I'm not trying to sound funny. But if I were you my emails to them will be a lot more forceful. I will write with lines like: "V.O. I'm running a risk of losing my studentship with the delay of my visa application and as you may well know - I invested a lot in gaining this merit scholarship, please if there's anyway I can help to expedite the evaluation of my application kindly let me know". I believe it's undoubtedly ungodly what these V.Os' are doing to you, so there's no need for you to keep remaining in the closet. You need to let them know that you're are hurting, for me it doesn't smack of any desperation.

I submitted my visa application on the 30th of August online route, I did upfront medicals I got my biometrics done the next day and the medicals have been updated as passed on the 9th of Sept. Despite that my application is just barely a month, I'm beginning to grow restless, I've even started sending them mails and I will keep bombarding them with mails until they respond and hopefully favorably.

One more thing do you know the visa consulate handling your application?

Thanks for the advice. No man is an island. I could stand to be forceful and I have just done that today, sent another email been more forceful. But to say I am hurting would not be the truth. To say that might even reek desperation to the VO. I have a great life in Nigeria and could build a bright future here too. I am clearly not hurting. Whenever they choose to process me at this point is their business. I am not going to put my life on hold for them so that if it doesn't work out, I become not useful to my country. I want to avoid that pitfall. My hands are on the plough. One with God is majority. Thanks again and wishing all success. I will come here from time to time to answer questions and dole out nuggets of wisdom I was opportuned to learn throughout the process. Cheers!

Hi,

I dont think at this stage, you should be reluctant to send them email reminders and be as much forceful as needed. You are expected to make such requests when your application have exceeded the usual timeline. 52wks processing time is ridiculous and while you are living your life, such delay in knowing your next "move" is unfair to say the least. I was once in your shoes (11wks) delay and I had a full funding too. I sent emails, twitter to the high commissioner, and also the MP representing the area I was going to. They all responded at varying times and I dont know if it helped my application to be finalized (I received my passport request a week later). Perhaps you should also send a CSE at https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

I can feel your annoyance. All the best

Thanks Doyenrey.

Documents Submitted:
- Applicants CIC forms (although omission and mistakes in the section: tuition fees, room & board and funds available for my stay)
- Uncle's account statement ($24K) and financial support letter
- Friend's Company account statement (N86m) and financial support letter
- University Admission deposit receipt ($500) and online application payment receipts ($145 this year & $130 few years back)
- Retirement Savings Account statement (N2.3m)
- My Registered Company CAC Document

Supporting Documents:
- LOE
- Educational Certificates (Nigeria & UK)
- Marriage Certificate
- CV
- Employment Letters
- Just 2 Payslips (last year Nov & Dec from foreign country...couldn't get others)
- Resignation Letter
- Current & Old passports with travel history (Good travel history to about 12 countries several times without issues - passport filled up before expiry)

Observation: Does the CIC come for physical background checks? The house I reside now is my personal building and I forgot to include the document in the application but It was used in the registered company as office address. About 2 people came to the house shortly when my status changed to "Background checks is in progress" to ask my wife questions.

It shall ALL end in praise for those waiting IJN. Amen.
Note that "Waiting time is not a wasting time" Pray and seek for God's favour in your waiting time!!!

Hi shegxyt,

Please which university and course did you get admission into that accepted $500 admission deposit. Please I like to know for a friend.

Kindly assist.
Thanks.

Hi frds,

I just resumed this Fall at MUN (PhD) and my daughter is American (US passport); does she need any form of doc to enter Canada? Considering that I will be here for 4yrs? Anyone with similar experience or info? Appreciate your update as my family will be joining me soon.

Good day. I intend applying for PhD at MUN. How's the school and what's the weather like? Also are there much opportunities for work in Newfoundland?

