Thank God for your life Sir and for the blessings in your family. But are you saying those who didn't undergo pastor counseling at their places of worship don't have a happy home and don't make their parents grand-parents?

I always said this, We Christians most especially in this part of the world have to stop this mentality believing that God belong to Christians alone. God is God of all. He bless other people regardless of their religion, he choose who ever he feel like blessing. Muslims and others who practice other religion have a happy home too without coming for counsellings at one DADDY(pastor). So there is no point making one mortal man demigod all because of religion, I refuse to be a zombie.

Hmmmm, are you sure you know what you're saying? I don't believe you one bit. You're totally wrong!
There are so many gods in this planet earth that deserve people's worship. Christianity is different and the God of the Christians can never be the same as others. Look well, you'll see the differences!
I know you're not a Christian that's why you are saying all that. You need a very good understanding on this.

Babby Freeze the reactant. I heard you crying the other time that you are broke as no one invites you anymore to anchor their event. Yet up until now you are yet to learn your lesson

I certainly know the easiest way to defeat christianity is the divide and rule approach. Some people can even support the devil provided it makes them feel good that their own faction of christian belief is superior. Little wonder Jesus said that a house divided against itself will never stand. I have checked the facts Freeze presented like you said and found none. The matter on ground has no connection with money, so the scripture he quoted has nothing to do with the matter on ground. It only shows how obsessed he is with not having.

My brother he that comes to equity must come with clean hands. Dady freeze who divorced his wife and is sleeping with another mans wife has no moral standing to be Christ advocate. But unfortunately some christians who never read the Bible will be comfortable with every wind of doctrine provided it earns them denominational accolades. Dont be decieved with the likes you will get. There are many of your kind on Nairaland who dont read their bibles

What is this one saying? Christianity have become a laughable religion most especially in Nigeria because of the nonsense, confused and selfish doctrines of these money focused pentecostal pastors. Pastor A will say in my church you can't do these, Pastor B will say it is allowed in my church. They twist every scriptures to back their selfish doctrines, maybe you don't know that it is some of these Christians who have refuse to be a zombie stopped taking most of these pentecostal pastor serious.

I'm sorry for you because you're deluded. You only see people making money each time they make a statement. Well, you're the only one that has seen Christianity in that light, but I assure you, you'll not last long with that.
Because you're not a Christian, you chose to denigrate its name. Well, no one succeeds in life by trying to pull others down. With all the good deeds of Christianity all over the world you still look sideways because of bad belle. Is there any religious body anywhere in the world that is 100% above the fray?
You castigate because your father the devil has just a little time, so you think you can help him by trying to destroy Christianity, abi?
You will never succeed! Christianity is greater than you and the social media. The more you tend to destroy it, the more witnesses spring up even from among your own group.
Why fight a lost battle? It's time you REPENT because HELL is REAL!

Ignorance is a dangerous disease. For a Believer in Christ Jesus, marriage is first a spiritual affair as God is evolved. Prayers are needed with Biblical counselling. Parents' roles are obviously weighty but that's after "matters" have been dealt with. Christless minds won't see through the prisms of Biblical injunctions plus some socio-cultural issues that may hinder relationships later in life. Nevertheless, if one's parents are believing parents with strong spiritual foundation, it is okay to relate to them as well but they will most likely see things from the parental bias!

Bro, what you said all there doesn't hold water at all...
If truly you're a Christian, and truly believe the same God your pastor serves, you should have the mind of Christ I'd expect... seeking your pastor's foremost validation of your choice in marriage before your parents is wrong.... In the first place, your pastor doesn't stay with you in the marriage. Your parent would also mostly know a thing or 2 that'll help you in your choice.

Honestly, I feel it is necessary to understand the wealth of experience of your parents matters in your choice.... I mean, why would your pastor get to meet your very own wife/husband to be before your parents Like for real? Even the whites who brought Christianity to us will never do that...! Where in the Bible was this seen Name one place.

