Hello House, I am a funded student coming to University of Saskatchewan this Fall. However I don't have enough funds to get an accommodation immediately. I will be waiting for my first stipends by end of September to be able to get an apartment.
My problem now is where to stay for this one month, pending when I get my stipend. Please is there someone in Saskatoon that would be willing to accommodate me as room mate for a month, the I reimburse him with half of his rent at the end of the month?
Please did you submit GRE and TOEFL to get admitted?

Thank you for the explanation @Chimah3.

Please my fellow scholars, can anybody in London, Ontario offer me few days accommodation to settle in and secure my own accommodation?

I don't want to pay before inspecting the room and so will need where to lay my head and luggages while i make the arrangement.

I will land in Toronto on 18th of September will likely take airport cab/bus to Lindon.

Please kindly pm me if you can help.
Please what school did you apply to? And did you submit TOEFL and GRE?

Hello, house. For most of us aspiring to study in Canada. If I am not able to get a scholarship or any financial support here. Is it possible to get a student loan and how are other Nigerians there copping with the school fees apart from other expenses your work hours can cover.

Please refer to the official Canadian government immigration site. The quotes below are from the link:

Working or studying in Canada
Most visitors to Canada are not allowed to work or study in Canada without permission.

You must apply for a work permit or a study permit before coming to Canada. If you are visiting Canada and you want to work or study, you must leave Canada and apply from your home country.

Nigerian students in Canada please don't forget us when you get to Canada... Lots of questions have been asked here but very little response.

Hello Bukella, Honestly i am guilty of this as Canada (Toronto) is not what many made me think it is. I am a seneca student doing my secong PGD program. I came in January 2018 and Toronto has its ups and downs....but i thing you should prepare for is the cost

Do not come here thinking your part-time job (if you find one) can offset your school fees and living costs. on average rent here is about $800...with the lowest ive heard of being $500.

My school is good, but i promise you, the amount of work required (its not hard, its just plenty research and work).....and please...do not even think of plagiarism ( more on that later)

Ive promised to come online at least once weekly to help those that need information, because information is the most important thing here (well, after networking). Please try to ask any particular questions you may have

on here btw, i hardly respond to emails

5k per term...a term is 4 months....which means to make your school fees back, you need to make $1250 a month....which is 312.5 per week and with a maximum of 20 hours a week (some say 24, but ill rather play it safe) you need a $16 per hour job.......just to offset school fees
rent, phone, food, health insurance, things like books

i wouldn't say its IMPOSSIBLE....but at bare minimum have your school fees to make things easier on yourself and body

I really want to say that nothing is impossible because where there is a will there is always a way. If your fees are $5k a term u could decide to start ur studies in winter and still have the opportunity to work full-time from may-september (beginning) maybe three or two jobs can really help ( I know lots of girls that work two jobs during the four months break one start by 9am-5pm in of place and do overnight job in places like Walmart 11pm to 7am) is not really easy( if a girl/lady can work that hard during the four months break it made me to stop and ask myself some questions). Believe me I have meet other nationality who do not depend on anyone (sponsors) to pay there bills.
You can always apply for scholarship the are really lot of it and could go a long way to in slashing your fees. Apply for as many of those scholarship as possible even if you don't meet all the requirements some times you will end up getting two to three scholarship, which is really helpful.
