And hey, if you you have practised or are practising outside Nigeria you would understand that all that talk of common things occurring commonly doesn't hold true all the time. You could get sued for failing to pick a leukemia or lymphoma in the early stage while you thought you were treating recalcitrant malaria and typhoid.

It's also ethically unhealthy for me to continue this discussion / argument with a colleague (medical or not) on social media. So, I'd hold my peace. ......i'd be good to my patients. Better to look for a cancer and not find it than not look for it and lose my patient to cancer.

i met an eye doctor who told its corneal ulcer.. he gave me two eye drops namely "zeenat" and "dicloeye* i dont know if its steroid or not.. but will that white spot on my eyes ever heal? now my vision has increased alil bit but I'm always having that feeling of smokes around me.

Zeenat is the company name... The name of the drug should be under zeenat ... Check and gimme feedback. Your vision could improve but it depends on the management instituted and the timeliness

I do not think it's right to change his docs RX here . after all they are same class of antibiotics fluoroquinolone. it would be better you guide than recommend tx here. he should go bk to his doc if there re no improvements fr a reevaluation and if not satisfied, seek treatment somewhere else

I weighed the risks vs benefits.
Moxifloxacin is a 4th generation fluoroquinolone, less bacterial resistance, has better tissue penetration and is the preferred drug for managing corneal ulcers clinically. I don't see why a 'doctor' would give ofloxacin for bacterial corneal ulcer in 2018.
A doctor would have added a cycloplegic and maybe a fungal cover except a fungal infection is highly unlikely. And a good doctor would do an MCS

I admit it is unethical, but with poor care, the patient would definitely lose his vision.

please what can u say on my case ,the doctor called it corneal ulcer as well. he said the scar left can go on its own but since no much improvement, he also said I may need surgery to remove it. am worried .

hbot and corneal ulcer: one of the complicatiins of corneal ulcer is corneal scar. Corneal scar will form when the ulcer takes long to heal. For very quick healing of corneal ulcer (which will eliminate scar formation ) you need to add hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot). When you go for eye surgery to remove corneal scar you are replacing bigger scar with a smaller one. To prevent the smaller scar you need to add hbot.
But for those who have already got a corneal scar you need to try hbot to see if it will clear or reduce. Dis is what oyinbos dey do. "Moni no dey, moni no dey sontin dey spoil. Na how much be one eye? If you have eye problem na opthalmologist first, no be chemist. We (hbot) can support their work to save the eyes". how can i get this hbot ?

I'm having a blurred vision! It all started last week thursday when i started having a feeling of a foreign object like sand on my eyes which i didn't took serious thinking it would get away after some time. On The next day which was friday, the feeling disappeared untill saturday morning when i woked up with the same uncomfortable feelings in my eyes but this time with nonstop tears rushing down from my eyes. I met a doctor the next day, sunday who gave me an eye drop and some drugs which i was taking but i started having blurred vision the next day.. So on Tuesday when I was looking at the eye on my mirror i noticed a grey or let me say a milky colored round dot covering some part of the the round black part of my eye(iris) .. I don't know what exactly is that gray thing on my eyes I'm bleeping afraid of completely losing my vision.. Any help on how to get rid of that?! exactly as of the image below

I'm searching for top rated eye clinics in abuja to have my dad undertake an eye exam. He was diagnosed with glaucoma a few years ago and was placed on some drugs and permanently placed on eye drops to reduce the ocular pressure on his eyes. But as he hasn't gone for a check up for some time he has asked me to search for a good clinic in abuja. I've seen eye foundation hospital group and nizamaye eye clinic. Kindly recommend me good ones or let me say centres with good glaucoma treatment ratings. Thanks...

How old are you? The older you are the longer it will take to clear. it's like if you injured your skin and it leaves a scar, it will take time for the scar to clear. Same with cornea.
