that just a few bunch were in the war front, in active combat, for a whole three years, when it is not even an overseas tour and then when they thought they are going to take a deep breath, the COAS orders them back to the front again? How long should a tour be, really? What was the COAS thinking when he made this order? Is it that we dont have fresh and ready soldiers in reserve anymore that it is only tired soldoers who are worn out after three years of tour, that have to be recycled to face fresh enemy combatants? How long has the COAS himself stayed close to the front, aside one or two 'visits to boost morale'? What manner of decision is that? What is the rationale? Let us not be pretending that all is fine, soldiers, especially Nigerian soldiers, dont disobey a COAS order, except it is a matter of life and death and beyond their control because they know the consequences. This happend at an Airport, what it happened when a Garisson is being run-over, can we imagine the consequence on our collective security? The NA should look beyond just "disobedience", it should establish what was going on when this event happened and what really led to it. Only by doing so will it prevent a reoccurence, whose consequence no one can predict. God Bless our gallant Nigerian Army, its Officers and Soldiers. |

Ugosample: B.Shyte. You should rather keep quiet and not make categorical statements on a matter you have no clue on. But if you must, l challenge you to come up with verifiable proof of your assertion, that they are from the North. Give us names and service Numbers or anything verifiable to back up your claim |

Blue3k: They were not scared, every soldier knows that death is a necessary end and it will come when it will come. They were just TIRED, mentally Tired. Soldiers in such state of mind are better-off sent to rest because they are of no use at the front Platforms refer to support you get from other arms of the military. For example, our soldiers have been working into ambush like blind-folded Ants when the NAF could have done the reconnaisance for them, using equipments that they have (aeiral surveillance, body heat detectors, , e.t.c ), pounded the area tosoften the targets and still do overflights to prevent escape and regrouping. When we fail our soldiers, we then demand that they act like invincibles when in actual fact, they can only become invincible by the amount of equipment and support we accord them. Instead of accepting our failures of leadership, we further worsen the situation by first trying to re-instate discipline, as it that was the original problem, rather than attending to what led to the percieved indicipline.!\ Its worth being a LEADER, rather trying to be a BOSS. 1 Like |

AllahSWT: Tell me one country in the world where serving Officers own luxury homes overseas or own billions in their bank accounts? Tell me one country in the world where military top-brass embezzle money meant to buy weapons to equip their soldiers? Tell me one country in the world where top Brass send their soldiers to the front to face well eqipped enemy combatants and they refuse to support their soldiers with the best equiments and tactis that could ensure victory? If you find that country, such a country has already institutionalised MUTINY in its rank and file, it goes beyomd whether they would tolerate it or not. READ: Nigeria |

Daboomb: At least 60% of those posted there are northern folk Christians and Muslims, but that does not matter because they are from the north, whether Christian or Muslim. And I got my info from reliable sources, because I have enough relatives who are service men. (that is a major reason why I am sympathetic to them) The problem we are having is that this rotation and deployment of a thing is done via connection, meaning that if you have a godfather, you will be less likely to be deployed to the war front. But because southern folks are already biased, stupid people are spreading the narrative that it is southern (Igbo) people that they are sending to the front to die. When Col. Ali was killed, did you check the name of those who died with him in his team? When Lt Haruna was also killed with his squad, did you bother to check the names,,? I will not say more than this, those who know, know what's happening But Nigerians being biased, dumb and stupid are easily manipulated to believe biased narratives |

Send them to be wasted and and corner their allowances and entitlement to Dubai. You dont equipment the soldiers for war yet you send them to fight with boko haram you are paying to get sophisticated equipment to fight the empty soldiers. A times i see this tough talking as a way to coverup their inadequacies. If the are well taken care off and the right equipment are given to them, there will be no reason for their mutinous stance or less Buratai is intentionally doing this so that the soldiers can revolt then punish them just like this. They are quiet aware they not to protest because they signed to die needless death because boko haram was created for selfish power position and now here they are paying them huge money and yet they can no longer stop them as they started them. The SAN (Falana) of the voiceless, your attention is needed again. |
