2019: 25 govs, ex-govs pick APC, PDP senatorial tickets

Wale Elegbede

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have picked 25 current and former state governors as their senatorial candidates for the February 14, 2019 election.

Kano and Kwara states lead the pack with five serving and former governors jostling for the senatorial seats.

The APC, which is the ruling party, has 17 serving and ex-governors as senatorial candidates for the 2019 poll.

On the other hand, the leading opposition party, PDP, has eight serving and former governors that are contesting to win a seat in the Red Chamber.

Also, six serving and former deputy governors are also in the race for senatorial seats at the 2019 general elections. While PDP has two former deputy governors vying for senatorial seats, the APC has two serving deputy governors and one ex-deputy governor, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has one former deputy governor.

Nigeria politics is just a cycle process. The leaders from the onset are still the ones ruling till date cuz no external body is allowed in. Imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger going for US Senate after serving as a governor.

One-day we shall be free!

This country, eh. Until unfortunate thing happen among these elites, nothing will ever work in this country.
Military regime equals nonsense.
Democracy too has been highjacked by these occultic jackals and wolves.
What is the hope of a common man on the street.
While their children are doing nysc in blue chip companies , including aso rocks, getting fixed easily, their papa are taking federal house and senate as a retirement home. And idiots will be supporting them here and there.
APC, failure, PDP useless.
The day I fear for the future of this country is the day one of my former assistant pastors, who worked in Mobil producing, and one of the company secretaries, resigned and relocated to Canada with his 3 children and wife, I said it is finished. I mean somone earning over 30,000$ per month. This country is totally under siege. The earlier you realise this. And stop shouting buhari / atiku on empty stomachs. Bird of a feather, all of them.

Wish we could just come together and ensure not a single one of them makes it to the senate.

I don't understand what these fools take Nigerians for. Weren't they employed somewhere before venturing into politics? Why cant they just go back to where they're coming from? angry

This is why Nigeria will continue to be backward. Imagine 25 failures wanting to retire at the hallowed Chambers of the Senate

The youth need to rescue this country from these old and evil men.
