The way Koice was praising it, I had to re-check the movie on Wikipedia to make sure I didn't watch a fake one. Koice, I can't quote your long posts, let me just go ahead with my rebuttal.


You saying all you can glean from my post is that I'm enamored to jump-scares horror. It's funny because it's like you haven't been paying attention when I've repeated it on here that the reason I hate horror movies is because apart from that they scare me, the producers/directors usually focus on scaring the audience (the major aim of most horror movies) instead of scripting intelligent storylines that are cerebral, imaginative and refreshing. In other words, horror genre stimulates my brain less than most genres.

Then I've labeled The Others a horror masterpiece with a rating of 9.5, saying that it's one of my best horror movies of all time. I praised the script, the characters, the superb acting of Nicole, the shocking end etc. I've also rated Sixth Sense, Split and get
Out very high. None of these horror movies focused on jump-scares.


So, how can I be enamored to jump-scare horrors over intelligent well-crafted psychological horrors? It makes no sense. Don't Breathe was fantastic because of the storyline and wonderful acting especially by the old man. I didn't love it because of any jump-scare.


I refused to watch The Apostle till today because I hate jump-scare horrors and it looked to me that it might be one. So, how on earth did you arrive at the conclusion that jump-scare is what I look out for in a horror?


I love The Others, Sixth Sense and The Nun, the first two had no jump-scare according to you, while The Nun was filled with jump-scare. So, how come? Weren't I suppose to hate The Others and its ilk because of lack of jump-scare? The reason I love The Nun is because I find the storyline apart from the jump scare, interesting. No matter the jump-scare, if I don't enjoy the storyline, the horror becomes trash to me. Hereditary had no superb storyline despite the director wasting my time in building up a basic suspense that sucked after 2 hours. 2 hours of average hot mess!!


As for your post about my position on IT, I haven't read the book so I can only base my judgment on the film. We're not debating the novel. As long as I'm concerned, IT without the jump-scares had a good storyline and a well-executed acting by the casts. It's the acting by those kids that made me love IT not because of the clown or gore or jump-scares. Those kids were the life wire of that movie.

expired crack!!!! Lol! Will expired crack work on the user? Only asking. But hereditary was the sh! T, it was damn good, I saw it some weekends ago. The scenes, and build ups weren't scary, but the story was, when you finally start understanding what is going on. I feel what people don't like about it is that it took too long for them to know what was actually going / the build up was slow. It was when the protagonist met with joan(Ann Dowd of the leftovers TV series) that the pieces started coming together of the movie. Anyway, to me, it was a very very good film. Seen it twice already. Haven't seen the nun so I can't comment. But I know the nun won't disappoint me either since it has ties and affiliation to my best horror franchise of the last ten years the conjuring. So the rating you gave dey fear me small small, the nun I mean

The Nun is good.... but just like your basic Average Horror Movie.....I could literally actualize some things before they happened and they happened....you may watch it just to know how ogbeni Valak came to walk the earth....and see the connection between it and The Conjuring 1&2.....

Hereditary on its own was SICK!!!....after watching, I was like wtf....it's something that'll keep disturbing you....you're trying to comprehend what happened and you're also like....wtf just happened?.... you feel me.....that movie made me numb for some hours brah.........

Still, the Nun is a toddler when Compared To the Conjuring 1&2, Hereditary, The Babadook , even Insidious 1-4.....

Expired crack is not only more potent, but is generally more fatal to the human brain than your usual crack!

Seriously though, I'm immune to most horror films, because I’m so used to them. Most of them are so generic that I can't be bothered, but Hereditary f**ked me right up. Like I haven’t seen a movie with that much focus on depression and loneliness (some people with lesser understanding of how psychological horror works would misconstrued this important part of the plot as boring and slow). The best horror movies are rooted in real human emotions and trauma. They work on levels without anything supernatural happening, but when those elements are brought to the film, it ups the horror exponentially. The Babadook is the only one that comes close to the levels of horror this film brought.

On The Nun, you'll certainly be very thrilled with it if you're a fan of jump-scares. It has it in droves. It's the weakest of The Conjuring franchise by a stretch.
