Agreed 100%

Me don know tey tey se the man can't lead us to the promise land.

Cc: Chriskels

That Rohr man is the biggest problem of this team. He is so useless. He doesnt deserve this team and the luxury. We have a more talented team now than Keshi's era yet Keshi did better with a less heralded team.

Ok, let me chip in here.

When you make substitutions it can either make or mar you.

When you are leading in a game it is usually safer to maintain the shape that got you that lead.

A team that is chasing a game has nothing to lose if the substitution turns out to make things worse. Cos a lose is a lose. But making that substitution gives them a chance or probability of introducing a player or formation that can change things.

Rohr maintained the shape of that team because he knew they were capable of getting more goals if the need arises.

Onyekuru came in for a sapped out Kalu. Ogu also came in for Sapped out Etebo. Even with these substitutions he still maintained the shape of the team. The only major tactical switch was the introduction of Ajayi for Iwobi. You may say this last substitution came late but Rohr had his reasons for keeping it that late, of which I think it may be related to Uzoho being on a yellow card. What if he gets a second yellow and we had exhausted all our substitutions already?

The minimum we needed from this tie was 4pts. Even at 2-2, we were still meeting the minimum result required for the tie so no need to twist things so dramatically as if u are chasing a game. This is called tie management.

When ur opponent changes a player and the Newly introduced player seems to be causing troubles u may not necessarily need to react by only making ur own substitution. U may just instruct certain players to keep an eye on the new player or instruct one or two players to provide support when the new danger man goes on the offensive.

Brilliant!!!

NFF can not do away with Rohr at the moment, cos he's maintaining Discipline in the Team. Tactically he's average, thus I would rather suggest he's made the Chief Coach and a tactcally sound Coach is hired as the Team Technical Manager.

Just wait let afcon tournament start. He can scrap thru the qualifiers but will be exposed again like in Russia. Don't know what more evidence we need again

I disagree. Rohr has his bad days in the office like everyone does. He is okay in my view. For once we are benefiting from continuity and harmony in the team. Who would have ever associated us with those words!?

Good one Pinnick!
Good one Rohr!

My jaw dropped when I say the replay of that goal. Aina practically avoided the ball like a plague. Very bad bad blunder. The only positive I can take is that he's now at Torino: He can get better playing top football week in week out. Though I must add, asides that error he wasn't bad.
Agreed

I saw Etebo's performance today. Most times he looked like he just wasn't scratching it. If he continues this way. The conclusion may just be that he's not good enough. Looking forward to us drafting in better quality in that midfield right there. Eze of QPR looks like an interesting prospect. If we're going to be playing two DMFs going forward,we need better quality in that position. Probably in the mold of a Regista (or at least someone growing into one)

Na Phillip we need.

I'm glad my submissions after our last game are beginning to gain more weight.

Being on the bench for brighton ain't good for Balogun and neither is the lack of serious competition for Uzoho. I doubt Uzoho is the best Goalie we have (over 160million people). haba!!
Please tell us the goalie that we should have

Going by your population story,China with its 2billion people should be producing Ronaldos,Messis,Oliver Khans in the hundred

Does China have more football fans than us? No

What about the investment in football? No.

What about innate football talent?

Also, it seems you didn't comprehend when I said Uzoho needs better competition so that he doesn't rest on his oars. I didn't ask for his replacement. Please try to understand next time before quoting.

since kalu is not what he thought he is rohr should try club brugge's bonventure dennis to see if he will add more quality. also ojo who have made it known that he will take up the chance if called up is another good option, same as lookman but it seem the bobo matter no too pure yet
As for me, I haven't given up on Kalu yet.. not so easily. Not after all the games I've watched him play all along... Unless its not the same skilful, powerful and pacy Samuel Kaly I know. He didn't walk straight into our starting eleven for nothing. He wasn't offered the number 10 jersey at Bordeaux for nothing. He wasn't recognized as Victor Moses direct replacement for nothing.

Even the much respected VicMo didn't start hitting the ground running in his first few games in the green jersey and he was given more time, so why must Kalu's case be different?

Except you don't count Chelsea as a big team, he played very well and did score against Chelsea when Arsenal played them.

