For years, My mind has been battling between these two models of Development. 1) Focused Development: igbos concentrating their investment mostly Into major cities in igboland instead of developing sparsely populated rural areas. (eg lagos model) 2) Dispersed Development: igbos continues doing what they are doing now and develop every nook and cranny. ( eg Anambra) but Development remains spreadout. Think before you respond because both types have their advantages and disadvantages. Some people might argue that we are doing both which is true but is it really an effective way of development in the mordern era where cites are now the major engines of growth. |

oyatz:I agree with you. We put all our eggs in one basket in 2015, but 2019 is very strategic because if we do the same mistake, in 2023 yorubas will hijack APC if Buhari wins. I hear Ekweremmadu is on his way to APC, if it's true then we must rally behind him too |
| Re: . by globemoney: 9:39am On Oct 23, 2018 |
oyatz:Then the Federal Government should concession The Second Niger Bridge then if they are not willing to build it. I strongly disgree with the mindset of asking igbos to contribute money to build the bridge or asking the state government to do it. If the federal government cannot build common Niger bridge, why are we still Nigerians? The ones you mention were not inter state bridges. It is completely a state affair |

Is Murtalar Muhammed Airport a State affair? Are you aware that in 2007, just before he left office, Obasanjo concessioned Lagos-Ibadan express way but Jonathan Administration made it impossible to implement the concession. globemoney: |

globemoney:I agree.ibos should copy the 2015 yoruba voting pattern of 60/40 or 70/30.south south have already started working towards that |
| Re: . by globemoney: 11:02am On Oct 23, 2018 |
oyatz:Airports is not the same as Bridge. Meanwhile all the projects you are listing are in the south west. Why is the FG not concessioning Enugu/Onitsha expressway, Second Niger Bridge etc? As long as we are still part of Nigeria we must pressure the FG to complete those projects. Nothing more nothing less |
| Re: . by Nobody: 1:03pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
oyatz:Exactly the problem. If we support Atiku and Buhari wins, we will suffer lack of FG presence till 2023, if Atiku wins, he will not step down for an Igbo man to rule in 2023. If we decide to share our votes between APC and PDP in 2019 in order to be neutral, any candidate that wins will surly make us pay dearly for it and if it is Buhari that wins, we are finished. 1914 amalgamation was the biggest mistake that ever happened to us, now, there is no going back. |

The vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, on Monday said Igbo leaders and governors of the zone never disagreed with his nomination but disagreed with the process.Umahi is doing well as the Igbo leader as confirmed by peter obi. we will also deliver 1.3m votes to Atiku/Obi... |

LasGidiOwner:The problem is not what imo state is doing with their airport. The problem is what igbos are not doing with imo airports. We should stop this attitude that imo state airport is for imo state people alone. With the right agreements, the whole of igboland should benefit from the cargo airport built in the state. Moreover, it is not the fault of imo that anambra did not look into the building of airport all these years. With rising economic needs, the airport in anambra should as a matter of urgency stalled and money diverted into more fruitful pursuits that will earn us more than what we are earning at the moment. Anambra has failed to look into its comparative advantage and expand on it. Alibaba, Amazon and the Walmart are all concepts of basic buying and selling that the western world has modernized and making billions of dollars from. China currently has the biggest mall in the world and it generates billions of dollars yearly. Onitsha is strategically located and can stand firmly as a very good substitute to lock-jammed lagos due to ease of business but we have stopped tapping on the 70million-plus market that skip onitsha and still run to lagos. I am not saying the people are not trying but we can do better and key into this modernization. We can provide 500,000 jobs without even trying if we can plan the economy well. |
| Re: . by SpaceTour: 2:38pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
What you are saying is absolutely rubbish. Anambra needs not just an airport but an international airport. Anambra has carve a niche for itself as the economic hub of the SE without seaport nor airport. Now the economy of Anambra is moving from commerce to industrialisation. Now there is a new development in ATK that will be linked to the airport when completed. With the Onitsha Port and Anambra International airport, then the entire east is good to go. Aviation development is very critical economic development of any state, and Obiano saw this need to take the economy of the state to yet another level, which is very good. All the states in the SE will benefit from the Anambra International airport, there is no need for any airport in Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi etc. All of them should key into Anambra airport when completed. I think that is the right thing to do. Develpeast: |

SpaceTour:Stop being overtly emotional about this. I will stop now because they said you are chino. |
| Re: . by SpaceTour: 2:44pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
It is not being emotional, it is about saying it the way it is. Every state should develop the infrastructure that is suitable for it and its people. You guys should stop this useless regional arrangements. We are now operating as federating units, so every state knows what is good for it's development and advancement. Develpeast: |

spyder880:Sometimes I wonder what would happen if these wealthy people, instead of trying to impress the kindred and villagers, concentrated some of these projects (including village houses) into the redevelopment of parts of Onitsha, Awka, Owerri, etc. You could build a penthouse and lease the rest of the flats below. Anyway, somebody with serious foresight is going to make serious money in the coming decades by buying up Onitsha waterfront for example. |

SpaceTour:now you come...this is the only thing I want to see..you are right here..every state should develop according to their need... |
| Re: . by Nobody: 4:14pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
Develpeast:Nice post let me correct one minor mistake in your post. The biggest mall in the world is truly located in China but, it generates zero profit because it is now a dead mall. Nobody made use of the mall after it was built. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 4:19pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
SpaceTour:Why the rude intro? Every state in the east should have its own international airport and provide employment for its residents through the airports. The air traffic will be evenly divided across the states and it will be left for the state governments to make their states more viable to attract more traffic. |
| Re: . by horsepower101: 4:21pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
ezeagu:You are the man. I am beginning to feel that it’s time we focus most developments in our major cities and forget about village houses. On the issue of water front. Whom ever is a visionary that can buy up those water front lands in onitsha now will be stinkingly rich in years to come. |

nnamdijonathan:It was a ghost mall for a decade until they got their acts right. Read below, the mall is in full capacity with over 100,000 customers daily. https://theculturetrip.com/asia/china/articles/worlds-biggest-shopping-mall-china-no-longer-ghost-mall/ |

| Re: . by Develpeast: 4:46pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
nnamdijonathan:How many people are employed in kano international airport or in sokoto airport? How much does the state get from the construction of the airport. Do you think building infrastructures is just to employ teeming youths? If you are building a white elephant project that cannot bring enough money that build other sectors of the economy, then why build such a wasteful project. |
| Re: . by Nobody: 4:50pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
Develpeast:The airports may not be built now, they can be built later when the state becomes more viable. As we currently speak, I am 100% satisfied with the 2 airports in the East. |
