he was lost in the match before the pk incident. bros forget sentiment and face the fact. kalu is not good enough to be a starter in the super eagles hoooooooooha!
Earthquake1:

3 bad outings? You are watching the back of your tv

In the first match he got a penalty, scored in the second match and did not play badly in the third

Do you think this is pes where you assembly new eleven together and start having chemistry and playing well

As for me, Rohr should invite a maximum of two new persons for the AFCON and let the team develop chemistry and play together

Leave people jor. I've noticed something here. Though we're all learning from each other many here don't know how to analyse ball rara. Nothing spoil sha. Onyekuru and even the Kalu should better be drafted to the dream team to further help their progress and development.

Uzoho needs competition..

And that competition will not come from Akpeyi and Ezenwa..

We need to draft in better subs.

I don't believe Uzoho was complacent today. His problem was match rustiness. Lack of match sharpness. It showed in the unusual errors i.e Couldn't catch the ball, grab properly and stuff like that.

My naïve conclusions from this game;

Aina was a liability.
Kalu still a lot of work to do
Etebo-Ndidi-Iwobi not the dream midfield trio.

Ogu brought freshness and stability to the midfield but baba don old small and he's kind of slow. Perhaps a midfield of Ogu-Ndidi and iwobi could work or maybe the terrier himself, Onazi.

I saw Etebo's performance today. Most times he looked like he just wasn't scratching it. If he continues this way. The conclusion may just be that he's not good enough. Looking forward to us drafting in better quality in that midfield right there. Eze of QPR looks like an interesting prospect. If we're going to be playing two DMFs going forward,we need better quality in that position. Probably in the mold of a Regista (or at least someone growing into one)

We desperately need a controller. Unless we play a 4-3-3 with Ndidi - Ogu - Etebo with Iwobi on the left.
When Mikel comes back - we'll go back to Mikel - Ndidi - Etebo with Iwobi outwide.

No disrespect to the players but. . .

You know the combination of Mikel Etebo Ndidi follow in what killed us in Russia bah?

Ok, let me chip in here.

When you make substitutions it can either make or mar you.

When you are leading in a game it is usually safer to maintain the shape that got you that lead.

A team that is chasing a game has nothing to lose if the substitution turns out to make things worse. Cos a lose is a lose. But making that substitution gives them a chance or probability of introducing a player or formation that can change things.

Rohr maintained the shape of that team because he knew they were capable of getting more goals if the need arises.

Onyekuru came in for a sapped out Kalu. Ogu also came in for Sapped out Etebo. Even with these substitutions he still maintained the shape of the team. The only major tactical switch was the introduction of Ajayi for Iwobi. You may say this last substitution came late but Rohr had his reasons for keeping it that late, of which I think it may be related to Uzoho being on a yellow card. What if he gets a second yellow and we had exhausted all our substitutions already?

The minimum we needed from this tie was 4pts. Even at 2-2, we were still meeting the minimum result required for the tie so no need to twist things so dramatically as if u are chasing a game. This is called tie management.

When ur opponent changes a player and the Newly introduced player seems to be causing troubles u may not necessarily need to react by only making ur own substitution. U may just instruct certain players to keep an eye on the new player or instruct one or two players to provide support when the new danger man goes on the offensive.

Rohr cannot continue like this, we can all make excuses for him now because he won. In the real afcon tournament, trust me he won't get away with this just like it happened in Russia and all of us making excuses for him tonight will call for his head then. The signs are too glaring. He can't go far with his team if he doesn't add flexibility to his game. It took mourinho to shout when he saw the game against Croatia for rohr to be a bit flexible against Iceland which we won convincingly. Haba na only rohr waka come

Ball watching Leon Balogun and hesitant Aina caused the equalizer

My jaw dropped when I say the replay of that goal. Aina practically avoided the ball like a plague. Very bad bad blunder. The only positive I can take is that he's now at Torino: He can get better playing top football week in week out. Though I must add, asides that error he wasn't bad.

local coach now wey go get like 4-5 slots which will be automatic for our old and recycled local league players abi? bros noooooo God no go gree

If we want foreign coaches, why do we always go for carpenter foreign coaches who have not achieved anything major before they coach the eagles. We keep killing the Eagles brand with these legbere foreign coaches.

SCORENigeria rates the individual performances of the Super Eagles tonight against Libya in Sfax, Tunisia.

Francis Uzoho 7

The young goalkeeper pulled off a couple of vital saves but was partly to blame for the Libyans second goal. He remains a work in progress.

Jamilu Collins 6

The leftback did just enough to get bye, but he did not match what he did in Uyo on Saturday. He will need to be a lot more consistent if he hoped to pin down a starting place in this team.

William Ekong 7

He continues to be the main pillar in the Eagles defence and held his own even when the team came under a lot of pressure.