He's being in beast mode so far this season regardless of the opponent.

On this thread I went ballistic when he dribbled past cahill, Kante and Fabregas like knife thru butter. no one saw that o. The second dribble attempt, Kante was beaten again and he had to foul him to stop him. Lol. Almighty Kante!!!

Whether population or not, Uzoho isn't the best but this is Nigeria where opportunity and authorities determine who is who. Rohr has always had something for Uzoho because of his age and height. Good attributes no doubt but he needs better competition so he can be better.

For that last statement; Lol is all I can sat

If we want foreign coaches, why do we always go for carpenter foreign coaches who have not achieved anything major before they coach the eagles. We keep killing the Eagles brand with these legbere foreign coaches.

Can we afford the non 'legbere' foreign coaches you crave? are those non 'legbere' coaches willing to manage a team at Nigerias level ?

What did Sven achieve with ivory coast?
What did Bob Bradley achieve with Egypt?
What did Avram Grant achieve with Ghana?
What has Seedorf done since he took over Cameroon?

The coaches above the level I have mentioned above are the true A-listers (Pep, Klopp, Emery etc) who we simply cannot entice to come and be following us to play games in Mogadishu lol

Rohr can do better but for me he is doing okay.

By the way, what does legbere mean? asking for a friend. grin

This may not be a popular opinion but Iwobi is not our solution. He is creative no doubt, but he is not a controller. At 2 goals up we were still playing at the pace the Libyans want us to play, same thing in the first leg. If Iwobi cannot control a match against Libya will he manage against any other team? Libya controlled the first leg and should have scored way more, they are controlling this one and should be level or even ahead but we are lucky.

Ndidi, I wonder why nobody criticises him, he is doing absolutely nothing. We attack Etebo for holding on to the ball too much but Ndidi does nothing, he does not chase the ball, he just has an automatic shirt which makes no sense. I watched the Algeria match and Ogu is a good controller, without Mikel he should be playing a part in all our matches, he will offer way more with Etebo than Ndidi
He was on a yellow and I'm very very sure Rohr told him to play it safe which he was doing cos thats unusual from Ndidi on a normal day, but I got angry with that yellow which was a stupid call from the official. I hope they appeal that crappy yellow card. Nonsense Ref!!!

In my opinion only Kalu's sub wasn't timely as it was his wing that look the most porous.

None of the sub caused as much trouble as their guy wearing 6

Oga you are defending the indefensible

When you are under pressure, I mean, when you are under constant barrage of attacks, sooner than later you are going to cave in.

A more tactical coach immediately counter it by making quality subs, in fact any kind of sub would do at that point.

When under constant pressure within the 60-85 minutes of the game.. Bringing in a sub or two will do one of the following

1. Calm down the tempo of the game... Actually, the calming down changes the direction of the game altogether

2. It gives your players a breather, ... It gives them time to reorganize themselves to become more sturdy

But Rohr couldn't see that, he stood by the sidelines allthrough and didn't know that he should had made the change by the 70th minute on the dot

He took too late to do the sub

The same thing he did against Argentina at the world cup. He stood by the touch line until the Argentines scored in the 87th minute

87 fucking minute for Christ sake, while Argentina were making changes all along...

Its obvious Rohr hasn't learnt anything from the world cup hence his stupidity last night... If Libya was a top team, after their equalizer, we would have been buried!

After re watching the whole match again this morning.. I came up with this..

Kudos to Rohr and the whole team. It's not easy to win a double legged tier home and away. Ask ivory coast, South Africa, Tunisia.

Common, libya came also to play football, who won't like to be represented at the afcon?
They gave us a fight and run for out money.. They fought and showed us they ain't that easy a walkover. So they deserve their accolades also..

Uzoho made couple of saves. Although the goals could have been avoided by good positioning, but hey no cause for alarm, shiit happens and no need for panic buttons.

Rohr is the man and will continue to be the man no matter what anybody here thinks.. So it's bout time we dig it. The team harmony, discipline,.. Mehn he is completely in charge.

No need for much talk.. World standard, we may be average but in Africa, we definitely ruling... Watch out for our position in next caf ranking cool
