If u are Yoruba, u ought to know how Yoruba people vote during national election.

Yorubas and Fulanis are the most tribalistic tribes in Nigeria, followed by Igbo and Hausa then Berom, Ijaw, etc.

Yorubas consider voting for their tribal man or woman first before they consider competence. Same applies to Fulani.

But Igbos vote personality not even party.

Once Igbos perceive u as a man who loves all, respects all, supports business and industrialization and not a religious extremist, then Igbos will vote for u regardless of your party or popularity.

If APC present Osinbajo as Presidential candidate, Igbos will become divided on who to vote between Osinbajo and Atiku.

But with Buhari as APC presidential flag bearer, Igbos will vote even Sowore than vote for Buhari who happens to be a religious extremist and tribalist.

But majority of Yorubas are ready to vote for devil so long as that devil picks a Yoruba as VP and ready to openly marginalize Igboa while favouring Yorubas

That is how Yoruba people vote in national election.

Individually Yorubas are cool but collectively in national politics, they are very horrible to deal with

He has done what is right and i can assure the Easterners that in this battle, You will never walk alone. Atiku/Obi ticket is not to redeem the east alone but Nigeria. In as much as I want to see Buhari voted out for his gross incompetence and cluelessness, some of the comments I read here makes me want to vote Buhari again.... Just a VP slot and some people are already insulting and spreading hate again.
My Dad told me a long time ago how hard it will be for the east to rule Nigeria especially because of their hatred for the West but I never thought much of it until I got to Nl.
While many may think opinions on Nl doesn't necessarily translate to real life interactions, I'm convinced hatred is rooted deeply in the average easterner even if they don't show it in the real world judging from most of the comments I read in the political section.

I'm a liberal and I will support competency any day any time even if it means changing president every 4 years but I'll really urge my brothers from the east to be wary of their ego lest they let this opportunity slip by.

All that you have stated about Yorubas, tribalism and their voting patterns are more reflective of the Igbos since independence and are unfounded with the Yorubas, else Buhari should have recorded a landslide victory in the SW in 2015 because of Osinbajo, and Jonathan should not have gotten the kind of support he got from SW leaders when he was going to be cheated from becoming acting president.

It is on record, and continues to be so that the SW is the region that fights for other regions in the face of tyranny, especially when unaffected regions look on unperturbed. Names such Fela, Gani, Soyinka, Beko, Awolowo, Falana etc to mention a few that readily come to mind.

Can the same be said of the eastern region? The answer is no! Others mainly fight for themselves and that’s it. So how a people who accept and protect the interests of others irrespective of tribe and religion is tantamount to being very tribalistic is mystery that you would have to substantiate...

It is just recently that we are having the Ezekwesili’s stepping up to start fighting for the oppressed when it is no longer as dangerous as the military eras.

I agree that Buhari should step down but the way ibos r going with this esp. against yorubas and the revenge of taking power is scary and ridiculous. I hope the ifeajuna coup will not repeat itself esp. When u have ibo PDP chairman and ibo VP. I would prefer Buhari to step down for Osinbajo and put a fulani/hausa person that is well educated to VP slot and that day will be the end for PDP
