Gentlelord:

what I have come to understand in NA is that you can achieve anything regards a appointment except few positions restricted for combatant (like GOC, COAS, CDS) if you have the right connections and the wit to also play the inside politics, you are good to go.
I personally know of DSSC that converted to DRC who held positions as Commanding officers, Commanders of Corps (Division wise) and also Corp Commanders. if you check the NA seniority role you would see DSSC now DRC as Major Generals and Brig. Gen while a whole lot as Colonels. if you can attain the rank of a Colonel your military career is Very very successful and you can go to your village a happy man. We are even aware of an SSC become a COAS sef
Let's keep our fingers crossed and be hopeful, the fact is once enlisted, not all of us we brandish the One or two star on our vehicles or even be a redneck, the privilege to even wear the khaki alone and be awake for others to sleep peacefully would be enough satisfaction and achievement for some of us. Even when I have age on my side to even apply for SSC 46, I personally don't want to apply for SSC even though I know the long run benefits of SSC, because I am a guy that likes to get dirty as an engineer, likes to wear my overall 247 and resolve critical problems around operation systems of equipments and SSC may most likely deprive me of that if I unfortunately gets posted to a core combat corps. Because I feel this SSC 45 is to fill and meet up with the current security challenges plaguing the country in the NE. I would like to go to the NE but as a support ARM.
Oboy, don't assume, there's no difference in role, mind you engineer is combat support unless you are electrical or mechanical which is combat service support, wether you are dssc or ssc or regular, you are going there..............your opening paragraph is good to go,my advice to is.....army is army........get yourself ready or settle for a civilian job

Egbon Sheriff232 and juicy oga mangojuice, what do you guys take of this Professional body registration thing (especially for bodies outside the medical field) that NA is doing in this recruitment? I have met lot DSSC 22 n 23 guys who only registered after they joined the job.
Though for some corps it wasn't explicitly advertised that you must be a registered member of this bodies but during registration one now come across a compulsory place that you are to fill about the professional body membership. Unlike that of navy that it was explicitly stated that it WOULD ONLY BE ADDED ADVANTAGE

if your course has a known professional body please register if not forget about it, ,for instance do they have psychology association, education association etc, personally i think that's for medical, finance eg ICAN,ANAN,engineer et COREN and legal etc, good luck, once you get in you will see allot of courses and get professional because your promotion depends on it unlike us......Aikii soja kawaiii

It must not be July, some pass out December, may etc, just count 6 month's from date of training, while ssc count 9,10 or even 11 months from training, they must not pass out with regular but i think since 2015 it has been the norm to avoid the president going to NDA two times in a year.

POP for dssc doesn't need President attendance ,most times the Chief of army staff or minister will go but SSC and RC requires that they fill pass the president or vice president during pop,
And na them de put Piping and Presidential commisioning as a ....... pass for their calendar and souvenir. grin

As regards your 2nd and 3rd line, what do u take of this? Mechanical Engineering was advertised under Engineers and not under EME, of which mech Engr is the CORE embodiment of EME and to the best of my knowledge NAE don't necessarily needs Mechanical Engineers

Apply under SSC and you will be sure to get EME,if they insist on professional body you will be dropped but i doubt if they will insist but again what if there are other applicants with professional papers, that will relegate you........just do your things with believe and faith

good evening sir, I have some questions and would be glad if you would be able to help me out.

1. Is first school leaving certificate important for the screening process?

2. Do we shave our hair completely when reporting to camp if shortlisted?

3. I saw someone talking about Corp selection in this thread, do we get to choose after the final list i.e after the screening process?

4. What if after the screening process you still have like 10 candidates remaining from a state, how then does the army cut down on this number.

1.Very important, start looking for it if you don't have, they have a way of using it to know your real age

2.its not compulsory but immediately you pass medical and succeed with 3.2KM race then you must remove everything to be able to face final selection board, failure to-do so might earn you eviction, you cannot face the board president with a hair on your head, this is because at that point you are 99% successful unless you don't know your course of study very well and it will be seen as assumption if you don't scrap your hairs after being advised to do so.
3.If you are SSC,they will chose for you though you will still be given forms to select but they have the final say Then DSSC select their Corp from application portal though its still subject to change except medical, legal and education guy

4.They will pick the best 6,7or 8 as the case may be but if there are short falls in a state within the geopol zone then they might use the remaining ones to augment the Short fall

What type of membership did you apply for? and how much does it cost. The next diet will be April 2019...the thing tire me, i had already started registration oo since 2016(Graduate member) but discontinued cos I was aiming for SSC and saw no need of it at that time.
What will be will be. If push comes to shove I'll present that of International Association of Engineers.

I feel your pain bro.
I'm also a medical doctor so believe what I'll tell you
Hepatitis B FORMERLY had no cure but I'm glad to announce to you that it now has a cure
Forget about all those food taboos they won't help you any bit
Don't waste your money on herbal medications. They won't make a difference
Because the drugs were recently introduced not all hospitals have them.
But I'm sure of some places
Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) has the drugs. I'm sure of that while I was still there.
Some other teaching hospitals can have. I don't know where you location is so I'll direct you to a closest place
You'll take the drugs for 6 months. Though the virus will disappear from your blood before that time elapses.
So rejoice bro. Keep the dream alive and smile.
Your condition is treatable
wow I’m really amazed bout dis felt lik crying when he thought the sickness has no cure but on hearing dis info I’m so happy for him bro. Kip d spirit up bro the Lord is ur strength

Let me assist Oga Sheriff232 in doing justice to number 1.

The idea of tendering your FSLC is to enable the screening officer calculate your age. But your original birth certificate (that brown-coloured one issued by National Population Census) and WAEC certificate can safely act in lieu of the FSLC as they both have your age inscribed on them.

My case is quite similar to yours. I also dont have my FSLC so the other documents sufficed, but i had quite a hard time convincing them of my age using my schooling timeline. You go see when person wey no born you go dey follow you drag your age. My saving grace was that all my timelines aligned with my documents.

If this is actually the reason u wanna join and you're not just being hypocritical, then I must say I admire your altruism & patriotism, unfortunately I entered with the same mindset & I was frustrated outta d system. The Army is an institution(occultic), the army won't change for you, you're the one the army will bend and change by force.

99% of my coursemates joined the Army to bully others or to escape unemployment. I was d odd one out that joined with a pure and clean heart. I checked myself out of training eventually when I couldn't stomach d garbage anymore.

As I said majority of those joining are doing so out of frustration- @least 95% of them.

If you're truly joining to change the NA, I'll advice you to think twice b4 wasting your time and life. I just went there to waste away 4months of my precious life and I'm yet to get my balance since then. I even forgot the Dosage of common drugs like Ciprofloxacin, Metronidazole etc, cos na only Army job we dey serve for training Kula.

It's a real had I known situation. I repeat, if what you wrote above is truly your reason for joining the army, pls don't try it my brother, you will definitely regret it. It's better to join the Airforce & Navy cos they are still civilised, Armyjob na mad man job o!
