Religion and common sense do not mix.

I can't remember the last time I saw a bible. Seeing all those verses on the first page gave me headache...

saying women are inferior to men, because they don't have same physical strength. Is akin to saying the white race is superior to the black race because they have more mental strength. After all, the white man produced almost every gadamn thing blacks use.

If you don't agree to the later, but you agree to the former, you are either a hypocrite or a stupid goat.

The issue of 'submission' especially, that word has been so bastardized and manipulated to suit men's selfish desire. What that word has caused is not something small.
when u it has been "bastardized and manipulated to suit men's selfish desire", what exactly do u mean? Is it God that is responsible 4 this bastardisation&manipulation? Sorry about d questions but I need 2b sure we are on d same page

This woman is becoming a menace and rogue in the society, we need to declare her incommunicado.

Xavier5:
She is right and I support her 100%, the Bible as a whole supports the equality of both sexes. The only scenario where men are made head over the women is in marriage. Secularly, they are equal.

When we talk about Equality of Male and Females we aren't talking about it literarily. Literarily, Male and females can never be equal. They were created, wired and programmed differently. They aren't the same morphologically, physiologically, anatomically, physically, behaviorally and attitudally. So they can't be the same because if things are said to be equal that means they are the same in all ramifications.
When we talk about Equality, we are talking about rights and privileges of both sexes. If one sex enjoys certain privileges or rights, then the other sex have every right to enjoy it also.

I will soon create a thread on the topic of FEMINISM, THE BIBLE AND SUBMISSION to elaborate more on this issue and clear the misunderstanding on it.

#Xavier.
Then you should be clamouring for EQUITY not equality...equity for all humans despite gender..there are reasons men are much suited to physical engagement(due to their physical strength) just like you opined above.

feminism has taken her brain away from her that makes her to reason like a fool.
She said Jesus treated women as equal to him but did not make or appoints any woman Apostle. Why then?

interesting! So wives should submit......and the husband shoudnt submit too? But authoritatively holding on to his order's without an input from the wife?

Which love are you even talking about too when the husband does not submit to the wive too for love sake.

One thing is to read the bible and another to understand.

Your last sentence clearly describes you.

you need to calm down bro.... you sound like you're taking it a little too personal

Apostle Paul wrote the letter.

and prior to verse 22
Ephesians 5:21-33 New International Version (NIV)
Instructions for Christian Households
"21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."
- this is often left out, you start to wonder why?

I know why.....when you don't have control over yourself and your emotions you start to find ways to control others.
That is the previous verse which was talking about how the Christian gold should act, it wasn't talking about marriage. When that chapter now talked about marriage, it said wives should summit.
.So in essence, we are to all submit in a Christian gathering, burning a marriage, it is the wife that should submit to her husband.

Bro you lie, those are not the words of Jesus but of Paul. Read your Bible very well, Paul clearly stated there that those were his opinions and not a law!!
Where Paul was given his opinion, he stated clearly that that was his opinion. But in the passage quoted, he never said he was given his opinion. He was simply given inspired words endorsed by Jesus Christ.

Please dont play pranks with the Bible.

That's what they tell you. But ask yourself, is it not the family setting and it's order all this feminists are bothered about? Or in what way is the society still discriminating against women?

Don't be deceived bro. The attack is on marriage just as Satan did in the Garden of Eden.

Men are asking far from what should be their limit, you know they like to over do things. And passing that limit only interprets to oppression.

When you reply, pls know what you're talking about. I don't argue for just the sake of it.

I quoted the Bible plain and simple and you're telling me it is not what it says but something else?

You quoted the Bible out of context. That verse says we are to submit as Christians when we are together. But you twisted it to mean husband and wives should submit to each.

The Bible proved you wrong in the following verses when it stated what a wife should do, which is to SUBMIT, while the husband is to LOVE his wife. If that verse you quoted out of context was really talking about the marriage scene, then the succeeding verses would have stated that men should submit to their wives also, but it didn't.

I can't support her first statement on Jesus and feminism, but I do support her second statement right here.
She made a lot of sense

WotzupNG:
A member of the audience pointed out that men and women were created differently, therefore it is flawed to say they are equal.

He said:

In reply, Chimamanda explained that men and women are indeed different, but equal.

She said:

Love is greater than submission. That's what most of you don't know. Read 1st Corinthians chapter 13 vs 4 - 8a to understand what love is.

How many men love their wives yet they keep blabing about submission. How many men can give up their lives for their wives? When people begin to understand what love is, there will no problems in marriages. I don't see how a man will claim to love his wife yet oppress her and make her feel worthless. Love conquereth all. If a man loves his wife properly, I tell you, his wife will totally submit to him except of course he married a Jezebel.

alBHAGDADI:

You and Chimamanda should keep shut.

Jesus Christ said wives should be submissive to their husband because he is the head of the wife. Feminism kicks against that.

Ephesians 5:22-33 (KJV)

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Wives are to submit and Husbands are to love. That is what Jesus passed on to his disciples which Satan is trying to change today.

Ephesians. The words in Ephesians were not uttered by Jesus; and Chimamanda was speaking specifically about Jesus.
