These were broke hunter-gatherers who never developed agriculture, it's doubtful they had any precious stones or gold.

That's a whole team of scientists working there with government funding, they won't rob graves, if anything precious is found it's put in museums. Grave robbing was 19th century, all the hoards of gold coins and jewelry I saw at various museums around the world have been found by archaeologists like these.

It's a process called carbon dating.
Every piece of matter emits some electrons at a steady rate.

You measure the rate of emission from something that you know the exact age.
Write down the result
You then measure the rate of emission from the thing you don't know the age. Work out the maths and get the age. It is very accurate because you first test many samples of things you know their ages to make sure the equipment is correct before testing the one you don't know the age.

Try to always realise that each time you see Oyibo people, you are usually looking at only one tribe. Their whole country is one tribe. One language. They have passed through wars and battles in the past before resulting in only one tribe, one language, NO traditional rulers.
They can easily cooperate and work together

Nigeria alone has more than 300ethnic groups, more than 300 traditional rulers. Different languages, beliefs customs. If not for English, none of us will be even talking to each other talkless of forming one country. We are in a transitional stage.

Its called radioactive dating. All element/molecules have half life (t½) which is a period of time where half of that element/molecule decays off, releasing radiation. The radiation is captured and measurements are made to identify when they were originally released, thus estimating the appx age of the object being studied, in this case, human skeleton (which is rich in calcium, potassium, carbon etc).
If the DNA could be extracted (I doubt it could be, the life span of DNA molecule is 521yrs), analysis could be made to establish the persons race, ancestry (religion too??), traces of diseases etc.

The 2nd one, age of the earth, I'll love to say something on it too but God I'm getting lazier by the days.

One very reliable method is carbon dating (radio-carbon dating). You see, organic matters contain carbon. A particular type of carbon called Carbon-14 (C-14) is in the environment/air. Unlike Carbon-12, C-14 is an unstable Isotope. That is it decays with time. Maybe you know of the concept of half-life from school chemistry. Though C-14 has a long half-life of over 5,700 years. Some other isotopes' half-life is minutes, seconds or millions of years. Note that an unstable isotope can decay into an entirely new, stable element. Like the radio-active C-14 decays into non-radio-active and stable Nitrogen-14.

Anyway as plants & animals live, they take C-14 from the environment, be it in the form of the oxide or otherwise. Plants take in C-14 in carbon dioxide which may settle in the plant tissue (e,g, Ugwu leaves). Humans then eat ugwu leaves and the C-14 settles/deposits in the bone.

But as soon as the plant or animal (including humans) die, they stop taking in C-14 from the environment/air/food. From that point on, the C-14 they took in when alive starts to breakdown/decay. So when you find a fossil/skeleton/wood, you can then use the decaying C-14 in the bone or wood to calculate back when the decay started. So the C-14 in the bone of someone who died 5,000 years ago will have "technically" decayed far more than one of someone who died 300 years ago. This is not really physical decay of the flesh but of the C-14 isotope it took in before it/he died.

This is a simple way to put it.

As for age of the earth calculation, it still boils down to radio-activity. Using Radiometric/radio-active dating, the oldest materials found on earth or moon surface contain certain radioactive isotopes. These materials may be stone samples from meteorites. These can just be impure radioactive bits left in these ancient samples. Some are isotopes decaying at a constant rate. Like the above isotopes in dating age of bones, these are used to calculate back age of the meteorite samples. Combining these samples findings with studies of the earth's strata/rock layers have given earth's age to be roughly 4.5 billion years plus or minus.

So what if meteorites are still buried in the earth that will suggest the earth is even older if found and studied??

I believe the last word is not spoken yet regarding how old the earth is.
