Uli Airport is a symbolic shrine, which remains the height of Blackman's greatest technological achievement to date. The wonder of Uli Airport is yet to be matched by Blackman anywhere in the world. The Airport and its structures have been deliberately left to decay, so as to attempt to obliterate the memory of an Igbo symbol of technological advancement, military superiority, resistance and survival. Had Igbo Day been held at Uli as scheduled earlier, its significance would have been almost impossible to express in words, in terms of its symbolicness and what Uli Airport represented and represents to Ndi Igbo.http://africandemocrat.com/content/uli-airport-symbolic-shrine-biafran-resistance-francis-nnamdi-elekwachi

Obasanjo stop celebrating, the agitation is back like Philip predicted. You were deceived to celebrate an unstoppable ideology. Biiafrr.ra remains an ideology that can never die. Major Philip Effiong said and I quote... " Treat the surrendering Biafrans well, else their children will resurface and continue from where their fathers stopped, which they won't give up like we are doing today until they get what they want ". Today, his prophecy/prediction has come into fulfilment because the three R's the then Fed government promised which includes, Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction have not been implemented and it's has become too late for those aforementioned to be implemented because IPOBS today which is seeking for the independence will never back down on their secession plan... Take it or leave it. God bless Ojukwu for planting this seed of quest for freedom in every Biafran. God bless Philip for his role in Biafra and his capacity to see tomorrow. God bless Nnamdi Kanu for his steadfastness and his call for referendum despite intimidations coming out from different angles. |

Who is denying ndi Igbo the use of the airport? All these while, why have Anambra state government not done anything to revive the airport. Anambra state do not have any existing airport, yet it cannot rebuild this one. |

Some days, I just tear up at what Biafrans have endured. What kind of evil is this? Let them go and build a civilization that will make black people get some respect on this earth. Look at Obasanjo bragging on a feat of an airport built by a fellow black people like himself. SMH |

I remember talking with an Old man who ran a beer parlour where I was drinking. He had been in the Biafran air force and worked at Uni airport. Uli was the lifeline of Biafra having blockaded and the Nigerian air force were looking for it. During the day they would cover the runaway with palm fronds and vegetation so that the federal planes would not find it. At night they would clear the place and start landing planes. How they landed planes has become the story of legends. Several people would line the runaway with pots that had inflammable material. The plane that was supposed to land would be radioed to descend to a certain altitude. When the times was right , the people with the pots would light it up, creating temporary 'runaway light's that the pilot could see and land. As soon as the plane had landed, the people with pots would cover the pots with special coverr that snuffed out the lights and the airport would be in peach black. Federal planes would hover above and bomb indiscriminately trying to hit the airport, but in the darkness, it was like trying to shoot fish in a barrel of water. The few times they hit the airport or run away, it would repaired before morning and the airport would be covered in vegetation so the enemy planes couldn't see it. Uli airport only functioned at night under the cover of darkness. |

It is very clear that Nigeria, as a federal government, will not do anything to elevate the structures and minds that will remind them of the creativity of the Biafra war. The people of the old Eastern region must continue to invest and excel in the sciences, technology, engineering, medicine, business, economics and other fields of study that will engender the creative workforce required to form a modern nation. Make no mistake- Nigeria will dissolve, whether through implosion or external forces. It is inevitable. |

gidgiddy:The Igbo man's ingenuity... who knows what Biafra would have become by now? A technological hub and wonder of the Black civilization , and a cynosure for western curiosity and admiration for generations. Little wonder Britain and Russia did everything to kill that potential by supporting Nigeria... the thought of an independent black nation competing with the advanced civilizations with self reliant brilliance and ingenuity was an aberration not worth conceiving. I curse the say Lugard forced Igbos into that accursed nation called Nigeria, woe betide the founding fathers of this scam called Nigeria... SMH. |

Necessity, they say, is the mother of invention. Many ubiquitous products that have deployed commercially and are now so basic that they can not be done without were a product of military necessity- e.g internet. The Biafra war saw some great minds from the old Eastern region who deployed their expertise to the struggle. But they were no match for the imperialist funded zoo because of one thing- OIL. Countries like Britain, US, France, Netherland etc deployed great resources to safeguard their investments in oil. But now that oil is getting less important, do you think if the Biafra war was to replay itself, that these imperialists would extend similar support? NO. These countries have divested their investments in oil in Nigeria. Nigeria is now a blight to the world. A cesspool of filth, disease, illiteracy, poverty and violence. We know what region of Nigeria is a poster child for these traits. We know what region of Nigeria is holding the other back. Dynamics have changed, ladies and gentlemen. I aspire to do a form of podcast or series for those who are desirous of learning of the new geopolitics. |

Shehunoshewhat:What you should understand in South Africa is that those White people there, their main aim we to steal and subjugate the real South Africans into servitude... But they failed and were highly resisted by the indigenous Blacks, The Zulu's lead by Mandela... So now, since they don't have much power anymore, the sit back and are like "OK! let's see who you guys can give!" Also don't also dispute the fact that some if not most of the developmental strides over there are courtesy of them... No insult please! |
