Removal of headphone jack does not create any space for more tech, Apple removed it so they can sell their over expensive earpods. iPhones, Google Pixel, Sony Xperia xz3, don't have more tech than galaxy note 9 yet the note 9 comes with headphone jack.

Maybe headphone jack will eventually be phased out but I don't see that happening with SD cards. Samsung already tried it with the galaxy s6 but returned it with the s7. The competition with Android phones is very tense and companies from China are releasing cheaper phones with great specs, they will keep supporting use of SD cards as an added bonus to try and break the market. Xiaomi is already finding it's way to the top, Huawei already no 3, I don't see these companies yanking the SD card yet.

And I have a phone with 64gb inbuilt storage with 32gb SD card and it's getting filled up, I'm thinking of getting another 128gb SD card or at least 64gb card, and I don't even take much pictures or videos and I don't blog. If u take lots of videos or a blogger then even 128gb internal storage will get filled up pretty quick. A 5 mins 1080p video will take up to 500mb, and if u record in 4k a 5 mins video will take like 1.5gb, so tell me how long before 128gb gets filled up. Moreover apps are getting heavier, about 3-4 yrs ago u can hardly see an app that is up to 1gb, but these days some apps take 2-3gb of ur storage.

They aren't complaining because they can't complain. You are meant to shut up as an iPhone user and use what Apple produces for you. You knew sd cards aren't available before you bought the phone. If you are want higher space then you buy the one with the capacity. Understand the simple things yet, there are many iPhone users who cry silently due to limited space on their phone whereas you can easily swap your sd card for a bigger one on android. All premium laptops are phasing out USB A ports but it doesn't mean they cannot accommodate them even if most modern day paraphernalia still use it. Everything happens with time. If this scenario doesn't help your thinking, then I don't know what else could

I don't understand what is ur point gangan. Don't u know having options is good for the consumers? So having SD card is a win win for the consumers. And last time I checked iPhone Xs has a 64gb version that starts at $1,000. Trust me people using the 64gb version are crying silently especially those that take lots of pictures and videos. Like I said 5 mins 4k video will take nothing less than 1.5gb. There's nothing as convinient as wanting to watch an old movie and just put an SD card containing the movie into ur phone and watch especially when u are going on a long flight without internet to stream. I know about cloud storage but u still need data to access the cloud and downloading it streaming from the cloud could be a challenge. If 64gb is too much for u it shows what kind if user u are, because even some people will tell u 32gb is more than enough for them. For me and many others even 128gb still requires to have an SD card slot, u don't know when that feature might come in handy.

I don't know why u are so convinced that Samsung will take off SD card in the next 1-2 yrs, why not wait and see. But until then enjoy it. And u do realize making 128gb a base version is going to make those phones cost more, before 128gb becomes standard, 64gb needs to be standard, though this year all flagship phones have at least 64gb as standard.

The mistake u are making is there are several OEMs that make Android phones. All of them want to get on top of the food chain so if the ones that are already at the top decide to bail out, there are many others waiting to take over by giving users what they want. That is the beauty of Android. It's not like iOS where apple give u what they think is good enough and users have no options.

I could remember my Sony phones of yesteryear using the Sony memory stick pro duo which was Sony's proprietary expansion card, while other phones used the common SD card.

Whether the headphone jack is 3.5mm, 2.5mm, 1.5mm or 0.5mm, it is still an headphone jack and doesn't fit in your argument.

It's whether there is expansion storage or not, it doesn't matter the type used.

Huawei m ate 20 will debut with SD card albeit not micro SD card but nano SD card which does the same primary job (memory expansion ). It makes your point moot, already. The discourse wasn't a phone having a standard memory expansion or not. It's about having a memory expansion and yes Huawei mate 20 will have one.

Regarding the bolded, it's still headphone jack albeit not standard. If a phone has 2.5mm jack, does that mean it doesn't have a headphone jack?
