Good day and welcome here.

From the choice of schools I see a mix of American and UK schools.

Why? Cause for me American schools are more openhanded than UK schools except if you are wealthy then no problem.

Actually be sure if your schools requires external transcripts evaluation before committing your resources to a fruitless exercise. If they require WES evaluation now is a good time to do it.

For the last question, I have no idea about anyone that has attended those schools. Hopefully someone who does drops by soon. Alternatively, you can eliminate your forlornly by using the Nairaland Search Button and see what comes up.
I'm looking towards the UK schools with the possibility of obtaining the 2020 Commonwealth Scholarship by the British Council through the nigerian education board. True, not all schools require the WES.
Thanks for the prep info n your time.

Thanks for the prep info n your time.

Your CGPA is impressive.
You should strongly qualify for a fully funded PhD... most especially in US schools.
Browse those school websites for transcripts requirement as the brother has rightly suggested earlier. If not required, then discard the idea. However, if required, certain reasons would suggest you do it in time.
1. Future cost might increase.
2. You do it now, you wont be pressured when the actual need arises.
3. you'll be sure to beat application deadlines easily.
4. should there be any issue, which is often the case with WES sometimes, you'll avail yourself enough time to make necessary corrections and adjustments...
Cheers

Thanks. I have no interest in a doctorate.
I intend using my MSc experience for a transfer to healthcare consulting n management consulting generally as a career. Lesser time on a single research n more time for others with implementations.

Thanks for the response.

If you will be studying in the UK, you wouldn't need GRE.

This is not entirely true.
It ultimately depends on the school you're applying to; check your program requirement.

Please house I need info on timing and deadlines. I hope to apply for fall 2019. I have not taken GRE and TOELF yet. Initially planned taking dem dis month but I have not prepared at all, Can I take the text early next year and still meet up with fall 2019? What are my chances of funding if I apply for spring 2020 instead? Please I need answers.

Thanks and wish everyone here the very best in their pursuit.

The simple answer would be Yes to the first question and some weird percentage I can't enumerate to the other.

I would use this answer to make a salient point, new members aren't trying enough take spotlighte for example when she read through the thread, she claimed all her questions were answered, because the answers are scattered all over the thread. If it seems like a daunting task search Scholastica16 on the search bar and read all his post related to this thread. Please and please read the thread or skim the thread or just read the thread I would say it again read the thread.

To your question, if you take the GRE by say January and perform quite well, you would have a coterie of nice programs to apply to. Another strategy is to initiate communication with your intended program and supervisors(how to do that is on the thread) so the GRE would be the last thing in your application profile, moreso you don't need the GRE to start the application (now don't misconstrue this statement if the GRE is required and not submitted before the deadline your application would most likely not be considered) as I was saying you can start everything before the GRE is written(everything being, shortlisting of schools, starting those applications, contacting professors with funded lab positions, graduate coordinator inquiry etc.). However most people like the route of GRE/TOEFL, SOP, LOR and then applications in that order. You could/should be able to make the best of your situation. Caveat: The GRE kind of determines what schools you can apply to, not always but it does.

The fall admit semester is the actual semester for start of sessional academic activities so it has more funding , this is not to say you can't be funded for a Spring 2020 admit, just put in your best. Do not rush to take the GRE prepare well ace the exams and apply to schools. Gracias.

Despite the fact that my quant skills are subpar or poor sef, I still believe that with consistent practice and reading I should be able to improve. You too should do the same too.

I know. Just keep practicing. From what I have heard, the funny thing about GRE is that no matter how hard you prepare you will always feel it is not enough.

From brief research, for guys like us that are very poor at Maths, we need to go back to the basics and work our way up. The following books might help to this end.

Manhattan 6 sets Manhattan 5lb Manhattan Essential 8(Basically all Manhattan you can set your hands on)

1014 Princeton, Princeton Review

Conquering the GRE(Mc Graw, Third Edition)

Magoosh Videos,
RS Aggarwal and youtube videos.

Hopefully, the oldies on this thread will corroborate this post. Also, go through the username "Quoran's" previous posts; he shared some quant tips some weeks back.

I hope we conquer.

It depends bro on the traffic as well as your means of transport. If you take BRT, it wouldn't take you long at all. Going with public transport might take time depending on the traffic buildup on Ikorodu road but you should still get there long before 10am.

Edit: I thought I saw Ikorodu and not Ibadan

Biko leave on Wednesday. That's what would pay you.

I would advice if you can be in Lagos on Wednesday, please be there. It would be better. I don't reside in Lagos, but from my personal experience it would best if you arrive the test venue long before 10am. At least you will have time to get settled with the test environment.
My GRE was in Abuja and I wasn't familiar with the route. I got there just in time, and was a little exhausted from trying to locate my test venue. It wasn't a nice experience.

Your odd of securing funding when you apply for Spring is not as bright as applying for fall. Besides, you need to prepare well for both GRE and TOEFL, and I think you should start preparing now even if you choose to apply for Fall.

On funding, it all depends on such variables as CGPA, personal statement, letter of recommendation and of course your test scores. However, many applicants pay less attention to getting a loan to fund your study abroad, an option that is very fast and worthy of consideration. Bear in mind though, not all schools can funded via loan. Need more information, please visit www.mcfedututors.com/contact-us-3/ or Whatsapp 08056516226
