Speaking of being an Uber driver, do you know that as a salary earner you could also be an Uber driver to earn some money on the side? It's so easy, all you would need is to get a clean car. And this is how it would work. When you are going to work in the morning, you get a customer going your way and they pay for it, especially if you work in office dominated areas like Lekki, Ikoyi, VI or Ikeja Axis. People usually go to places like that everyday so getting a customer on time is very easy.

Also, when you are leaving work, from your office you could get someone close by that is also going in your direction and voila, you have made N5,000 to N10,000 in a day.

If you don't have a car yet, don't worry, just visit www.pagefinancials.com to get a quick loan of up to N5,000,000.
And you won't even have to spend up to that to get a car and you can spread your repayment over 12 months.
It's that easy now.

Good Morning my peeps in the E-hailing Biz.

Just want to share a bit of my experience with a fleet Mgt company that advertised on this platform, it was not a good experience.

A close relative intended to place his car, a 2006 Corolla up for e-hailing earlier this year; I linked up the relative with Carshopper but we could not reach an agreement.

So we decided to test this fleet mgt company, the car was assessed, repairs made, after about a week the car started working.

From week 1 its been one complain or the other, ranging from fan repairs, linkages, shocks, the car's security and so on. During that period, prior advice from Gazzuzz, The Car, and other investors on this forum kept ringing in my head grin

At the moment the car's brainbox is said to be damaged, most of the parts earlier changed too are damaged, yet full weekly delivery was only paid for about 4weeks. The rest were spent on repairs.

My observations about the company are:

1)They use an incompetent mechanic, incompetence in terms of the repairs required for E-hailing biz
2)They do not inspect cars given to drivers regularly
3)Their client relationship mgt needs a lot of improvement, I tried contacting them severally to express my dissatisfaction but calls were not responded to, nor returned.

My advice to intending investors, please try to monitor your car/driver directly or alternatively place such car on HP.

Cheers.

Chucsmoore, I am about to take an 07 Camry.

Abeg I need tips on how to maximise profit without hurting myself or the car and places you don't go to.

The car is still in very sound condition.

Thanks!

The first thing is to verify if the Camry is 6 or 4 plugs. If it is 6 plugs don’t go for it, it sucks fuel like vampire.. smiley. Then your weekly rental to d owner should be between 25-30k, anything other than that, don’t go for it. If u can negotiate 25k is a very good deal. Inorder to meet 30k or 25k weekly rental target and keep money to yourself, working hours should 6am - 9pm or 10pm. but there should be resting time of 2hours or 3hours
Your target everyday should be at least 8k everyday after expenses like fueling, data, feeding, washing of car, call cards, pumping of tyre etc. 8k X 7days = 56k. You pay owner 25k or 30k, u keep d remaining to yourself. In a month u make close to 100k. On a good day u can even make 25k or 30k in a day, like last week sunday I made 26k in a day. Weekends are d most profitable days Friday, Saturday and sundays. I have seen guys who are doing well with Camry. It’s about ability work smart and harder. As for maintenance, the owner of d car should be responsible for maintenance and servicing. Places like Lagos - Abeokuta express way that connects Dopemu, Cement, mangoro, iyana iPaja, Abule Egba, Alagbado. U shouldn’t go there always because there are a lot potholes and bumps it will depreciate d car faster. May be one or two times in a week u ply that route. Also Egbeda, Akowonjo, idimu, Ikotun egbe, the streets there should be avoided also. Ijesha and Ago palace some streets there too are terrible.

Advice noted.

And it's a 4 plug. I wouldn't dare using a v6 for e-hailing.

Oluwabengz:
I met a Taxify driver in Cardogan Estate, Lekki on Saturday and he told me how he almost got robbed off his car by a rider he picked up around 8pm on the Island.

He said he guy keeps taking him from one location to another, just to while away. At about 12am, he told the rider to let him go that he has to go home to his family but the rider insisted that he take him to some other few places and wants to buy some bottle of beer for the driver but the driver said he's not interested in drinking but going home to his family. At this time, the trip fare calculation was 9k plus according to the driver.

The driver said he politely told the rider that he's not interested in the 9k plus that he will end the trip so the rider can order another, the rider insisted he takes him to few places and he will be on his way home. Fast forward to few mins to 4am, the driver insisted he's not going any where, asked the rider to get down so he could go home that he has not been out this late before and then, the rider got furious and start threatening to deal with him. The driver said he sensed some fowl play and decided to drive towards the nearest police station around Sangotedo (I can't really remember the name of the place the driver told me) then the pounce on the driver, gave him a punch on his face, before he could say Jack, the rider gave him another, removed a dagger from the bag he was carrying. The driver said he usually uses his seat belt like that of Danfo drivers, so he was able to remove the belt over his head and jumped out of the slowly moving car and ran towards the police station.

When he got to the police station, he reported the case and some police men followed him to where the left he left the car and the car was still there(luck on his side) but the rider made away with the Car key and his phone. The rider said he suspected the rider ran into a near by bush and waited around with the police men to see if the rider turned armed robber is gonna come out of the bush. Lo and behold, here comes a man in a Navy kaki coming out of the bush carrying the same bag the rider was carrying and he managed to recognize that it was the rider that tried to rob him that was in Kaki. He alerted the police men, grabbed the guy, gave him some beating and the police took him to the station.

The driver said, after the police profiled the armed robber, he turned out to be a real Naval Officer (i shock!). The driver said he was told those military men are now into stealing/hijacking of cars.

When I asked about the case in the police station, he said the armed robber has been released, he said those police men pleaded with him not press charges cos the Rider/armed rubber/Naval man will be dismissed if the case gets to court and he agreed to let go. The driver told me he took a shot of the robber and showed me.

B.S: please be careful of riders that carry bag at night, if possible, don't pick up any rider that has a bag at night .
If you have more muscle than me I think twice before carrying you, I no sabi fight again sad
