If not, then I must disagree with you as Lane Discipline is one of the fundamental principles of safe, organized and free flowing traffic.

Even the Police in Nigeria sef don't have lane discipline on roads that have clear lane markings. I see them on lekki epe, driving on the white dashed lines all the time, it's quite frustrating that even the enforcement agencies have no idea how to drive. Traffic Poilce in Yankee would never drive on the white line unless it's an emergency. They always drive by example.

When law enforcement agent will even set up roadblocks on expressway and turn a 4 lane road to one lane in the name of "checking"

It's not the job of any police man to check the 'tools' in your car. Police job stops at the checking of your vehicle papers. LASTMA also isn't empowered to check your vehicle's equipment, only FRSC has the right to do that..
If a policeman wants to start checking your tires for validity or if you have razor blade or flashlight , just quickly tell him that's not part of his job oo cos he's just looking for something to extort you with.
These guys are just looking for avenue to enrich themselves. Imagine putting blade as list of tools for your car.... If they now find u with a blade, they would say you are in possession of a dangerous weapon

Why don't you set up a task force on road maintenance and repairs . The roads are bad and they are here talking about checking documents.

Some grid locks are even caused by the police themselves especially on major bus stops with high vehicular movement.Igando especially...

Rather than get the commercial vehicles moving, they station their agberos who collect monies staeadily from this drivers causing backlog of traffic.

Will you check the papers and state of worthiness of commercial bus drivers ?if the answer is yes then go ahead

the country is cursed with useless leaders. the major cause of traffic is bad roads, big pot holes on the roads. there is no operation to fix all bad roads but there's operation check vehicle papers. How very papers cause traffic is what i don't understand.

This is another avenue to inflict pain and suffering on the already fatigued citizens of Lagos. Instead of finding solutions to the grueling gridlocks that seem to be a daily occurrence in the state these days they want to make it worse. How did we end up with the kind of thoughtless leaders we have in this nation?

We don't want any police operation in Lagos.

In the mind of the Nigerian government worker (police, FRSC, etc.) what makes a tyre or spare tyre "valid"? Is it only some arbitrarily chosen age limit? Or is it treadwear/tread depth - you know, the way serious people do it?
