Over 1.1 million Nigerians have slip into extreme poverty in just four months, TheCable can report.

This has brought the number of Nigerians living in extreme poverty — or below $1.90 a day — to 88 million.

In June 2018, the Brookings Institution named Nigeria as the poverty capital of the world, with 86.9 million extremely poor people.

Nigeria overtook India as the world poverty capital, despite being six times smaller in population than the Asian country.

According to the World Poverty Clock, created by Vienna-based World Data Lab, 88,011,759 Nigerians are currently living in extreme poverty.

The World Bank, IMF, United Nations, and major development institutions across the world forecast that Nigeria will not hit the 2030 target for ending global poverty.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation also suggest that West Africa, primarily, Nigeria will host 40 percent of the world’s poorest people by 2030.

Re: 1.1m Nigerians Slip Into Extreme Poverty In Four Months by socialmediaman:
All because of a tyrant who made us believe he could get our country working again

Buhari is the biggest fraud Nigeria ever witnessed since Independence.

The tyrant (also con artist) shed crocodile tears at the suffering of Nigerians when he realized he could not win any elections, he deceived Nigerians into thinking he cared about them, he conned Nigerians.

Buhari aides and abates deep deep corruption within his government, talk less of fighting corruption in the country. Budget padding for instance costs Nigeria billions that could be invested into the economy to create millions of jobs. Instead of fighting the corruption he promised Nigerians, he’s instead borrowing to fund corruption.

Buhari has played all his cards, we now know he’s a con artist, a fraud, incompetent and unqualified for the position he was trusted with. He failed at every promise he made to Nigerians.

Never again!

Before 2023 even Zombies will have no strength to talk due to hunger if Buhari eventually win.
The signals are there already, it will only keep getting worse as Buhari's brain keeps deteriorating with age.

Modified : to all the clowns quoting me to say trash .
We all see how some miscreants were praising GEJ on that Lagos Ibadan Rail thread !
So the same applies here ! Blame GEJ for handing over a destroyed economy to Buhari .
No matter what happens . I will praise Buhari and I will vote for him in 2019 if I’m alive and well.
Anyone that is not comfortable should go and die cheesy

No surprises Under Buhari a world record 11 Nigerians are now slipping into hopeless abject poverty every minute and more into standard poverty and yet zombies want Nigerians to keep Buhari for another four years just so they can have 30k a month ...hell No
Re: 1.1m Nigerians Slip Into Extreme Poverty In Four Months by nnachukz(m): 1:17pm On Oct 31, 2018
Look at them up there celebrating poverty as if it is something to be proud of.
You will wonder if there were actually born by human or they are just mutants with no senses and feelings. Once N30k graces their account at the end of the month, their body and soul are bought.

And they want him to continue?
Buhari wants to make sure all Nigerians are poor and begging for food before he'd go home.

If 100 million people where on poverty in 2014 how come Nigeria wasn't poverty capital of the world then ? If 100 million people where in Poverty in 2014 how come there is no data to show people living poverty yet there is enough data to show more and more people slipping into poverty under Buhari govt ?

You clearly don't know how poverty is graded , we are talking about extreme poverty here ( below 50 cents a day ) and it's about 90 million ..when we use the 5 dollar yardstick to measure poverty over 160 million Nigerians including you fall into that bracket

Are we talking of job loss, attempted/overt suicides, deplorable security situation, sensless bloodshed/ killings, widespread hardship or the abysmal economic reality from global assessment indices

Meanwhile APC claimed it have fulfilled its promises to Nigerians and that Buhari deserves re-election.I laugh in "Change".
