Abiola looked like he was living large. The pics is quite contradicting of his biography, which summarized that he was in abject poverty during his school days before university. and that the first time he ate fried egg was in the house of Late Kudirat.

You can cover up a lot with good posture and confidence. Don't judge him with the pics.

Hmmm... that's what the quest for power, goodies and pride of the world can do. You think they love you ba? They are the people who will sell your secrets for money if you are vying for a political post in future. It's then love can be tested. And you say you love them, if you are a bad person too blinded by power and money you will also sell them and become their greatest enemies. Good places to test the love of men are in the arena of power and money. It's a place of betrayal. There, childhood pals become enemies. It's only those who have righteousness or goodness in them that pass the test.

Wow. Didn't even know they attended the same school or were contemporaries.

Anytime I see old pictures like this one I normally wonder where the other people in the pictures are right now.

Looking at this picture I can't help but wonder if MKO had any inkling what the future held in store for him and Obasanjo too.

That's life my brother... pictures like this bring nostalgic feelings of sweetness and sorrow to me. So many experiences and hurdles to cross in life. I do wonder even at my dad's pictures how those days must have been for them.

The picture is real .......

MKO was the president while OBJ was his vice of the school editorial board.
They were both great from different aspect of life.

OBJ is evil while MKO is a religious fanatic. He believes too much in Islam, though he built churches but it was all propaganda.

We voted for Muslim/Muslim ticket then all because we don’t want military rule again but God knows it would be disastrous for the Christians if we have president and his vice to be Muslims hence the election didn’t see the light of the day.
God even used another Muslim who is a friend to MKO to destroy the mission.

OBJ was always envious of MKO because MKO was all he never was. There was always unhealthy competition from him toward MKO, even after MKO died. OBJ has some ingrained issues and insecurities sha. MKO always looked like he would be a great man. Some people are just born to be great. No matter how you try, you can’t compete even after their death.

yes,he was. He was d senior prefect then while obj just just a punctuality prefect
Fela was their junior then and Fela father was the school Principal
History had it that Abiola though the senior prefect was so quite and loved by the juniors while Obj was so arrogant,bossy and always acted like the senior prefect to discipline the younger ones

I didn't belief the story before until now that I'm seeing their pic together

I very much believe this line because those bullish traits obviously grew well with OBJ as we all can attest to till this day...

These generations enjoy Nigeria. They had the best of everything in Nigeria then. Jobs, education, infrastructure, name it. VISA free to most countries, educational scholarship here and there .

My dad had about 6 jobs waiting for him upon graduation. He said employers will often come to universities to canvas for best students, you need a new car, electronics, etc the loan is there waiting for you.

Fast forward to 80s and 90s, Nigeria became a mess.

While you have a valid point, employers still go to schools to recruit till today. They may not be much though.
