if u read my posts often.. I maintain with boldness that all these beer palour analysts opinions doesn't count. It doesn't go past this s thread and the roofs of their apartments.
That's why I hate analysing, and my worst people in this life are football analysts cos talk is cheap to them. And moreover nothing they say can change even the smallest hair in reality.
So anytime u see them exercising their freedom of speech and arguing with their MB.. Just ignore and pass cos what they say doesn't effect in reality.

Nobody here.. I repeat nobody here s opinion can effect what happens in the glass house. It can't effect what Rohr is gonna do In the future and it can't affect how a team or a person performs. And most importantly, it can't affect the result which is meant to be anyway.. So anybody yearning dust, hating, criticizing or fantasizing about his weirdest dreams.. Hurray to dream is free.. Exclusive: Nigeria hero Odion Ighalo nearly quit after death threats

COLIN UDOH West Africa Editor, Kwesé ESPN
SFAX, Tunisia --

.
"We are 99 per cent sealed the ticket to the Cup of Nations," he told KweséESPN in an exclusive interview in Sfax, Tunisia, where the second match was played.
But all of this nearly did not happen. Sitting down in the changing room of the Taieb Mhiri Stadium, Ighalo reflected on what has been a challenging last few months for him and his family.
For a fleeting moment, the ever-present smile turned wry, then retreated as Ighalo opened about on how he and his family -- including his children -- endured vitriolic abuse, and even received death threats on social media, after a World Cup performance where even he admitted he had not played up to his own high standards.
Things got so bad, Ighalo said, that he came this close to packing it all in.
"I know the fans want me to score goals. I understand them," the China-based striker said. "But some of them took it to another level.
"They said a lot of things. To my innocent kids, to my wife, even to the extent they threatened my life and the life of my family."
Despite trying to remain above it all and not respond to critics, he was deeply hurt by the attacks on his family, especially his children.
"I felt very bad [when they went after my family]. I had to talk to my wife because she could not take it. Some words they said about my kids, about me. Some words they said to her, threatening and all that. That is beyond football.
"You know women and how they react when you talk about their children. But I never said a word to nobody and I never replied anybody."
He did not have to take any action to protect his family, as they live in England while he plays in China for Changchun Yatai. But with all of that going on, it was only natural that the forward wanted to quit, especially when his wife advised him to.
"My wife said 'you don't have to go there [to Nigeria] any more' and it was because of all what they said to her and to our family."
It took national team coach Gernot Rohr's intervention to convince Ighalo to come back and suit up in green and white again.
Ighalo explained: "I want to thank Rohr because after the World Cup and all those things happened, he called me before the Seychelles game [in September] and I told him I was contemplating stopping because it is not easy.
"But the coach had belief in me. He said 'I know you are a good goalscorer and I know you can do it. Come and show them that you can score.'
"If a coach believes in me, then I will come. I told hm 'coach, if I am in your plans hundred percent then I will honour the invitation any time you call me.'
"He said 'yes, you you are in my plans for the games'. Then he said 'don't be under pressure, just go do your thing, I know you can do it.'
"That gave me the confidence which I believed that I needed. I want to thank him for defending me, and giving me the words like a father, encouraging me, talking to me. He gave me more belief and I thank God for repaying him with these goals."
Ighalo has since disabled comments on his Instagram account, where he is still active, and rarely appears in front of the media. And he has no intention of changing that decision anytime soon.
So does he feel like he has proven all those doubters wrong?
"I am not trying to prove anybody wrong," he said. "I am just trying to work hard for my country and I always give hundred percent.
"Unfortunately, it didn't happen the way I wanted it at the World Cup. But life did not end there. I went back to my club, and I continued my game.
"Now I am back here to play for my country. I just want to give hundred percent whenever I play, goal or no goal. As long as the team wins, I am satisfied."
Nigeria's next Afcon qualifier is against South Africa on 16 November.

I literally wept while reading this. I personally saw no fault with Ighalo's performance at the WC. NONE AT ALL. The guy suffered from lack of supply from the selfish Victor Moses and a poor nonfunctional midfield. There is little a CF can do if he doesn't get accurate passes.

I was shocked to see many people even on this forum blaming Ighalo for the loss to Argentina. Even the world's finest strikers may have missed those chances.

Dear Ighalo, some of us NEVER doubted your abilities. Not then, not now.

Oga Ighalo rightly said he gives 100% all the time but it doesn’t always work out sometimes. Truth is when we needed that goal most against Argentina he failed. While I wasn’t among those calling for his head in the aftermath of that, the truth before his recent goals rush, is he had a poor goals per game ratio in the GWG.
4 goals from open play in 2 games is quite impressive. He needs to keep it up. I’m not in support of death threats etc. These players are humans after all.

I just watched the replay of the match.

I want to say, as it stands,
we top the group and we would likely win our last two games. I’m impressed with the outcomes of our games but I’m not impressed with our play. But well, it’s better to win and not play well, than the other way around. In an ideal world, I would like to see SE really stamp their authority in the way they string their passes and control the game. Well, I can’t complain. We are doing the needed.

Criticisms of Ighalo were valid but people go too far when they start insulting family and issuing death threats.

Glad he has started to score. Long may it continue.

As regards Rohr, yes he has deficiences but so do other coaches. He has a great record with Nigeria against African sides. I can't complain when he is producing results.

We should balance our criticisms.

