The cutoffs seen for now are the merit cutoffs, I don't know about the ELDS cutoffs yet.
The ELDS cutoffs will be available when the cutoffs marks list is officially released from the ui website.
What u can do for now is to pray and be hopeful
U are 0.25 mark from the merit cutoff so u still have a chance

Hmmm thank you so much boss. Patialy relieved. I Hope God have mercy on me..
Pls boss i dnt get the 0.25 according to the released cut off 70. I had 67.5 thats 2.5 away. Boss do u mean its lower than 70 ?? If am 0.25 down?

Sorry I taught it was 0.25 mark away.
I just saw that the ELDS cutoff for dentistry is 68.75
U have to still stay strong and be hopeful anything is possible

That's serious, do UI have second batch where they consider other students? My brother is 0.75 mark below the cut off point. He picked Law 74 aggregate.

It is only God that can stop you from getting mbbs.
There is always second list, which always have a lower cutoff.

I knew people who didn't meet 71.88% cutoff for mbbs but were later considered.

Is there also second list for Law, and what's the chances of someone with 74 since Merit cut off is 74.75

Pm Edulanders,
With regards to the leaked cut off mark, I had 75+ as my aggregate and am going for MBBS. It is obvious I don't meet its cut off mark. My Dad then called a lecturer in Ui, who advised I change to either of: Chemistry, statistics, Forest Resources, Wildlife and ecotourism, Agricultural science, etc.

But my question is as follows:
1. If I go ahead and study any of the following courses, what's my chance of securing a job after graduation and subsequently making it in life.
2. After taking it up, can I still change to any medical course?
3. WilI be happy studying it?

And to the bosses in the medical college...
4. Do you feel superior to your colleagues who changed to a less competitive course along the way
5. like how many attempt(s) do you make before getting Medicine and its related field as a course.
6. Will you advise I take it up like that or wait till next year?

Thanks in anticipation.
And please ma/sir I need frank and brotherly responses

Once again, thanks in anticipation.

With regards to the leaked cut off mark, I had 55.125 as my aggregate and am going l l laboratory science. It is obvious my mark can't reach its requirements. see my bro, no profession is superior to the other, all medical courses and related medical courses are not superior to any profession and no course can determine your success in life...I have always had dat thought in mind dat no matter the course I study there is always an opportunity to make impact poitively and also amass wealth...in fact d only thing in those courses Is job security, I have never heard of a doctor being in d forbe list of d richest in the world...bill gate and dangote are not medical doctors....I respect medicine as a course and other related medical courses too but they will only make u comfortable and not make u rich....whichever course u choose study it well and see a way u can use it to solve a problem in d world trust me u r wealthy already....prepare ur mind to be an employer of labour and not a job searcher....u can apply to chemistry among d courses u listed above, what Is not chemistry on earth, virtually nothing and everything on earth revolve round chemistry....I also applied to chemistry UI and I beat d cutoff following d leaked cutoff posted above...my 10k

If ur aggregate is the cutoff u are definitely secured.
U may not necessarily be the last person because other candidates can as well have the same cutoff as yours. U guys will be considered the lucky ones

I agree with you bro @ iles199, medicine and surgery can be a dumping ground for talents(Although I respect them o, medical Doctors) .. Think about it if Mark Zuckerberg was hard pressed on becoming a Doctor or Bill gates insisting he will take a medical course... This is not a loser mentality, it is Just the truth.. We all have naturally instilled talents, connect it with your profession then link them to your purpose,i believe you will make impact...

