SMH to Reno and everyone here falling for his ignorance. HSBC is not a Chinese bank ignore the name. It's a UK bank!! If you know history you'll know that Hong Kong was a British territory up until just 1997. That Bank was formed in Hong Kong (British territory) with branches in Shanghai by UK bankers and merchants in the 19th century when the Chinese Tea trade was booming hence why the name.
