Questioning the life style of the journalist is beating about the bush. I wasted my precious time reading this epistle to see his concerns about the authenticity of the video, instead I saw a weak attempt of defending official kickback.

Do u know what it is to be a governor, not to talk of GM of some agencies? A governor will be taking bundles of money and be putting it in his pockets one by one? It doesn't add up. He is the chief security officer of the state, he doesn't need to hide from anybody, at worst he could have given instructions to bring it into his office without anybody allowed within the premises etc, he can do anything to destroy the trail of anybody knowing. Jafar is not intelligent.

Sir, who is not intelligent here - the governor who allegedly brazenly took bribes thinking erroneously that he is covered since he is a sacred APC cow, the patriotic person who reported it with clear evidence or your humble self who is making such a shallow defence for the alleged crook? Sir, let us assume you are right that there is a political motive behind it. However, the point here is that a top APC government official such as a governor allegedly actually took such bribes which is part of corruption. Since the Nigerian government wants everyone to believe that they are seriously fighting corruption, which is their (only) selling points, then the Kano State governor should step aside for detailed investigation to be carried out. We should not be defenders of corruption. "The ruling APC must kill corruption (including the ones involving their members) or corruption will kill them".

After watching the video released by online publisher, Jafaar Jafaar, on the alleged receipt of bribe money to the time of $5 billion by the current Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, I made some observations which I kept to myself.

I was actually on my way out of the country and because of my relationship with the people of Kano, the government and the proprietor of the online medium, I decided to give the video a second look beyond a casual glance.

But as fate would have it, I later travelled to the United States of America and the issue came up in my discussion with a friend of mine who is a private investigator and an expert in motion pictures analyses which further reinforced my doubts compelling me to come up with this piece.
