So you expect not to see or meet anybody or movement on the street/road at all abi? You must be an alien to Lagos State and to Nigeria as a whole.

So you expect government staff to be in office by 6.43am ? Beside, this is the first day of strike. You don't expect all gov offices to just shut off over night. Many are yet to get the memo.
So, just chill and watch...

This op sef....are you an illiterate? Even if you saw peeps does it mean they are government civil servant? Or you are not aware that some civil servant will just like to breeze into their parastatals just to see what's up while some won't bother going or you have forgotten also of private school teachers who are rushing already to work cos they are not for the government ? In addition, are you a newbie in lag to be aware of the population in Lagos and to drive home my point...its NLC strike and not a stay home curfew for the whole state ok!!!!

Wait and see wetin? Today is environmental in all markets. Most self-employed people will never participate in this their useless strike.

The market men/women will soon open their shops after the environmental. Many states are yet to implement the 18k and NLU have not be taking action in states where governors are owning salaries.

Labour Union are so selfish and only fight for their interests, there are many casual workers without letter of employment in Nigeria and labour isn't doing anything about it. There is this issue of age barrier and discrimination where public and private sector will not give you job because of your age even though you are qualified.

These are also part of what labour union should be fighting for. Minimum wage is a constitution if signed into law, at it stand today, not all state can implement what they are fighting for.

I just drove past Alausa Secretariat, it is total lockdown, staffs and staff buses are all parked outside, no one is allowed in.

Most of these strikes don't take total effect until after some few days

Hmm funny opinion, strikes like this affect Government workers first, if it continues other sectors of the economy now follows, Lagos obviously has a larger strata of firms strikes don't affect, so feeling the effect on the morning of the very first day quite difficult.

There is no strike in lagos ooo....I wont be surprised if banks are even opened today. The mistake d Labour congress made was that they didnt carry the NURTW along if not it may have been a total clamp down......on my way to work nothing unusual so far
Re: Nigeria Labour Congress Strike Not Effective In Lagos by Daeylar(f): 7:21am On Sep 27, 2018
The market men/women are not receiving minimum wage in the first place, why would they lock their shops? The strike doesn't affect them,
I wonder why NLC should say markets shouldn't open.
