Direct Entry's minimum requirements is Upper credit. So you're good to go. But I must tell you though OAU and Unilorin are highly competitive. You can apply but chances of gaining admission is really tough. Especially for your course.

Mass Communication is under the faculty of arts so if you'll apply for direct entry you can only get admitted into faculty of arts (as far I know).
So here are all the departments under faculty of arts in UI. You can decide on a less competitive one that you like then apply to that department.

*Transcript usually will take at least a month to get to OAU if you're requesting it from your school so you have to order for it on time.
*DE candidates won't be writing any entrance exams at all.

Well if you checked and they stated it that way then maybe it won't be possible to cross in this case. But there are some faculties that allow DE applicants change to a related course in that same faculty.

You can visit the campus and make proper enquires yourself.

Hi guys,

I just finished my final exam for my ND and my current GP is 3.28 upper credit.

I have LASU on my mind, but I have a comma. I used two sittings WAEC for my ND and the grades are not that high; mostly C's. I made some research and realised LASU has a way of calculating points through grades.

My questions are what are my chances of getting admission or should I write a new WAEC hoping I will get good grades at one shot?

This is not true from your findings. The second jamb number is the valid one because its the new one and recognized by jamb as it appears on the jamb DE registration slip.
To login, use the email you provided during your DE registration (not regularisation) and the password is your current jamb number.
