nwanneni:Why did it hydrolock? Did you pass through any floods today in pH after todays downpour? |
Re: Nwanneni's Road To Recovery by 9icetoo(m): 1:03pm On Oct 22, 2018 |
cluewebhost:For naija? 3 inch na the starting point. Where do you stay in pH that you have managed to avoid fording through 3 inch of water to get by? 1 Like |
Re: Nwanneni's Road To Recovery by Nobody: 1:04pm On Oct 22, 2018 |
9icetoo:yes o!the one at ust round about. It turns out that the supercharger(kompressor) intake that the engineers at mercedes placed at the bottom of the fan is a huge design flaw afterall!!they never thought of flood before doing that |

nwanneni: It has nothing to do with the engine being fragile. You see burning fire and you carry hand again go put . 4 Likes |

It once happened to me...I raced from Lagos to Benin end route Abuja in about 3 hours rested overnight, the next morning I got into a flood and lost the engine. If the water is higher than the sump, abort trip is my new motto. Sorry brother 2 Likes |
Re: Nwanneni's Road To Recovery by 9icetoo(m): 1:13pm On Oct 22, 2018 |
nwanneni:Kai. On my Skoda, I rerouted the drip hose from the intake away from the wheel well into the engine bay because it could suck water and hydrolock the engine. I have been particularly careful of such. While driving out this morning, I was wondering how the low hung cars were faring in the flood waters. Never new a nairalander would lose an engine. Sorry once again bro. You may have to reroute the air intake on your diesel merc so you don't suffer same fate if the air pipes are routed in a similar way. 2 Likes |

Re: Nwanneni's Road To Recovery by sacramento1212: 1:16pm On Oct 22, 2018 |
nwanneni: I guess so. May be if it was a naturally aspirated engine, you shouldn't have experienced this. Sorry all the same bro for the unnecessary expenses. |
