I open mouth like , abi my battery naim get fault, because mine charges to almost 50% in like 40 mins.
Fast forward to yesterday, I watched a YouTube review of the Redmi note 4x, and after saying all the nice things, the reviewer said phone charges from 0-100 in around 4 hours . I come begin suspect say whether nr b me dey charge my phone since? Today I did a charge test and behold the result was shocking. Check it out. From 7-96% took about 2 hours, 14 mins.

it changes ur charging time. Using the phone while charging leads to increase in temperature, the phones charges slower when the temperature is high, this is not a myth. Temperature apart, your phone screen is part of what drains battery most so definitely having ur screen on and in use while charging takes its toll on the charging speed also.

Guys, please help. I dunno what to do anymore. I ordered a phone on aliexpress using mi global store, two weeks ago. I used the DHL shipment method. Its just been one delay to another, from seller now to DHL. I dunno what to do anymore. They want to do physical examination on my parcel? Seller declared it as $41, actual price is above $200. I'm afraid I might be asked to pay custom duties. I used my savings to buy this phone(mi6x).

That is actually a common myth.

Unless you're using all these low quality 5v 0.5A chargers, using your phone while charging doesn't change your charging time. If you get over 3 hours and you think it's because you're using it while charging, you're mistaken.

That being said i didn't use the phone while charging except to check and take screenshots in order to calculate charging time accurately.

You can try it from 15%, take screenshot before and then at 90% and then 97-100% to reflect how much time has passed. It may surprise you how long it takes.

Nr b everything we suppose argue, ontop say most users here dey use this device, if person see say im own different, e suppose kw say something wrong, no need to try and make over 99.9% users to think say dem nr know their phones. Right from factory rom, to official Global stable, to developer rom, to Eu rom, all my charging time na dsame, around 2.5 hours, I surprise to hear this new one today.

Must have been your cable issue I used my RN5 cable o.n my old phone charger and phone it charged faster than with the old cable on the old charger. Get a new cable

RN5 supports Quick charge, what i'm using is the Redmi Note 6 Pro and it doesn't support it.
It is not the cable.

I'm not using a fast charger naaa. Just the standard charger that came with the phone.

Funny enough, I'm using my old Tecno g9 pad 2 charger to charge it, same time recorded.

Makes no sense for Xiaomi to release an upgraded version which charges slower than its predecessor

No you don't, just download and update via the updater app.
Take a full backup because all your data will be wiped.
