It's a Mercedes E350. I still await your response radautoworks

I use Octane Boosters on my mercedes, give it a little more mileage, just a tad, from my calculations. I guess it makes the fuel burn slower.
But guess what? It just killed an O2 sensor.
And from what I read online, it can. Now I am scared for my cat.

There are many Octane boosters in the market claiming it will boost the octane points and all but in reality very few do the job. Yes, i also read online that continous usage of the octane booster will affect the O2 sensor and the catalytic converter so you should watch out for your cat. Do you have a check engine light already?

That's the reason why i want to find out if it's better one make use of the fuel treatment than the boosters. I also read reviews about Techron made by Chevron and customers testifying to the effectiveness of the product.

Sure the check engine is lit and it points to the aforementioned. So I wont be driving it much until I get the O2 sensor replaced.

Ok. How long have you been using the octane booster and do you make use of it consistently?

Wow! What brand? May be you should also review other brand of boosters or substitute with the fuel cleaner. That's why i asked the question if the fuel cleaner is preferable when compared to the octane booster.

The "acclaimed" Johnsen's brand...

Yes, I think I would try my hands on fuel treatment instead and see what happens next.

Or

You want treatments not boosters.

With the shadiness of our fuel, you might even want to spring for one that removes water like

Thanks for this information. Also from your opinion, is fuel treatment better when compared to octane boosters?
Re: Nwanneni's Road To Recovery by Nobody: 9:40am On Oct 24, 2018
I used STP octane booster and gained 2 more liter/100km. It was like magic, but I'm still weary of using it too regularly, but whenever I use it I notice improvement.

It once happened to me...I raced from Lagos to Benin end route Abuja in about 3 hours rested overnight, the next morning I got into a flood and lost the engine.

If the water is higher than the sump, abort trip is my new motto.

Sorry brother
swam through a flood that was almost covering d damn bonnet in April wt a C300.
Guess I was lucky.
Though I had in mind that d air intakes are high up on the engine bay.

You have other problems to worry about not just the engine...how about water ingestion by the transmission...which has also happened to me, within weeks my transmission fluid turned pink...this happened inside town after going through flood like waters on Aguiyi Ironsi St, Maitama, Abuja during a particularly heavy rain

I think I have also been a victim of short-circuited electronics because of flood water....since I drive to the limit daily (provided the conditions are favorable/suitable), I could not help but observe how my car was having problem getting to my usual cruising speed....it had also destroyed a part of the ECU responsible for commanding the opening of the intake manifold runner control so the engine could suck in more air during high speed operation..solution was to replace the ECU

If you know that road, the area just in front of Maitama General Hospital is practically a valley

I drive my 406 through water when it rains heavily. There was a time at night I didn't know the water was that much and I drove through, my headlights were covered
I was so shocked cos I didn't think it was that deep, I got home and refused to turn off the engine until the temp raised a little
The next morning
Car started
After some time, it started sounding like a whistle, under the hood, nothing was wrong. I poured water on the serpentine belt and the whistling sound stopped.
I drove out and it continued after sometime (I guess the water dried up)
I went to my mechanic and changed the belt and rollers
Car is all right until date
406 is a true king.

I'd just get a new car entirely, tbh. Not a W203 again. Sell the C230k off for like 700k, and buy a new car. G35, GS350 and the 4th-gen Acura TL are great options.

The C230k is a spirited car but it really isn't all that, tbh.

Of course
The balance shaft issue is a big turn off
And the size is small
Better still
A facelift w204 c350
Or the is 350
Please if you're getting the TL
Go for the SH-AWD with 3.7l 300+hp
Quad tips
That car is crazy
