Why will any sane person overtake a military vehicle?

It's an unwritten traffic rule that the right of way always belongs to the military.

It's bad enough not to even pull over when they drive past you, but overtaking any car with a military personnel is disrespectful, rebellious and tantamount to mutiny.

I drive past USA military formation convoys on the road everytime. Sometimes they even wave as you overtake. They never harass anyone. And people love them. You give preference, discounts, freebies, good seats and respect to veterans.

The only time you don't overtake here is a hearse convoy out of your respect for the dead.

Now the Nigerian soldier loves to break the law, beat up police men, burn police stations, harass civilians, enforce civil disputes between neighbours, extra-judicial killings and wonder why no one feels too much pity when their officers f*uck each other's wives when they go to war, not taken as a priority when their pension is delayed, say nothing about internal corruption and don't mourn for long when they get killed by boko haram.

For the general to overtake those guys, the general must have communicated internally bro. He can't just overtake o. They will shoot and maybe both will get serious casualties before realising they are on the same assignment. Those guys shot ay a sitting governor convoy the other time due to lack of communication.
