I started feeling mine at 21 weeks , the doctor was bothered when I told her I didn’t feel anything at 19 weeks she said it had to do with tummy fat , my weight has been fluctuating between 88-92kg over the past few weeks

So i went to the hospital today and the doctor used a hand scanning machine to check ist and he heard a very sharp heartbeat, he just sighed and said “first timers” meaning our wahala too much *side eyes* anyway he asked me to run a scan to confirm everything is fine with Nadina so my mind can come down. The scan turned out fine and she was just moving upandan and shaking her small bum bum.

@Messyodi I'm glad to know that everything is alright. I did experience 2 days without much kicks when I was at your stage and even now at almost 35 weeks, there are some days the baby's kicks aren't so reassuring. But I have come to understand that that is when baby goes through growth sprout.
But It's good you have gone to scan to put your mind at rest. Your baby will suckle your breast at full term in Jesus name, amen.

Once the doctor does an ultrasound and everything is okay then there’s nothing to worry about because mine had to do an ultrasound to be convinced

Was shaking my bumbum to the kitchen on 30th September to fix breakfast before going to church when I felt something between my legs. I dashed to the bathroom to clean up and discovered it was thick ‘catarrh’ according to the nurses in the maternity; which they said is one sign of labour. Haven passed my five EDDs, I was glad and gave thanks to God. Finished my morning routine and left for church anticipating the real deal. The day passed, nothing else.


Monday October 1st, same thing happened in the morning yet no labour pain. In the evening, I and dh took the car to the car wash, left it there and took a cab to the supermarket to stock the house. On our way back to the car wash, we encountered a tight traffic and I suggested we beat it with our legs. Though dh complained throughout the walk that the stress was too much for me. Told him to chill that the walk is needed and that I must make the baby uncomfortable. Despite the long walk, I did not feel tired (netting stage; another sign of labour according to the nurses). I was hoping to fall into labour that night, still no show.


On Tuesday 2nd, went to work and had another long walk at the close of work. Still did not feel tired. Got home, made dinner alone. Told dh not to help because I was full of energy. After eating, we started gisting when I noticed wetness between my legs. Before now, I already had my bath. Went to the bathroom to clean up and discovered that the discharge was lighter than the ones I saw before and was missed with blood. Called dh for sighting. I explained what it means to him with the little knowledge I had in ante natal classes and here on this thread. We were now waiting for sever waist before going to the hospital. Meanwhile, the discharge continued. Told dh that with the way things are going, we might not sleep in the house today. Dude was glad; he said it has been his prayer that his child will be born at night when both of us are back from work.


7pm yet no pain but the discharge continued. Dh’s was getting set for bed and asked me to wake him up when I start feeling pain. 7:30pm though without pain, I asked him to come take me to the hospital to be on a safer side. On getting there, I was checked and was told I’ve dilated to 2cm. we were asked to go home and report back when I start feeling pain.



On our way home, I noticed I was feeling pain and pressed in my lower abdomen and so much pressure in my jajana. The pain comes and go, I did not attach any meaning to it because I was busy waiting for sever waist pain. On getting home, the pain continues on interval. While gashing my teeth due to the effect of the pain, I remembered some BS I’ve read were some mamas explained their contraction process. That was when it done on me that I was contracting. Told dh about it and we started monitoring it. We discovered it comes every 8 minutes and lasting 2 minutes. Time check was passed 10pm and dh’s was no longer comfortable with the way I was reacting to the pain and advised we report back to the hospital. We got there passed 11pm and the nurses were surprised to see us so soon. She checked me again and asked we go wait outside and report back between 5-6am the next day. I opted for us to go home but they and dh’s kicked against it so we went to relaxed inside the car. The contraction became so frequent, I was fainting but thanks to the bottle water we had with us. Anytime I contract, I step it down with water. On and off till 2:50 a.m. told dh to support me back in that I can’t wait for the time the nurses gave us. On getting inside, we meet the doctor who asked if I was feeling pressed. I answered in the affirmative. He checked me and dressed the delivery bed, ready to take my delivery. He asked I pushed when next I feel pressed. At this point my shout was capable of pulling down the roof. I was sweating and shivering, I thought I was gonna die. I pushed twice when I felt pressed but no show. The male doctor was not been friendly. He was just handling my jajana with recklessness, adding to the lobour pain. He was teasing me and asking how I got pregnant if I cannot open my legs. My legs were not stable due to the shivering but thank God for the female doctor who was more tolerant. At the third push, I felt another sharp pain (episiotomy) and my angel made her grand entry at 3:34 a.m. weighing 3.3kg.


I was stitched amidst another crying and shouting. Thank God it all ended in praise.


It was a smooth pregnancy journey. No ms, no swollen nose/legs, no weight gain, small bump. Food aversion was only ogbono soup and eating out.


NB: Noticed, I mentioned drinking water and sitting in the car while contracting. Please, mamas, avoid this mistake, it slows down labour. I got to know of it after delivery. It is best to walk around and avoid eating or drinking anything.

Except your were told not to by your doctor for medical reasons, pls it is safe to meet your hubby.
