Good morning House, I've got a few enquiries. I'm applying to do a PGD in Canada in the Sept next year. * I've been in business for 7 years now, what are the requirements I'll need for my student visa application as an entrepreneur? * Is it a good idea to do a course that changes my career completely? (I want to try and eliminate any reason for refusal of Student permit) * Can i apply for student permit in November considering that i'm seeking for admission in Sept 2019? * Any general advice for me? Thanks in anticipation. |

bumblebeed: To answer your questions 1. Reading from page 0 is your friend. 2. No it is not a good idea. However, if you can show why you'll need to do this you might have a shot with a good SOP. 3. You can start your admission early as soon as you gather all your documents. However I'd advise you to begin early next year as that's when most school will open admissions. For further clarification read from page 0! |

bumblebeed: You seemed to be a calm person from your write up. Please do us a little favor and read from 1 to page 14 (it cannot take more than 1 hr of your time) then come back to ask any misunderstanding you must have encountered. After reading 1-14 Then the gurus will answer your question 3 and question 4. My opinion though someone can still answer all your questions. 1 Like |

You are not alone. Just have it in mind that your approval is very close to you. Have you send them a mail? 2 Likes |

Henkubert: At this point, I don't think there is anything anyone here can do concerning your ongoing application. When is your resumption date? You may want to defer your admission to winter as most schools in Canada has already resumed for the fall. Also, try sending a CSE to the processing visa office. |

Henkubert: Bross, you are not alone in this boat. I applied online June 11, got medical request 23rd of August, did medicals on the 27th and updated as passed on the 31st of August. I’m yet to get an update from CIC. 2 Likes |

COPR: The applicant is asking if he can renew his passport before submitting to CIC for visa stamping and not the other way round. Therefore, the answer should be NO, when he has finally received his stampped Canadian visa passport he can then apply for a renewal. |

The applicant should apply for passport renewal before submitting to CIC it should be noted that the visa will be issued in line with the submitted passport validity period, the applicant should read through the passport request letter from CIC where passport status is clearly stated. There are many places he can get the passport renewal done same day that will not affect the deadline with CIC. Frankrobbn1: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by COPR: 9:41am On Sep 18, 2018 |
Frankrobbn1: The validity of his passport determines the length of his visa. Let me rephrase, if his passport has one month validity, CIC will issue one month visa for him. And when he applies for renewal at NIS, he will be issued a new passport and NIS will render the old one invalid. Do you get the point now? The decision is his to make. 1 Like |

You should apply for passport renewal before submitting to CIC, remember that the visa will be issued in line with the submitted passport validity period and also it is clearly stated on the passport request letter from CIC that the visa will issued for validity duration of the passport hence since you just 6mths for expiration I will advise you renew and have a longer validity date for the visa. There are many places you can get the passport renewal done same day especially in Abuja that will not affect the deadline with CIC. Doyenrey: |

COPR:Oga this issue has been argue here before and Frankrobbn1 is talking from experience. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 9:57am On Sep 18, 2018 |
Chievoo: The reason why I said the applicant should wait is because of the deadline stated by CIC on his passport request letter. Since you confirmed that there is an office in Abuja that can renew this passport within a day or two. The applicant should go ahead and renew it. Personally, I prefer getting my stamped passport first before renewing my passport. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by MeinKampf: 9:59am On Sep 18, 2018 |
COPR:being invalid doesn't mean the visa there is not valid. He or she will only need to carry both passports ('invalid' & new) . You can easily get your new passport stamped in Canada to reflect the expected validity you are supposed to get. It's never an issue whether the person choose to renew passport now or not 1 Like |
