No my account was not hacked! I didn't really grasp the direction that guy was going before I foolishly jumped in his defense. This is the 2nd time that I have done so in defence of Igbophobic elements. The first was with that Urhobo dude and now this guy. So I've promised myself to always allow troublemakers to be dealt with anytime they cross our path.Well, I've apologized and have learnt my lessons.

“Recall that former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Atiku’s former principal, had mooted the idea of Southeast having a shot at the Presidency in 2019.” A source within PDP said. “But somewhere along the line Baba argued for a presidential running mate and even went further to suggest the name of Mazi Osita Chidoka.

“Chidoka’s eventual exit from the United Progressive Party (UPP), on which platform he contested the November 2017 gubernatorial election back to PDP should not be treated lightly. But, other suggestions have been made for a technocrat with international pedigree to pair up with Wazirin Adamawa.”

But no sooner had Chidoka’s name escaped Obasanjo’s lips than many foundation members of PDP, who have eyes on the 2023 presidential election, began clandestine lobbying for a technocrat to be paired with the former vice president.

It was against that notion that names of former Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and Prof. Barth Nnaji surfaced, ostensibly to push back on the considerations being given to the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi.

Those who are pushing for Okonjo-Iweala argue that her Delta/Abia combination origin based on paternity and marriage achieves the Southeast/South-South solidarity in addition to her clout in the international community.

Confidence and sense of self worth is to be encouraged no doubt, but when you go about trumpeting how ur father's bicycle is the best in the entire village? undecided

No matter where you live, ALWAYS VOTE!

I think Igbos are finally realizing the huge disservice they do to themselves by the attitude of not voting - and allowing other people to decide their fate through those they elect into power.

I begged my bosom friend in 2015 to vote and he vehemently refused and laughed at my stupidity and silliness to vote. His reasons were that it didn't concern him who ruled Nigeria nor Lagos and his vote would be rigged anyway. He would only vote if his brother was contesting, he said. So why stand under the sun for another man's ambition he said laughing hysterically at me? All pleas to make him see reasons were futile. He mocked at me and his gate-men and household staff from the north as senseless people because we wasted our time to vote. He kept mocking me to explain how not voting (for politicians enjoying billions of naira) will affect his enjoyment of life. Any explanation about the risk of the worst set of people getting power and even abusing us more than the current politicians made him laugh even more.

Well, as soon as Buhari took over, the first took over, he descended on foreign exchange people. He nearly begged for food in 2015-2016. Then the worst happened, Ambode demolished his bureau de change house. Now he hides from all of us because he thinks anyone would mock him. I heard he had since got a PVC for Ambode. Unfortunately for him, Ambode won't be contesting again. Some of our boys dead from Python Dance abuse of power are some of those that also wondered what they would gain voting anyone. Well, if they had voted, perhaps somebody else would be Commander-in-Chief and would not use our troops to kill civilians in the name of Python Dance 1 and 2. Thus, they would still be alive today.

I always tell people that as long as you live inside Nigeria, whatever the politicians do affect you. It's either your children are jobless because they have killed the economy or they create so much corruption and insecurity that armed robbers will feel free to come and kill you in your house. I just returned from a trip to Botswana. Do you know these people have constant electricity even in the remote villages? Yet, you can't be sure of 8 hours of electricity in Lagos?

I am glad that a lot more people are realizing that the ONLY way to have a Nigeria of our dreams begins first with VOTING. Nothing more, nothing less.

A bit of ancient history already nearly lost.. The Igbo: Did the King of Spain send a delegation to Eze Nri Namoke?
.
Before Salvestro could say he did not know, a third voice broke the chamber's hush.
"King of Nri! I bring greetings from Fernando the Catholic, King of all Spain. I am Don Diego of Tortosa. the servant of my King .... "
The two men stared up in amazement at Diego, who stood poised on the edge of the pit, one arm folded across his chest, the other extended co lend emphasis to this peroration.
"Sire, my King bids me salute you in his place. I have traveled here to beg of you a Beast, called Ezodu in these parts, for it is the wish of my King to have him and so it is my wish too that this be done. Thus and therefore I come before you, King of Nri .
“These"- he pointed at the two men staring up at him but did not look at them - "are my companions, called Salvestro and Bernardo. They are from ….. I do not know where they are from, but they are my servants. And I am Diego of Tortosa, servant of Fernando the Catholic, King of all Spain ..."
He paused to draw breath, then his voice sounded again.
" King of Nri! I bring greeting, from Fernando the Catholic. I am Don Diego of Tortosa, the servant of my King, the King of all Spain . . . ,"
.
.
" ... and so, sire, it is this manner and for these reasons that I bring greetings from Fernando the Catholic, King of all Spain. I am Don Diego of Tortosa, as I mentioned before, the servant of my King, who bids me salute you in his place. So greetings, King of Nri, from the King of all Spain, whose wish it is to give a beast to Pope Leo the Holy Father, our Pope ... "
REFERENCE:
The Pope’s Rhinoceros by By Lawrence Norfolk (Fiction) Published 1996. This book was inspired by what the Ambassador of the Oba of Benin told the King of Portugal.
.
The Story Goes:
.
The negro ambassador of the king of Benin informed the king of Portugal that about GOO or 700 miles east of Benin, there was a mighty king, called Ogane, who was held, by the pagan chiefs of that country, in the same veneration that the Pope was held in by the sovereigns of Europe. They further stated that, at the death of the king of Benin, his successor had to send ambassadors to Ogane, with presents, desiring to be confirmed in his kingdom, as the lawful heir. The pontiff Ogane sent him, in return, a staff and a brazen helmet, for a sceptre and crown; and also a brass cross for the neck. If the king did not receive these ensigns of his dignity, he would not be regarded as king by the people. This Ogane was never seen; a silk curtain being always suspended before him; and, when the ambassador was about to retire, a foot was protruded from the curtain, to which foot they would do homage, as to a holy thing.
Saturday Magazine, No. 417 Supplement, December 1838.

So the King of Spain on hearing about Ogane, sent his own men to get a beast from Eze Nri.

I sincerely believe if we can solve electricity problem the way use of submersible pumps and boreholes solved issue of acute water scarcity in Igboland, then we are on our way to a middle income country.

Like everything the FG touches, there is no way there will be electricity in Nigeria unless they concession the entire thing out to credible companies the way they did with NITEL.

Meanwhile, it is unlikely that they will go beyond these DISCOS, therefore we must evolve ways to supply our homes with electricity using renewable power.

I wonder if there are experts here that can give us a proper cost analysis of rooftop solar panels and wind-turbine systems for powering homes both during the day and at night. We have got to find a way of building homes with renewable electricity facilities on the roof.

Story, story, people will keep trying to derive glory for themselves by claiming to be superior to Benin. Benin doesn't need to claim anything because Benin is authentic. Waiting for the next story. The best doesn't need to derive recognition from claiming to be better than the second best, the second best needs to claim to be better than the best in order to gain fake glory.

I couldn't even get a quarter of the palace as the place was so so big. There are still many houses at the back and a green area by the right, all fenced and secured. This is a massive complex.

Well,if you have a problem with Maduewesi, kindly send go and sort it out. He didn't write that info. That piece of history were declassified Intel from the Spanish Royal Courts depicting a glorious history of years gone by. They are more than 600 years old and are verifiable. Besides, there are plenty available documented records of Nri prominence and network beyond the shores of Africa. The endorsement of Ogene(Nri Priest) in coronation of Kings in around the forest belt of Nigeria and beyond are well known facts. I shared the info for the benefit of the new generation like myself who are left completely without history and knowledge of the past. Ndewo!