Leon Balogun 6

He was to blame for Libya’s first goal but thereafter he picked himself up. Could his lack of playing time at Brighton be working against him now?

Wilfred Ndidi 7

He worked hard to shield the defence but his booking, which means he misses next month’s qualifier in South Africa, was unnecessary.

Oghenekaro Etebo 6

He also worked hard in the middle of the park as was expected even though he was guilty of some poor passes which put the pressure on his defence.

Ahmed Musa 7

He worked hard to get a goal and an assist. Those who worried that his playing in Saudi Arabia may affect him adversely should not harbour such concerns at least on the strength of what he produced in the two games against Libya.

Alex Iwobi 7

Another energetic display in central midfield even though he was not as influential as he was in Uyo on Saturday. The Arsenal ace most certainly enjoys this role than to be lined up on the left wing.

Samuel Kalu 6

He had a rather quiet outing and for most part of the game you would have to ask if he was in this game.

Odion Ighalo 8 MAN OF MATCH

He scored a brace following up on his treble at the weekend in Uyo. He is now the leading scorer in the qualifiers with six goals. His winning goal against Libya tonight was pure class and came from nothing to save Nigeria’s blushes after he had surrendered a two-goal lead.

John Ogu 5

He tried to assert himself on the game but he did not do enough in the 15 minutes he was

Maybe it's too early. But the teams to beat at that next Afcon are
1) Tunisia - The only team with a 100% record in the qualifiers so far. They've gone on to win every single game so far in a group shared with Egypt.
2) Nigeria - Have won 3 on the bounce and are seated at the top of their group. Poised to progress.
3) Ivory Coast - Potential turnaround for the team after a decline in recent years.
4) Senegal - Have already booked a place at the competition next year with 2 games to spare, alongside group opponents Madagascar.
5) Egypt - Always favorites.

Likely Upsetters
1) Uganda - While some may argue that they're placed in a soft group consisting of Lesotho, Cape Verde and Tanzania. They've done well to excellently dispatch most of their games so far and have a 100% record away from home. They are five points clear at the top of their group with 10 points and now need just a point from their remaining 2 games to progress.
2) Madagascar - Though not a household name in continental football, they've done very well so far and have already qualified with 2 games to spare after amassing a whopping 10 points from the first 4 games.

Probable Flops
These teams have played poorly,in compacrison to their actual level.
*One or two of these teams are likely to carry poor form into the competition and get knocked out early on.
1) Cameroon
2) Morocco
3) Algeria
4) Mali

Etebo is too bloody inconsistent. I once said he reminded me of Ramsey. Jack of all trades, master of none.
I love seeing dude carry the ball and breeze pass people but his inconsistency is getting annoying. Someone needs to slap his agent for that Stoke move ESPECIALLY before a WC. Very daft move...

Something I do not understand is; are Nigerians fickle - minded?! Because Kalu had a poor game, Onyekuru couldn't prove himself in the GWG Shirt yet, then we should bin them for another Players?!

Seem we have forgotten there is a Player called Simon Ajala Moses?! The reason he didn't play a Minute in both Legs is because; he's not fully fit yet and Rohr didn't wanna gamble with it.

Kalu is a deputy to Moses on the RW, while Onyekuru is also a deputy to Musa on the left Wing. If Moses Simon is fully fit for the South Africa Match, I am 100% sure - Rohr will start him and relegate Kalu to the Bench.

Both Onyekuru and Kalu are young Players, they are still developing and gelling, Rohr should never discard or replace them in the Squad.

BTW........ Ighalo is back!

Up Super Eagles!

Uzoho has no business keeping goal for us. Dude's ball distribution is totally poor. If not for the fact that he is based abroad, we wouldn't even be looking his way. He can stop a few shots yes, but so can Afelokhai and Ezenwa.

With his fumblings today i hope the coach learns and gets us a decent keeper. Afelokhai wouldn't be a bad idea. Even Ezenwa is better. At least Ezenwa can make decent clearances.

Rohr with his conservative nature will be the downfall of this promising team. It is very obvious the coach did not learn anything at the world cup. What I saw yesterday was similar to what happened against Argentina at the world cup, for God's sake why do you have a bench if you don't like making subs, the players were clearly getting tired around the 65 minutes and our midfield was non existent, kalu was lost in the match. He had to wait till after they had scored before making a sub, just as he did against
Argentina, making his first sub at 88 minutes after Argentina had scored.
He is clearly tactically inept. A coach that cannot read a game and make substitution when needed, with this flaw i still have my doubts that he is the man to take us to the promise land .
But credit must be given to Ighalo for coming through yesterday.
I just wish that a Amaju pinick will appoint an assistant coach that is good enough to help Rohr or we will keep seeing these mistakes from him because CONSERVATISM is his middle name.
