Just like imessage where you can send and receive real-time messages across all apple products, xiaomi also have this nifty feature which is called mi messaging. Eg you want to send SMS to someone using a xiaomi device (provided the other person also have the MI messaging activated on their device), you can do that without incurring any charges from your telco. It is fast and real-time and uses your mobile data/wifi. It can also serve as an alternative to whatsapp(lollll jk)


To activate, go to Settings- System apps- Messaging-Activate mi messaging on both sim slots.

Enjoy.

Please what region did you activate your phone on? Looks like it's region based... Not working on my RN5 and I was charged for the SMS my Messaging app did not display the Mi message in the text field box as yours did

that's how they stole mine.. I kukuma signed into i.mi.com and locked the phone. Sorry for your loss.. you can try tracing it on i.mi.com with the mi account signed in the phone

When the phone is locked this way, is it that no one can use it to make calls or send text messages or even browse again? Or it's just that the person wud not be able to access the mi account (which most people may not bother about sef)

What is the difference between Chinese rom and Global rom

The Chinese rom is beautiful,but it has some Chinese bloatware that i dont really fancy. Theres no much difference.