Seeking God should be the first thing to do before the counsel of men. The guideline of parents and marriage counsellors should not be neglected for intending couples.

Notwithstanding, I've seen cases where people marry without seeking pastors' guidance yet their marriage works fine and vice versa.

In the western world, they hardly meet pastors for marital counsel yet the success of marriage recorded is more to Africans.

Left to me, I've an indifferent view about this particular delicate issue but one thing I know is our destiny lies in our hands. If God approves a union but the involved couple fails to play their part, is God to be blamed?

Thanks for this ! Absolutely valid points raised.

No comments shocked

But on a serious note, I don't think a pastor should take the place of the parents.

There's no bible verse backing for that claim.

IMO.
That's very true... When it comes to marriage, your parents comes first

LOL I said again God is God of all. The bible made it clear that God said "I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy"Romans 9:18 Election refers to the choice God makes of whom he will save and have mercy upon, and it's unconditional because God's choice is not based on any condition or qualification that individuals have, It comes from the mystery of God’s sovereign will (God sees the heart men look at appearance) . Don't forget sir, you are not God. You don't make the rules, God does. Just be glad you're included in God's mercy and forgiveness!

He let the same Sun to Shine upon both Christians and others. Those who know how to connect with him spiritually with truth connect with him and he answer them.

Religion (almost universally) is enforced by those in power in an attempt to maintain, increase, or abuse their power over others. If God is a loving God as well as a just God, then how can He send people to hell just because they were born into one religious system instead of another?

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar etc are mostly Islamic nation yet they are so blessed, people from other religion make the list of richest person in the world. They do greater things and help humanity. Don't tell me their wealth comes from the DEVIL just because they are not Christians lol

When you see your pastor as just any person, then you may choose to ignore his/her advice. The woman made an honest statement to her Bible students which none of you ranting here is part of, why disparage her?
You people should wait till when she advises you, then you can rejected it. But for now, this issue is beyond all of you!

Daddy Frz is not a Redeemed member so the message is NOT addressed to him.

Mummy G.O. is talking to her spiritual children.

I see no moral justification in an outsider condemning my mother for giving me clear instructions.

Many people don't know that his first marriage failed and he blamed the church he was attending then for his failed marriage and that is why he s now attacking the church.

Everyone on Nairaland has turned into a Bible interpreter, even when a lot of them have not touched or read a Bible before. They based their interpretations on their atheist mentor - Daddy Freeze or whatever he calls himself.
Come to think of it, who is Daddy Freeze? Where and how did he study the Bible? Is he a pastor or a church leader to have the audacity to challenge Church leaders on how the Bible should be interpreted?
Christianity is the best thing that has ever happened to this planet earth. Christians bear all insults and remain calm even when provoked. Can you come to the social media and be talking and cajoling Islam and its leaders and remain as you came?
Thank God for Jesus, who gave you the grace to be free!
With all the nonsense being discussed here, the GO's wife never committed any evil by what she said. Only those that know, know. It's not for wayfarers!
Only the cheats and evil men who make fake promises to ladies will not let them be counselled by their pastors, lest their evil intentions be bursted. Counsel is good and real men need ladies that have wisdom for marriage. God bless Pst. Mrs. Adeboye!

NB: Daddy Freeze should take note that there is a law against hate speech. It's not only the government that can be cajoled. Christians and Christianity face hate speech every day. If I hear pim again, you'll regret opening account on Nairaland!,

Excuse me, but what are you saying?

Stop defending wrong practices. Parents come before pastors when it comes to family issues like marriage. I know two redeemed members whose marriage failed upon all the blessings from the pastors.

Yes, their marriage failed because they had inlaw issues. The church contributed to the failure of the marriage with the prayers and fake advise. Had the couple settled issues with the parents and elders, they would have been better off. In this case, the redeemed church messed up.

Whether marriages will fail or not, parents must come before pastors.
