If Nigeria is able to build 1402 km( four thousand four hundred and two kilometres) standard gauge railway from Lagos to Calabar with just $12b, which is about 3 times the length of Nairobi - Malabar, why should Kenya use $8b to build ordinary 490 km standard gauge railway from Nairobi to Malabar?

Nigeria's 1402 km is three × 490km of Kenya's standard gauge railway yet it is just $2b lesser.

Who is building at a lower cost? Use your brain and answer the question.

The sgr construction is in phases here like now the Nairobi naivasha project is 75% complete,next is naivasha kisumu then to Malabar.
So I don't see any point of arguing blindly here cause you people took a lot of money to build the sgr because of the distance yet it still looks ugly than that of Kenya's.

Don't try to compare Nairobi with Abuja in this aspects.

Destination for top global diplomatic offices like UN and big multi national firms.

How much did it cost Kenya to build 465 km standard gauge railway from Nairobi- Mombasa? Answer is $3.6b(see first snapshot). Answer. Yes or no.

How much will it cost to complete the 490 standard gauge railway project of Nairobi to Malabar? Answer is $7b (see second snapshot). Answer Right or wrong.

How much will it cost Kenya to build 955km standard gauge railway from Mombasa- Malabar? $3.6b + $7b= $10.6b. Answer Right or wrong.

Meanwhile, we are going to use $12b to build 1,402km Lagos-Calabar standard gauge railway.

Lagos - Kano standard gauge railway project which is approximately 1,238km(in other reports, it is estimated to be 2,773km) will cost $8.3b.


$2.4b is used to complete the 187km Abuja- Kaduna
and 156km Lagos Ibadan standard gauge railway which is just 343km. Unlike, Kenya using $1.5b to build 120km Nairobi - Naivasha segment+see second snapshot) and $3.7b to build 262km Naivasha - Kisumu segment (see third snapshot).
