Where is this silly talk of "if Ighalo and Nacho fails to score in the Libya games, they should both be discarded" coming from again?

I thought it is only Ighalo that plays up top as the Number 9 naa? In the last game he played as the no 9 with Nacho playing behind him as makeshift AM. Is it not the duty of the no.9 to get the goals? Nacho behind Ighalo produced an assist off a brilliantly taken freekick and folks here are feeding us lies that he got involved in goals or assists for us since November last year and worse, they are roping him in with Ighalo for goals responsibility. When did we start playing 4-4-2?? Lol... It is 4-2-3-1 and Nacho played behind Ighalo and got an assist for his troubles. The onus is on Ighalo getting the goals not Nacho... Why? because Ighalo is the team's number 9 not Nacho in the 4-2-3-1 set-up.

Let us be fair in analysis abeg. When Nacho failed to deliver as a no 9 against South Africa no one roped in someone else. No one called Ighalo. But now that Ighalo has been so poor in the GWG in terms of goals return, they wanna rope Nacho into the equation too. Is this not another form of attack on the young man? What is his business with Ighalo failing to find the back of the net?

Nacho has not scored a goal and have shown poor form in terms of goals return this year... that is true.. but he has been involved directly in two goals via two assists with the last coming against Seychelles.

Nacho offers a genuine goal threat for the team and this is obvious most of the times the lad dorns the GWG. This is not about Nacho but about the Health of the team. ARE WE GOING TO IGNORE OUR HIGHEST GOALS PRODUCER UNDER GERNOT ROHR (6 goals and four assists) because OF A FEW PAST BAD GAMES? IN OTHER WORDS, ARE WE GOING TO CAST AWAY A YOUNG STAR WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED DIRECTLY IN MORE GOALS THAN ANY OTHER SUPER EAGLE UNDER THE GAFFER SINCE 2016?

Be team conscious and not player-conscious. A player that is vital to the team is a key part of the team. In fact, he among other vital players are THE TEAM and it will be foolish to destroy that.


Now quit the Nacho witch hunting (either in subtle or apparent form) and focus on the best of the team even if it means admitting that Nacho is still very much important to the team. The truth won't hurt if you just let it flow "gently".

i have been hitting on the issue of billing anyanwu here for sometime and it still baffles me that a player of nigerian origin who is one of the emerging midfielders in the epl is yet to be approached till date about the possibility of changing allegiance to play for us.

this kid is playing week in week out, shunning out good performances in the toughest league in europe and is the shinning light of relegation threatened huddlesfield this season but rohr is is yet to atleast make a move on the lad. we will only get serious to lure him when he eventually signs for one of epl's finest and gets a call up from the danish national team selectors. he plays in a position where we lack quality personnel whereas someone like aging john ogu is still getting called up while half baked nwakali jnr have already had a sniff of the team.

we need to swallow our pride and reach out to this kids who i believe will make the team stronger and more competitive. i know we can't get them all but we should grab as much as we can in order to widen our pool. the french world cup winning team was made up of 95% players of african ancestry so i see no shame in our pursuit of our sons who are born and breed out of the shores of nigeria and africa.

Prior to 2014 worldcup and post 2013 AFCON our strikers then(Emenike and Ideye) were experiencing goal drought we kept faith with them and were expecting a miracle from them at the Mundial. Late Keshi then dropped Ideye for a certain Shola Ameobi(a player who had 1 professional goal in 2years). These two players were preferred ahead of a red hot Obagoal who was turning heads in the MLS for Seattle Sounders. We all knew how the whole thing panned out. We qualified cos of luck and nothing more(to those who will like to dispute that should remember that, had Dzeko's goal had not been ruled for offside, your guess is as good as mine)

Fast forward to 2018 same scenerio played out both Ighalo and Kelechi were poor for the national team and we were all hoping they will hit form at the World Cup. You and I know how that too ended.

My major concern now is us sticking to these guys despite them not delivering post Russia the way we did with Emenike. Someone needs to sound some notes of warning to Rohr. We seem to be towing the same part again.

The federation too are not exempted from this attitude. They toyed with Alaba in 2007 today it is Eze I just hope we won't look back and regret it.

The Billing and Ejaria u are mentioning do not have Nigerian passports yet.

We cannot plan based on assets we do not own yet.

Ejaria has played for England U21 and administratively cumbersome.

Billing I really don't know.

However Ebere and Maja should be much much easier if the NFF actually wake up from thier slumber.

It wasn't Brendan Rodgers that fell out with Sakho.. it was Klopp.. Sakho broke the rules and was punished.

I use to see Sakho in training then, he still had French plates on his Range, still very humble and down to earth.

He is already doing something extraordinary at league one level. The problem now is about space in attack. The competition is hot. Even Onyekuru never smell enough game time. Who should Rohr drop to accommodate an invite for Maja so as to captie him between now and November?

There's still at least two years time available. England will not invite a player not in World's top league. Bobby Reid, last season and Tammy Abraham are examples.

This idea of throwing people out anyhow is the reason we cannot have a decent national team. This Ahmed Musa everyone is praising was once the butt of jokes, he was once running around like a headless chicken with no end game. There was a time once Ahmed Miss holds ball, everybody go siddon because e no dey enter net.

Today, he is the one you people are using as example for Kelechi and Ighalo. Forgetting that he was once Kelechi and Ighalo, imagine if we had sent him out that time? Not too long ago KC was worth near £30 million with a multitude of suitors. Within a season that view has changed dramatically. That's football.

When the NFF had Iorfa on thier Radar he was the considered one of the best young CB's in English football invited to train with the first team, winning MOTM awards as a teenager in the Championship.

At the time he committed to the SE he had just finished with England U21 two summers ago and still a regular for Wolves.

The Wolves situation has resulted in a FA investigation and claims of conflict of interest with the way Super agent Mendes has run Wolves. A club that has more Portuguese players than Benfica and Porto.

Currently l would be hard pressed under current circumstances to invite him. However, he is in a very unique situation of which his football is not the main issue.

Aneke was the stand out player in league and is now the stand out player in league two for MK Dons.

Iorfa is simply a player denied opportunity stuck in the politics of big money football.

It reminds me of when Brendan Rogers fell out with Sakho at Liverpool. Nothing to do with football he then went to Crystal Palace and the rest is history. I watched him training with the U23's for ages he did not loose quality just denied opportunity.

You didn't dismiss KC when for almost half the season he was relegated to playing with U23's you still reference to his exploits in Manchester city. Anyone calling for dropping both players, should be able to suggest replacements from the top of their heads.

My take, Ighalo and KC are the most consistent goal scorers in the higher leagues. We have no option but to be patient with them until Kayode and co start to score consistently.
