1. necessary (except you will be with your baby 247 and you don't need/can't afford to take a break for other people to feed the baby
2. Not necessary, you can boil in hot water or use sterilizing tablets
3. Most diaper bags come with bottle warmers so you may not need this, it's mostly required for formula. When you store the milk in the freezer, you bring out to thaw at room temp. BM doesn't need warming
4. yes oh! If you know you want to EBF you have to stock up A LOT (especially if your supply is shaky). You express into the bags, date carefully and store in a freezer. With consistent light you can store expressed breast milk in frozen state for up to 6 months. You will need your bottles for day to day use so the bags work for prolonged storage

Most pumps come with bottles but in my experience they were not enough (although I combi-fed) Buying 3-4 bottles extra helps especially if your baby will be going to creche so they won't need to wash and reuse

1.Electric breastfeeding pump (I quite understand I need it for EBF, but since I intend buying it, should I also get the others below? And after pumping, how do I store? Can I store in the bottle that comes with the pump or I have to get a breast milk storage bag?)

2.Sterilizing set (Is this just for breast milk or even formula, how important/useful is it please)

3.Breast milk bottle warmer (Do I also need this after using the breast pump & maybe storing in the fridge? Also is it for breast milk only or including formulas) How useful/important pls

4. Breast milk storage bags(I'm going to be working from home for a long time, besides going to church I may not have the need to go anywhere for long, so I wonder if I also need to get this... Especially as I feel the breast milk could be stored in the bottles that comes with the breast pump.)

Lastly, do I still need to get feeding bottles cos I noticed most of these items come with one or two feeders.

Heat denatures BM. Even vigorous shaking isn't good for it. What I did was bring out the BM required for the day from the freezer and let it defrost and attain room temperature naturally. Note that BM that is exposed at room temperature for over 6 hours has to be thrown away so plan carefully

Please, dearie, it's very very possible. My mom and two elder sisters don't have their periods or take in while breastfeeeding and so use breastfeeding as an effective family planning technique, my mom was so sure it will be same for me and I was gullible enough to believe it without reinforcing with any other family planning alternative. I took in again when my daughter was 7 months and I never for one day had my period while exclusively breastfeeding o... here I am on nairaland preggies thread as team December and I was here last year as team August with a 15 months old daughter. After TTCing for a while before I had my daughter, I can say I'm not too depressed about it, but my dear, it is not an easy something at all o! Don't believe all those old mamas tales to avoid stories that tickle the bom-bom... You can ovulate and get pregnant without a menstrual period.

Good day mama"s congratulations to the new moms,and saafe delivery to the waddling moms, am here again after my last experience while having smptom and dr gave me series of antibiotics not knowing i was preggy i later lost the pregnancy.this time am scared of going to that same hospital after testing positive and no symptoms,according to my LMP i shld be 6wks today without any symptoms,but i noticed a whitish discharge am a little itches dowm there,duo ive not done any scan.
please ma what do i do
shld i go to the DR?
is flagyl safe at this stage?
is the discharge normal ?

Pls don't use any drug for now, is d discharge with odour? If not, it may be d increased discharge associated with pregnancy. Just watch it for some time. Am so sure it is not infection cos I Ve same in my two pregnancies. You carry to term by God's grace

Experienced mamas in the house, how soon can I start trying for another baby? It's been one week since my evacuation. A close friend suggested I start immediately but I read online that the lining of the womb might not be fully back by then.

I also read mixed stories of women who tried immediately. Some carried to term and others miscarried again. Me I'm scared of that happening again so I'm being careful.

Abeg make u a help me chook mouth. Is it safe to start trying again immediately?

I was adviced to wait till after my next menses before trying. This is to give the uterus sometime to heal.

Okay so u don't need creche ish good

You need an electric DOUBLE pump. U can't trade d ease n convenience for any other type.
You need an hands free bra or u take ur old firm bra.preferably sports bra and cut at d nipple.
You need extra bottles like 4more please buy ones with soft teat and can withstand hot water.
You need storage cups.avent is highly recommended.still using it for my 2plus daughter to pack her early morning cereal. It is multipurpose. From storing milk to storing little food during creche age.
You need a good water flask that can keep water atleast 24hrs.
You don't need to buy sterilized set. Jus get those heavy duty plastic bowl with lid.tight lid o. Use it to sterilize after washing ur bottles. Pour in hot boiling water.the steam will sterilize d bottles.
You need anoda bowl for collecting used bottle.that way u don't mix clean and dirty bottles.
You need a bottle carrier bag.for when u go out.
I personally express whenever I leave my house .my breast remains Inside
When freezing ur expressed milk used d storage cups. Don't use d feeding bottles.
When the milk DEFROST u pour into d d feeding bottle,warm an serve.
To warm ur milk.
Take out the frozen milk and allow to defrost completely.
Pour into the feeding bottle.
Pour hot water in a big cup.mix it with cold water such that you can place ur finger comfortably inside.
The water is hot not warm and not scalding hot either.
Put your bottle in the cup of hot water allow to sit for few mins.
Shake at intervals.
The milk is ready when it is warm .
Feel the warmness by placing the bottle against ur cheeks
Please don't use scalding hot water. It will cook d breast.
If your milk is just in the fridge start process from pouring into the bottle.

Always defrost the next bottle while baby is still feeding from the current bottle.dont wait till baby is hungry n crying before u start defrosting.



Lastly drink plenty of water while breastfeeding.
Buy my lactation cookies it is a yummy healthy snack and it aids lataction too

Good morning sabi mamas,I was diagnosed as having Typhoid fever yesterday.The lab technician that conducted the test told me it's on the high level and it needs to be treated as soon as possible.He prescribed Amoxil (500mg)Beachan,of which I bought immediately but I am still worried because I feel this weakness all over my body and we are 37 weeks 5 days today.I don't know if this is peculiar to me alone because it's kinda strange,everything has been going on smoothly before now.
Please I need advice from all the mums on what to do because I planned visiting the hospital if it persist after three days of medication.

Baby and I are doing great. Thank God.