Annoyingly thing is that I am pro Iheanacho but you won't see me castigating Igahlo, insulting or blaming him for any mistakes the team makes simply because he is benching My fav player. No!!! They are all Nigerians and we should support, love, criticize them equally. See the way Kelechi was very happy for Igahlo after he scored. This is truly why some people need to be taking anti-amnesia pills. I suppose this amnesiac fella didn't see me dropping Ighalo praises all over the place during the first leg in Uyo and showing his New goals stats record in the GWG following that Hattrick.

Ohhh... He also didn't see me showing support for Iggy when he hit camp because whether anyone liked it or not he was always going to start against Libya and we needed to show support to whoever gets out on that pitch. I am Team Super Eagles mister... So stop the silly attempt to paint me in a wrong light to attract nonsense likes to your post.

And at bolded... TheSupernerd is a busy guy. A very busy guy engaged with lots of research science projects, a job, advanced med. studies and more. You don't expect him to be here every damn day. But I was here when Iggy bagged his first SE Hattrick and no one here celebrated it more than I did... I gave it the spectacle it deserved. So try harder in trying to give Supernerd a silly mention. If you got nothing smart to say with my moniker, then I would appreciate that you don't give me silly mentions okay. Thank you. wink

Now allow me to change this channel...

SUPERB!: How Super Eagles Rated Vs Libya In Battle Of Sfax

Completesportsnigeria.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU appraises the performance of the Super Eagles, player-by-player, in their 3-2 win against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya – a reverse fixture in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at Taieb Mhiri Stadium, Sfax on Tuesday October 16, 2018.

FRANCIS UZOHO: 7/10

EXPOSED!! The secret asian tonic that will regrow your hair
Looked shaky at times, but made a number of vital saves to help the Super Eagles to a third consecutive win in the qualifiers.

OLA AINA: 7/10

Failed to track Zeibeiea for Libya first goal of the game.
Otherwise. it was a good performance from the versatile fullback.

Ad
WILLIAM TROOST-EKONG: 7/10

Slipped early on in the game which nearly resulted in a goal for the Libyans but recovered well to post an above average showing.

LEON BALOGUN: 7/0

Strong as ever, Leon Balogun stood up to the threat of the Libyans especially in the second half. The Brighton & Hove Albion defender also showed his ball playing ability in the game.

JAMILU COLLINS: 6/10

The SC Paderborn left-back was put under intense pressure by the Libyans in the second half but proved equal to the task.

WILFRED NDIDI: 7/10

Ndidi picked up a silly yellow card in the closing stages of the game which effectively rules him out of Super Eagles next game against South Africa. However, the Leicester City man was an influential figure in the midfield for the Super Eagles.

OGHENEKARO ETEBO: 6/10

He was lively in the early parts of the game but soon fizzle out and misplaced a couple of simple passes. Made way for John Ogu 15 minutes from time.

ALEX IWOBI: 6/10

Had a hand in Nigeria’s first goal scored by Odion Ighalo, but not as effective as he was in the previous game in Uyo.

AHMED MUSA: 8/10

Provided two assists and scored the Super Eagles second goal in the game. The stand-in captain no doubt led by example in what was a lively performance.

SAMUEL KALU: 6/10

Failed to replicate his performance from the first leg and was duly substituted 10 minutes from time by Henry Onyekuru.

ODION IGHALO: 9/10

Another man -of- the match display from the forward who scored twice in the game. He also provided the assist for Ahmed Musa’s second goal.

SUBSTITUTES

JOHN OGU: 4/10
Didn’t infuence the game much following his introduction for Oghenekaro Etebo 15 minutes from time. He gave the ball away late on which nearly resulted in a goal for the Libyans.

HENRY ONYEKURU: 5/10
Full of life and showed glimpses of his ability after he took the place of Samuel Kalu in the 80th minute.

SEMI AJAYI
Took the place of Alex Iwobi late on

Reading back on the comments here in the aftermath of our win over Libya in Tunisia, I think I am glad I missed the ruckus on here. But I definitely didn't miss the game.

Ighalo is back. He was back already in Uyo but he used the latest game in Tunisia to show his Hattrick is no flash in the pan. He is back and he is good to go as our number 9 going forward ahead of Afcon 2019. But it is still good to have an Isaac Success pushing him competitively and an Iheanacho providing options in our attack dept either in the CF or SS roles. We are loaded and that is my happiness. Gosh, the only thing I miss in not being around on here for the second leg was the way I would have celebrated that Iggy scoop for the winning goal... Ighalo rolled back his Watford days in that third goal by perfectly executing the "Iggy scoop" taking out two players in the process... Sending them to Alabama. Lol

He did awesome and was truly a hero.

And for those Nigerians especially on Instagram who went as far as threatening Ighalo's wife and kids... Yes! Even his kids were threatened. I got two words for them...

"Sick" and "Lobotomy"

They are seriously sick people who are in serious need of a super lobotomy.
There is a line man must not cross even in criticisms. Shallow Nigerians we have scattered all over. Reason why I don't relate with the low mediocre mentality of majority of Nigerians. Rubbish.

Not then, not now.

must you drag other innocent players into your defense of Ighalo....?

was it Moses and the dysfunctional midfield that missed that goal scoring opportunity against Argentina?

it never came extra ordinary to me for Ighalo to score those goals yesterday...though I applaud him for the 5 goals he scored in these few days.
but not something so extra ordinary...
a striker of his calibre is expected to score goals...

I got two words for them...

that' was really bad.
threatening his wife and kids.
football in nigeria is like a religion everyone belongs to...
I must sincerely applaud the German coach...whose conservatism paid off.
He gave him Apple time to redeem himself and the dude grabbed it with both hands.
