LEARNING AT A DISTANCE

Studying at NOUN gives you the unique opportunity to study and obtain job/career enhancing degree and certificates at your own pace.

It is however, important for you to note that this method of learning requires new approaches to studying.

Tips About Distance Learning

It will require more self –discipline and responsibility you as you will study at your own pace.Excellent time management skill will be needed to keep up with the pace of work.Study every day because it enables you to spread your work out over a period of time than to attempt to cover too much within a short space time.Set realistic goals for daily studies and keep to them.Develop a weekly study plan. Review your work at the end of each week and modify your plan accordingly.Use a calendar/diary to plan as much as possible.

Hints On How To Study Your Courses

Be focused on your academic pursuit.Carry out all activities recommended.Form self –help study groups with other known NOUN students within your locality, as this will help spur you on to achieve your goals.

Examination tips

Prepared in good time (at least 3 weeks ahead of exam date).Revise your notes and review what you read with your study group.Revise past examination question.Cross check and confirm examination time table and venue in advance.

Writing Examinations, Assignments and Project Reports

Research and gather information before writing out in full.Organise your information and make notes.Remember to number your pages.Make outline and draft of your proposed essay/write –up.Revise and finalise your work.

References

Always acknowledge your references in your essay/write –up.Beware of copyright issues which can also be legal issues.Be creative, but when you do need to copy verbatim you must acknowledge your sources of information

Tutorials

You will have the opportunity to attend tutorials at your study Centre.Attendance at tutorials is, however, optional.

SPY POLICE TRAINING: DVC PRESENTS AWARDS TO NOUN VC

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, academic, Prof. Joy Eyisi, has presented the award of the most valuable student won at the graduation ceremony of Spy Police training in Lagos.

Eyisi, alongside other 10 NOUN staff, graduated from the college at Ikeja after their 3-month training.

On his part, the VC saluted the DVC for her humility in undergoing such training despite her status.

National Open University Nigeria NOUN School Fees For New and Returning Students 2018

Hello. I had to register here cuz I couldn't comment on the site.

Please I'll like to apply for admission this semester and would like to know if mathematics is part of the compulsory courses required for Mass communication and/or English.

I also want to know if 36k is the exact compulsory fee or 45k for B.Sc/BA

Can I pay for application online without going to the bank? If yes, how?

And finally, I generated rrr last month when I thought I was ready to apply. Can I still use it or generate another one?

Thanks and sorry for the plenty questions

The action of most NOUN staff can be so discouraging. I finished a program with them and there's been discrepancies on credit unit between when I registered them and what obtains presently, so I don't really know how many credit units I've attained so far especially as it is not stated on the result portal, only for me to go and make enquiries on the number of credit units I've earned so far so I know if I'm eligible to collect my certificate, but they were damn so rude. One even asked if he's the one to count it for me. I have the list of registerable courses and their credit units but some are different from what is on my course registration slip when I registered back then, so I don't know which they are following. I've done all my courses, except one or two elective courses, I just want to know so I can prepare myself to register this semester to meet up or just prepare for my certificate if I'm already eligible.
This school is so discouraging and if my effort remains futile, I would take it very personal.
End of rant

Awww!! Sorry about that. I could understand your pain because I passed through the system and I know how rudely some of their staffs are. I kept on saying it and will still keep saying it, I can never advice anyone to go to Noun. I know what I experienced there.
Their staff in minna study center are nice thou and a few from ilorin center too. Why don't you meet with the counselor and enquire about it.
Cheers!!!

* You can still use the previous rrr number or generate another one.

Hi guys, i just followed a guide here to apply for the MSc. program at NOUN. I was directed to a payment page and made online payment of 7500 which was successful. After redirection to the site, I get this error "Wrong Unique ID". I tried to use the reprint option but I'm still getting the same error.

On the Remita Payment Slip, I have Authorization ref , RRR but there is no unique ID. How do I get the unique ID?