To add to what iles199 has posted I will answer ur question 1 by 1
1. Anyone can make it in life whether u go to school or not.Or whether u study any particular course or not. It boils down to ur attitude. Set a goal and standard for urself work towards it diligently u will be on the track of success.
Putting connection aside,
Ur chance of securing job depends firstly on your attitude. I have come across 2.2 2.1 and third class graduates who secured jobs for themselves due to their fighting spirit, personal skills and characters. So personal development is required.
Secondly it depends on ur grade when u grad. A first class graduate has a higher chance and more opportunities than a 2.1 graduate. A 2.1 has a higher chance and opportunities than a 2.2 graduate. Provided they can proof their worth with their personal characters and skills.
I advice u to aim for a first class or at least a 2.2 if u take up other course.
2. After taking any of the course u mentioned up u can still change to any medical course but I know that if it is possible it is very difficult to do so in ui.
3. Most people gradually and eventually fall in love with the course they changed to and some do thank God for not giving them the course they initially wanted. They later realized that is where their strength and/or passion lies.
U will be happy studying it when u began to find real life applications of ur course.
Am not yet in the medical college but I sha made it this year.
4. Remove superiority from ur mindset. No course on earth is superior to another.
Some are just challenging and harder. They all serve different functions and work together to achieve a common goal.
None can work effectively without others.
If u meet any practicing doctor u can ask him/her this.
The doctors (practicing doctors) I have come across are very nice (most especially the female ones) it still amaze me how they keep their passion burning considering the challenges they face.
I have once met a rude doctor (practicing doctor) but nonetheless everyone is different and no one is perfect.
Any doctor who feels superior to another is probably having a personal issue.
5. Mine was 5 attempts and all are solely my faults. But I never wasted my time during these periods. I once attended a A level program. The most important thing is not to waste ur time cos even jamb can be unpredictable. U can go to other tertiary institutions or polytechnic and during this period still attempt jamb again.
My first and second attempt was due to my in experience and ineffective time management and I was just two and thee marks away respectively. I overcame this ineffective time management by answering past questions under exam conditions almost every day.
My third attempt was due to prof. Dibu for cancelling pume.
My fourth attempt was due to lack of dedication. I never knew that to get MBBS thorough dedication and perseverance, with hardwork, smart work and sacrifice are required.
On one year, I prepared for jamb for only 2 weeks and still scored 256.
Last year I used just 1 week to prepare and I scored 286.
I always had this taught that if I get to the exam hall I will know what to do without having to prepare thoroughly and well before hand.
U can see that I was never dedicated. I managed to get aggregate of 70.125 but the cutoff rose to 80 something. I learnt that MBBS cutoff can be unpredictable.
This year was my first ui post utme attempt. I forgave myself of all my past mistakes and started preparing since November and never slowed down except that world cup month that distracted me a little bit. I even did jamb mock exam so that I can predict the real jamb score I would get
6. I will advice u to look within u and measure ur academic strength and weaknesses if u will be able to achieve a aggregate of at least 80% (MBBS cutoff can be unpredictable) to be safe. If u can't then take the course like that don't waste ur time.
While u take up that course u can always still pursue and achieve ur dream course provided ur passion is still burning and u are willing to be dedicated.

I knw dat workmanship applies to mbbs, tho m not sure of dentistry(dey are both six yrs courses). I jst want to ask a simple question if workmanship also applies for oda courses under college of medicine in UI lyk physiology, physiotherapy, nursing, biochemistry nd sum others in UI.
It's jst dat are dey going to wear d same NYSC uniforms d corps member do wear.
Anoda question, I knw u can't matric twice in UI but is it possible sumone with degree in courses under college of medicine at UI apply through direct entry 2 study MBBS in d same UI since he/she would be admitted to 200l. It's jst 4 knowing sake nd m sure it's going to enlighten sum folks beta abt dat on dis thread, thanks.

point of correction sir it is housemanship \internship and not work manship
the only courses in the college of medicine that does internship are medicine dentistry physiotherapy medical lab science and nursing
it is done immediately after graduation
it is different from nysc
after internship such an individual will proceed for his nysc
don't have an idea about your second question concerning matric

Sometimes there is no 2nd list if too many candidates fall a little below the cutoff .

For example, in 2015, over 150 aspirants scored between 70-73, due to that, there was no 2nd list.

UI got back their accreditation for pharmacy sometimes this , I guess that is the reason it didn't appear during jamb registration, but I'm sure many people did change of course to pharmacy when it was certain UI will be giving admission into pharmacy. Besides, if UI is not going to be giving admission into any department, it will be stated on the school portal, and you should have tried to call the admission office to confirm.

Funny enough, cut off for pharmacy is 61, which is very low compared to other professional courses. I guess few people actually applied for the course and I'm sure majority of the few will be lucky with that cut off mark.

He still stand a chance, I won't be surprised if his name comes out in the merit list.

Department like sociology and political science allow their students to cross to law and law accepts students from these departments, however, the competition is tough because only students with strong second class upper and first class are considered.
