Nigeria @ 58: Why Nigeria Is Not Great – Pastor Kumuyi by mrakeli62(op): 6:52am On Oct 01, 2018
General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church Worldwide, Pastor William Kumuyi, on Sunday said Nigeria had been unable to march its development with inherent possibilities because of the people’s failure to either harness or utilise the nation’s diversity for their collective greatness.

He said that Nigeria was endowed with resourceful citizens who could drive the nation to envious heights.

However, he regretted that contentions and divisions had deprived the citizens of personal and national greatness in times past.

Kumuyi stressed that Nigeria would be on the path to greatness if citizens were united and there was a harmonious coordination of the nation’s diversities.

He said: “No doubt, our nation, like the Corinthian church, is endowed with highly resourceful citizens by the Almighty God.

“Selfless and committed to our national development, we could easily become the envy of many nations but our national development has not matched our great possibilities like Corinth.

“Each one has an important part to play in the development of the nation.

“In the nation, mutual support and encouragement, sincere recognition and involvement of all well-meaning and qualified citizens are necessary to avoid wastage of lives and resources.

“We can and we must put the past behind us to build a great nation for the present and the coming generations.

“Interdependent, interconnected, interrelated, we are on our way to national greatness: we are unstoppable.”

Hmmm...as someone rightly mentioned, Nigeria's proɓlems have defied all academic theories available for now. Ƴou cannot ɓe unified on a faulty founɗation. Anɗ to the very religious folƙs, I ɗouɓt if praƴers is the solution too. This is ɓecause Nigerians praƴ anɗ are still praying. Ƴou can harɗlƴ hear a success story tolɗ ɓy a Nigerian without a recourse to the name "Goɗ." Well, if science is anything to go ɓƴ in this situation, every proɓlem has a solution. Hopefullƴ, some ɗay soon, we shall get it right.

What exactly is 'independent' about a country that depends on others for its financial stability? Can a man who still depends on his parents for stipends be called an independent man or is he just a child disguised as an adult?

Why is all the prayer and fasting not working in Nigeria?

U men of religion are also part of the rot.

Can't differentiate them from politicians and traditional kings or chiefs

Endorsed. A simple - but difficult - act of change of ethical leanings by at least 25 percent of independent-minded and productive Nigerians of different ethnic groups will automatically change the cause of the country for good.

Hmmm, how can there be unity when right from homes, some children are loved more than the others hereby setting them on hate race.

when some set of few rich folks have an estate with gates to separate themselves from the rest due to fear of the unknown.

when some so called voted leaders who could barely own a plot of land now live their dream by putting under close detention what was meant for the public.

This issue can only be fixed from homes, when parents love their children equally, wives are satisfied with what their husbands bring home legitimately and leaders live up to the expectation of the mandates given to them

As usual....

They talk and talk

No action...

This pastors could find ways to effect change from their churches first...

Work no dey work no dey why not create work for their members? Start a manufacturing plant with the offering money they use for private jets... And employ their members to work there...

With Men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible
Re: Nigeria @ 58: Why Nigeria Is Not Great – Pastor Kumuyi by Timil:
Nigerian's pray, fast and conduct vigils like no other country yet they suffer and their country rot like no other country.

Instead of taking some necessary actions they are dependent on a God who can never come down to clean up their mess and make their nation better.

The average Nigerian has seen religion as the way to success where as the way to success is with our thoughts and our actions.

Nigerian's want a better life but they are not ready to do the maths that begets a better life.

You can pray, fast and conduct vigils from today till 2050 Nigeria will still keep on retrogressing because the only thing you do is pray and hope on God to give you a better country.

God will not come down to govern us, God won't come down to fight boko haram, God won't come down to give us a working system, God won't come down to give us strong institutions.

We must do all this by ourself if we want a better Nigeria, God won't do them for us.

"Action is the key, not prayer and fasting"
