Rerun elections slated for September 27 in Osun are to hold in seven polling unit across four local government areas.
One polling unit each is in Ife North and Osogbo; two are in Ife South, and three are in Orolu local government area.
INEC declared the rerun after it announced the Osun governorship elections “inconclusive” on Sunday.
It said it had to cancel 3498 votes in the affected areas. The numbers left a difference of 353 between the main contenders APC and PDP.

Despite PDP’s 353-vote margin over APC, all 48 parties will take part in the rerun, INEC said.

Sadly, that is not the position of the law. INEC must conclude the election that was started yesterday by conducting election in areas where votes were cancelled. If none of the candidates could still fulfil the legal requirements to be declared winner, a run-off election is then conducted only among the two leading candidates.

Didnt INEC declare that election results are inconclusive?

There is no point rejecting, pdp will still triumph, the pple are tired of apc. I expect pdp to still carry the day.
Appeal to omisore and he will direct his supporters to give pdp their votes.

More like APC is saying " let's take a few more days to re-strategize on how to rig this thing more convincingly...we can also buy off Omisore who will i turn sell his people's votes to us in those areas and let's make PDP waste more money before declaring them loser on the 27th"
So INEC mean to tell us that Osun people still turned out this much to vote for APC after all they went through under Aregbe for 7 years!
There can never be free and fear elections in Nigeria as long as these heartless APC remain in government.

They will still vote PDP, most of them.

To the best of my knowledge, Ife generally has always been a stronghold for PDP while APC has Osogbo.

Let's wait till Thursday, I see APC emerging as the winning party. APC has strategies while PDP likes ranting on social media.

Someone said I concur: Who wins is none of my business, what am after is that the constitution needs to be amended concerning electing our political office holders.
How can the constitution says someone who wants to contest for post of governor or president must have senior school certificate but nowadays if graduates are looking for employment they will say minimum of second class upper.

It is not. There was no illegality in declaring the election inconclusive. The only foul have seen is the reduction of 1000 votes from pdp in ayedaade. If that wasn't done, the rerun would have been less tense.
By the way, of the 3.4k+ eligible for the rerun, less than 1.5k will come out. Both party will try and get everyone to come out. The voters register should be obtained and they should be located asap in preparation for then rerun.

time for pdp to strike a bargain with omisore