Hello everyone, a friend of mine studied international relations at masters level in germany, now she wants to cross over to Canada as a student to study either public health or global health but she can't afford the school fees for a masters there, she is thinking of going for a graduate diploma which is cheaper and for one year. She has been denied USA visiting visa twice from germany and she has been denied Canada study visa in 2015 before coming to Germany, what can her chances be? Is it advisable for her to apply for the graduate diploma or just apply for another masters? She is a bit worried about the study visa because she used a graduate diploma course to apply for the study visa the first time and she was refused.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by makano: 11:44pm On Oct 03, 2018
Age isnt a barrier, as long as you convince the VO that you are a genuine student that will come back to Nigeria after your studies. We have seen a 31yrs old Man getting his TRV on this forum. And for travel history, that wont be a problem too, so far you meet up other requirements for a study permit. We have also seen peeps on this thread with Virgin passports getting their Study visa. Good luck. Peace

Please if you are a May/June/July/August applicant and even before those months, share your profile if you haven't so we can finalize timeline of CIC event. It is holding true so far that within 1-2 days is biometrics call, after 8-9 weeks, review of eligibility started, 10-12 weeks medical call, 12-14 weeks decisions are handed out. Granted there is a few outliers outside of these schedules. Please today is last day of sharing to enable others establish timeframe to their applications and we shall have @goingforward at the end of the day, come and pray for all pending applications.

Is it advisable for her to apply for the graduate diploma or just apply for another masters? She is a bit worried about the study visa because she used a graduate diploma course to apply for the study visa the first time and she was refused.

Why would she want to leave Germany for Canada at this point in time for a downgrade, CIC unlikely to give her a visa for a graduate diploma. Another masters is her only feasible option or she might be considered desperate to enter Canada at all cost. Also if she doesn't declare her current masters program status in Germany they will still find out cus of the IMM forms where you list the countries you have been residing for last 6months., remb these top nations share information. Furthermore her recent US visa denials would further complicate things for her. My advice let her finish her program, or get a job over there, save money for further studies and go from there. Germany is not bad atall, a bird in hand is worth two or a million in the bush. Simply put, while in Germany she should find means to travel to other countries in Europe esp the Scandinavians, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Japan, even Australia. Or learn a language, find foreign jobs in her field of study she is got the opportunity since she is outside Nigeria already, a lot of Nigerians are also getting foreign jobs from here so why won't she without much ado, let her volunteer with multinationals, or organizations like Red Cross, WHO part time to boost her CV "IF based on her projections public health is her calling". Even if she returns to Nigeria her profile would be BAAM & LOADED she shouldn't be scared at all but only take on opportunities at her disposal wisely. Trust me she can go to anywhere she wants my dear, even get a US visa with ease, seek employment there, or process Express Entry to Canada which is her best bet from my own point of view. I know someone who was denied a US visa, he left for school in Germany free education after graduation worked for another two years, got married btw and now he is got PR to Canada with spouse and he recently moved from Germany.

Lastly the German passport is ranked no 1, it's stronger than any other passport in the world in admissibility. She might be looking too far. It would take you to over 76 countries of the world visa free.

*Look at Kemi Adeosuns' case she left her ministerial position for another excellent job* it's her profile at work biko so ASK HER TO CARVE A NICHE FOR HERSELF WITH WHATS ON GROUND.

Hello fams, good morning.
Does any one happens to have aviation experience in one way or the other in canada.
I am an aspiring pilot. I initially wanted to go for flight training in either South Africa or the US, but i was told leverage is given to one with canadian experience. I will like to obtain my PPL, CPL and ATPL in canada nw. So, what's the procedures like? which is the best aviation school to enroll in, what should i watch out for as an international student? Is it worth it?
Your inputs is highly appreciated, Thanks

Thanks and God bless you all my fellow nairalanders that contributed one way or the other to my application questions back then. I am really grateful but I will like to inform the house that my visa was refused again, though I already requested for GCMS note and I can know what next. Weighing out other options though. God will crown our effort all.
